Carrefour Small Haul (Jan 2021)

Once again, while furniture-shopping, I found myself at The Avenues.

I’d parked underneath Carrefour, so as I was leaving The Avenues, on my way back to my car, I took a quick lap around Carrefour and snagged a few things.

Sephora Haul (Nov 2020)

Like I said in my post Chef LuLu Part 8 (here) an ex-friend (Mera) took me to Sephora on November 29 2020 to make up for ambushing me earlier.

I couldn’t even remember the last time I’d been to Sephora!

I was so happy to be back!

There were so much to look at, new brands, new products and new potential holy grails! There were all kinds of Gift Sets and Value Sets as well!

Not 5 minutes in, Mera started whining about being hungry.

I’d asked her if she’d picked up the Nars Blush that she’d wanted. Her reply was that she was so hungry and no longer interested in buying anything (which I suspected was her intent from the start).

She kept nagging and nagging, but I ignored her and eventually she just bounced lol

She said she’d go ahead of me to The Cheesecake Factory and I could just meet up with her afterwards.

Glad to be rid of her, I hurriedly agreed, but in hindsight, what she did was not cool.

She kept calling me and nagging me to come over but I ignored her. I wasn’t gonna’ cut my first visit to Sephora in such a long time short, for her.

However, I did pick up the Nars Blush (KD 13) that she’d wanted, to surprise her.

As for myself, I’d barely bought any Makeup in 2020, due to my health issues (heart palpitations), but by the end of the year I’d learned how to handle it and quite frankly, I had missed Makeup!

I walked outta’ there with two shopping bags (to make up for lost time lol)!

I got my first Natasha Denona Eyeshadow Palette which was reduced from KD 39 to KD 23/250

I also got the Too Faced Natural Eyes Neutral Eye Shadow Palette (which I’d been lusting after, ever since my Spotted at Sephora post, here) which was reduced from KD 13/750 to KD 9/500

I couldn’t help but get the Kat Von D Walnut Brow Struck Dimension Powder which was meant for the brows, but I thought would make a beautiful eyeshadow! Plus, it was reduced from KD 8/500 to KD 3/250

Those were the only discounted items I got, whereas I payed full price for the rest.

It wasn’t just all Makeup though.

It was mostly Skincare, with a few Hair Care items, Body Care and even a Perfume Mist.

Chloé Daisy Triple-Buckle Bombay Brown Leather Chunky Heel Sandals

Like I said in my post Chef LuLu Part 8 (here) an ex-friend and I went to The Avenues on Nov 27 2020.

The plan was to hit up Sephora to check out their Black Friday deals but instead she decided – all on her own – to park by Prestige so we could have dinner at Joe’s.

Afterwards, rather than wander around aimlessly, I decided to check out the Boots over at Prada and Chanel (which was a bust).

On a whim, I sauntered in to Saint Laurent and walked outta’ there with a Niki Medium Shoulder Bag (here) and Baby Lou Shoulder Bag (here).

Next, we hit up Gucci, despite the long line of people waiting to go in. While my friend made herself comfortable, I had the lovely sales assistant help me select my newest baby, the Gucci GG Marmont Matelassé Leather Mini Shoulder Bag (here).

I suggested we hit up Sephora as our last stop (the only reason we had gone to the Avenues in the first place), but Mera declined saying it was already 9pm. By the time we walked back to her car and she dropped me home and got back to her home, she said she’d be cutting it too close to her 10pm curfew.

On our way back to the car, I stopped by Chloe.

I’d clocked a gorgeous pair of Sandals when we’d first arrived and had made a mental note to try them on later (on our way back).

Fifteen minutes later, the sales assistant was wrapping these babies up for me, while the manager was handling the transaction.

These babies retailed for KD 304 which was quite dear, but I was completely smitten and therefore hopeless against their charm!

Gucci GG Marmont Pastel Pink Matelassé Leather Mini Shoulder Bag

Like I said in my post Chef LuLu Part 8 (here) an ex-friend and I went to The Avenues on Nov 27 2020.

The plan was to hit up Sephora but instead she ambushed me by parking at Prestige so we could grab dinner at Joe’s.

Afterwards, rather than wander around aimlessly, I decided to check out the Boots over at Prada and Chanel.

I was actually thiiis close to purchasing a Chanel Boy Bag, but it had way too many scratches on it and for that price (KD 1,000), I definitely needed a new one (not available), therefore hard pass.

It was kismet though because over at Saint Laurent, I ended up getting the gorgeous Medium Niki Crinkled Leather Shoulder Bag in Fog (here) – with a 30% discount I might add – and the adorable Baby Lou Quilted Grain De Poudre Embossed Leather Shoulder Bag in Noir (here).

Next, even though there was a very long queue, I made it a point to hit up Gucci (because of my beloved Gucci Boy).

They had a display of newly arrived pastel-y GG Marmont Shoulder Bags which stole my heart instantly! I kinda’ wanted them all lol but at KD 600 a pop, I only got the one.

While my friend plopped down on one of the cushy chairs and asked for some mineral water (basically, milking the experience) and scanned the crowd for a potential husband, I had the sales assistant help me select a bag for myself (my very first Gucci Bag)!

Saint Laurent Baby Lou Noir Quilted Grain De Poudre Embossed Leather Shoulder Bag

Also on Nov 27 while still at Saint Laurent, in addition to the Niki Shoulder Bag (hauled here) I couldn’t resist picking up the Baby Lou Shoulder Bag as well.

Apparently, the Baby Lou was the baby version of the Lou Camera Bag, which I thought was stupid cute!

While the Niki Medium Shoulder Bag cost KD 775 but with the 30% off had been reduced to KD 542/50 saving me KD 232/50 (or so it said on the receipt), the Baby Lou was not on sale and cost a whopping KD 225 (possibly because it was new).

Basically, the money I saved on the Niki Medium Shoulder Bag, was immediately spent on the Baby Lou Shoulder Bag lol

Initially, I thought it was too small (but sooo cute) to justify the price…

Saint Laurent Niki Medium Fog Crinkled Vintage Leather Shoulder Bag

Like I said in my post Chef LuLu Part 8 (here) an ex-friend and I went to The Avenues on Nov 27 2020 for Black Friday.

The plan was to hit up Sephora but instead she parked by Prestige so we could grab dinner at Joe’s.

Afterwards, we popped into Chanel (I wanted to check out their Boots) and then Prada (also for Boots), but didn’t get anything from either of those places.

I didn’t see a line of people outside Saint Laurent so I went in with Mera following me and we both promptly fell in love with the Niki Shoulder Bag!

It was available in the Fog (gorgeous grey, as shown) and Peacock Green (more like a stunning teal).

I kinda’ wanted them both actually, but Mera had clearly fallen in love with the teal one, which is why I didn’t buy it for myself (so she could have it).

She also wouldn’t stop gushing over the Manhattan Shoulder Bag (in beige) yet ended up walking out of Saint Laurent without purchasing either Handbag… which I thought was pretty sus.

Also for whatever reason, certain items were 30% off, including the Niki Shoulder Bags which normally retail for KD 775 but had been reduced to KD 542/500 Score!

Bath and Body Works Third Quarantine Haul

On July 23 2020 I went to The Avenues to return/exchange some stuff that I’d purchased online from Centerpoint (here) and H&M (here).

Aside from that one time Mera and I went to the Starbucks Drive-Thru before swimming (June 19) and the day after, when we went to Five Guys to grab some food before the nationwide curfew (June 20), this was my first real outing since the lockdown!

It felt so strange being back at The Avenues after everything that had gone down.

For starters, everyone including myself, was wearing a mask. It felt so surreal!

There were long queues of people waiting their turn outside every store.

As an added bonus, it was an extra humid day and the ACs were not working, meaning every store at The Avenues was basically a sweat lodge lol

After I’d gotten my Centerpoint stuff sorted out (and I was no longer wheeling a huge shopping cart around the mall) I decided to take a quick peek inside Bath and Body Works (the branch facing Carrefour) and ended up getting a few things from there (on sale).

Full disclosure, my previous order (this) still hadn’t arrived when I picked these babies up.

Centrepoint Collective Haulage (21 Orders)

As I said earlier in my 2020 Post (here), it had been months since I’d left the house. Much like the rest of the world who were under lockdown, I was going stir crazy!

Ordering groceries and personal care items and whatnot from taw9eel.com kept me occupied at first, but it just wasn’t cutting it after a while. I believe I was on Snapchat (which I used to “document” all the food I cooked because… quarantine) when I saw an ad for Centerpoint.

I was delighted to find any online clothing store that was open!

They had a proper website (as opposed to the pdfs and whatever from Victoria’s Secret) and they delivered (even if it was after a week or two after placing my order)! The website was easy to navigate with a few minor issues here and there (for example, the drop down bar).

The major issues I had though…
– There was a 15 item limit per order (which was annoying).
– The way my stuff was packed was a joke (clothes were not properly folded and boxes were open with their contents strewn all over the place).
– The clothes always arrived all dirty and dusty.
– Sometimes they delivered the wrong color or size or a completely different item all together.
– Some items arrived with the security tag still on them.
– Some items didn’t arrive at all.
