Also during The Big Sale, I stocked up on some Shower Gels (top photo) and Body Scrubs (bottom left) and Moisturizers (bottom right) and even a single Fine Fragrance Mist.
Not sure how many items from the 60-Piece Summer Collection actually made it to our lil Kuwait, but from what I can see, there’s plenty to appeal to everyone! Aside from the usual Shower Gels and Body Lotions and Body Creams, you’ve also got Hand Creams and Hand Soaps and Body Scrubs and Fragrance Mists and Hair Perfumes and Candles to choose from. Plus, you have the option of going for either the full sizes or the cuter travel sizes! The scents are appropriately tropical and summer-y, while the packaging this time is quite fun, and the names are all simply delightful! Honestly, the Summer 2019 Collection really is worth checking out!
Like I said earlier, my niece had run out of her Havana Fragrance Mist in the travel-size (dis) and asked if I could get her another one. So when I took the kids to see Toy Story 4 at Souq Sharq (fully gory deets here), we hit up Fantasy World and MAC (dis) and Bath&Body Works before the movie, and Sultan Center after the movie (dis) .
At B&BW I got the Havana Fragrance Mist for my niece, and the Tahiti Shower Gel and Bahamas Body Cream for myself, all in the travel-size versions. As always, there was a “Buy 2, Get 1 Free” deal, which meant the lowest priced item ended up being free.
With the kids still in tow, we popped by Bath & Body Works (Souq Sharq). I’d seen the new Summer Collection earlier (over at The Avenues branch), but hadn’t actually given anything a proper sniff.
As soon as we walked in, I could smell my beloved Pineapple Orchid Candle (haulage here). I traced the scent to Bahamas Pink Passionfruit & Banana Flower Mist (which was part of the new Summer Collection).
Since I was all stocked up on well, everything, I figured I’d just get the Travel-Size Mist (although small, they pack quite a wallop… depending on the scent you choose) and since they had a Buy 2 Get 3rd Free deal on Travel-Size Mists, I let the girls each pick out one of their own. Then, by the cash register, I picked up a PocketBac and let the elder two each pick out one of their own, because there happened to be a Buy 2 Get 3rd Free deal on PocketBacs too.
As per usual, everything was over-priced, but that’s Bath & Body Works for ya’!
Seeing as how popular my previous Zara Perfume posts were (Cashmere Rose is almost always listed in the Top 10 Posts in the side-bar), I picked up a total of x19 Zara Fragrances for around KD 120 to review (but also because I’m kinda’ obsessed with fragrances now and also because I was hoping to find some “hidden gems”). For starters, just like their clothing, Zara regularly comes out with a lot of excellent duplicates or “dupes” of best-selling high-end and designer perfumes.
That said, keep in mind, as with most cheap-y fragrances with a high alcohol content, these do not last as long. As such, most of them were pretty inexpensive (the lowest ranging from KD 4/900 and the highest ranging to KD 10/900)! I’d also like to point out that although certain fragrances might still have the same name, Zara tends to reformulate them (completely switching up the scent) and change the packaging, from year to year. Lastly, these are just my “first impressions” and my opinion is subject to change (so please don’t be offended if you happen to love a certain scent and I don’t).
I was really happy with my previous haulage from Nordstrom (here) so when I noticed that they were having another really cool promo, I decided to place another order. Plus, it was mah birthday (not that I needed an excuse to shop, since we’ve already established that I’m clearly a shopaholic). Basically, the promo was if you spent $135 (around KD 40) on Fragrances (including Eau de Toilettes and Eau de Perfumes and even Scented Candles), you qualified for the Gift With Purchase, which happened to be a pack of Fragrance Samples (haulage here)! As you can see, the items arrived individually wrapped in packing paper, in a rather large (practically empty) cardboard box also stuffed with packing paper. It’s not pretty, but hey, it works (everything arrived safely and undamaged)!
– Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Gift Set ($155 Value) retails for $103 (KD 33/700)
-Trish McEvoy No. 9 Blackberry & Vanilla Musk Refillable Pen Spray (.2 oz./6mL) (Limited Edition) retails for $32 (KD 10/500)
– beautyblender Sweet Surprise Set (Limited Edition) ($28 Value) retails for $20 (KD 6/500)
– Fragrance Samples Pack (gift with purchase) (haulage here)
–Samples Pack (free with every order)
Nordstrom was having yet another promo and just like it says on the sticker, with every $135 Fragrance Purchase (which converts to around KD 40) you qualified for the pack of fragrance samples (as shown)! Most of them were tiny spray samples, but there were several adorable mini perfume bottles and even an actual candle! Not only that, but they were all either from designer or niche brands! A lot of them were relatively new fragrances too! Best of all, included was a sample of Delina by Parfums de Marly (which I’ve been dying to try)!!!!
This particular promo could not have come at a better time, especially since as I’ve already demonstrated (haulage here), I was more than willing to spend my money on samples. Funny how only a few months prior, I would’ve barely glanced at this promo, but now that I’m obsessed with perfumes, I was giddy with excitement, practically salivating, at the prospect of playing around with all those perfume samples!
