So this was my final haul of 2018 and took place at Salmiya branch of Sultan Center (spotted here). I porked up almost immediately (my clothes were noticeably tighter and didn’t fit as well anymore) and I credit this haul for single-handedly causing me to balloon in size… practically over-night lol I’ve gained 7 kg (which is around 15.4 lb) in total since, but whatever (as long as my tummy is happy)!
So it appears that Snyder’s Pretzels are used in these Hershey’s Dipped Pretzels. It also seems that everyone is collabing with everyone else over everything.
So they had this little display set up at Sultan Center (Salmiya). People kept walking into my shot, realizing I was trying to take a pic and stopping halfway through with the deer-in-headlights look on their face. It wasn’t the prettiest display in the world, but it was enough to set off my cousin’s wife who had gone from being a happy-go-lucky Lebanese cutie pie who used to dye her hair regularly and wear jeans and fitted tops, and smoke sheesha in public, to now covering her hair (wearing a hijab) and wearing super loose clothing and being uptight and judgmental about literally everything (after she’d gotten married).
I tried explaining the concept of “live and let live”, but she jumped down my throat and said I was turning my back on my religion so I lost interest in the conversation and instead pointed out other stuff at Sultan Center that she’d find more interesting (to distract her so she’d back off). I really like her, but dang, this us vs them mentality bugs me so much! Moving on to something much lighter…
As I mentioned in my latest “Spotted at Sultan Center” post (here) I picked up a handful of snackage as well as some other random items. I’ll be referencing that post quite a bit in this post (but I won’t keep linking to it), so if you’re interested, feel free to check it out before you continue.
On Halloween, I found myself at Sultan Center (Souq Sharq) with a few friends, because we needed stuff… for stuff, y’know?
Nesquik Chocolate Flavoured Cereal
x2 Coco Mojo Pure Coconut Water
So I’ve been on the hunt for Coco Mojo Pure Coconut Water ever since I randomly chose a can of the stuff at Sultan Center (Salmiya) and promptly fell in love (here)! Unfortunately, I could never find the stuff at the Souq Sharq branch of Sultan Center, which frankly, is more accessible to me (since I don’t enjoy the traffic jams on my to Salmiya). I figured the only way I could ever find the stuff was to go back to where I originally bought it, the Salmiya branch. Sadly, I didn’t find the steel can version. I did however, find a much larger version (1 Liter/33.8 fl oz). I spotted these 2 nestled in the refrigerated dairy section (amidst flavored yogurt and such), so I cradled them in my arms and made my way to the cash register.
This is what my Sultan Center hauls look like when I’m not shopping on an empty stomach (lawl). I just picked up a few sachets of Nescafe (spotted here) to try to find a new favorite instant hot drink and some Tortilla Chips and Salsa (always craving the stuff).
I visited both the Souq Sharq branch and the Promenade branch of Sultan Center on separate days during the month of September, but decided to group them together for this post.
Basically, I keep running out of either the Chunky Salsa (Medium) or Tostitos Hint of Lime Tortilla Chips (which is all I’ve been craving recently). As long as it’s not Hot (which makes my nose run, eyes water, ears turn red, tongue swell up and lips feel like they’re on fire) nor Mild (which is tasteless), I’m not picky about which brand of Salsa I get. My only prerequisites are that it’s Chunky (with veggies) and Medium (has a kick to it), which is generally easy to find at any branch. Sadly, the Tostitos Hint of Lime Tortilla Chips are less easy to find (they appear in and out of stock at random), which is why I’m always on a scavenger hunt of sorts (because I never know if they’re in stock or not) at Sultan Center.
With that being said, I’m happy to report that I spotted those delicious Chips Ahoy! Brownie Filled Chocolate Chip Cookies (reviewed here) in all the branches! I didn’t get any, because like I said, I’ve only been craving Tortilla Chips and Salsa recently. However, it’s nice to see the Chips Ahoy! Brownie Filled Chocolate Chip Cookies available in large quantities. Plus, Chips Ahoy! even partnered up with Microsoft to come up with a little promo featuring one of the games (Sea Of Thieves) on Xbox One. I’ve never heard of that game before, but still, what a fun idea!
