Sultan Center Groceries Haul (Jan 2021)

I was feeling physically weak on and off, all throughout January, but I was having a particularly bad day

So…

I decided to go grocery shopping, as one does.

To be honest, thanks to the lockdown, I had discovered that I quite enjoyed cooking! I actually found it therapeutic. More than that, I enjoyed the fact that the people I cared for enjoyed my cooking, saying I had a knack for it.

Since I needed to get ingredients for certain recipes that I was gonna’ try making later on, not to mention the fact that I’d been wanting to introduce healthier food to the kids (my nieces and nephew lived on chicken nuggs), I figured I might as well hit up Sultan Center.

The Souq Sharq branch was my favorite because I found it quite peaceful (barely any people, most of the time) and I knew where everything was placed by heart. Also, there was always plenty of parking space outside.

First, I hit up the top floor (where all the Cookware/Bakeware used to be), grabbed a few things and made my way back to the ground floor.

Sultan Center Haul (Jan 2021)

Out of all the grocery stores in Kuwait, my favorite was The Sultan Center!

The Soug Sharg/Souq Sharq branch, to be more exact.

I knew the layout by heart.

I’d walk in, wheeling my shopping cart through the fresh produce aisle at the entrance, making a mental note of all the things I’d circle back for (mainly those lil apples).

Usually, I’d place the frozen stuff and fresh produce stuff in my shopping cart last, so they wouldn’t melt or defrost or wilt or spoil or whatever.

I’d skip the organic stuff aisle (eww healthy stuff) up until I got to the personal care aisle and snag some makeup remover, cotton pads, face wash, etc… The other side would have shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, facing each other.

I’d skip the cleaning supplies aisle up until I got to the cooking stuff aisle (sauces and other condiments). I’d grab a few tins of baked beans or a box of pasta or whatever else I was craving. Then move on on to the next aisle and fill up my cart accordingly.

Eventually, I’d make it to the cookies and biscuits aisle which would be facing the chocolates aisle and on the other side, the candy aisle facing the potato chips aisle.

I’d check for my beloved Coco Mojo in the unrefrigerated drinks section before hitting up the refrigerated section (all the way towards the end) where I’d grab some bacon, smoked turkey, fruit yogurt, etc… and work my way back to the fresh produce aisle (walking freezer-side to keep an eye out for ice-cream or frozen pizza that looked particularly yummy).

Finally, I’d circle back to the fresh produce aisle, pick up some grapes or apples or whatever my latest recipe called for, and head towards the checkout counter.

Sadly, that’s all out the window because they renovated the place and the entire layout is completely different now!

The frozen section is right across the fresh produce section (which is convenient tbh) but I don’t like the rest of the layout :(

I noticed the renovations starting around April but before that, I hit up Sultan Center in January.

Sultan Center Haulage (Souq Sharq) (Sept 2020)

After hitting up Debenhams (here) and Bath & Body Works (here) and The Body Shop (here), I finally made it to Sultan Center.

Between my brother and his wife’s weekly visits to the local co-op, and my online orders from taw9eel.com (My Pantry), we were all set on groceries.

So, this haul was mostly snackage (stuff I couldn’t find online) and personal care stuff (face wash, cotton pads, etc…)

The Body Shop BOGO Haul (Sept 2020)

After hitting up Debenhams (here) and Bath & Body Works (here), I hotfooted it to The Body Shop (across from Aldo), as my last stop, before exiting the mall and heading towards Sultan Center.

I was in desperate need of the Reviving Pumice Foot Scrub. I wasn’t running low on the stuff… I’d already run out!

This stuff was a forever-favorite and therefore a constant repurchase (here)!

Using this stuff on my feet felt amazing! I’m not one for massages, but this stuff was practically a foot massage in a jar! It felt so good! That’s why it was my absolute favorite!

Bath and Body Works Mini BOGO Haul (Sept 2020)

Next, I hit up Bath & Body Works which was nestled between Victoria’s Secret and MAC, working my way from the far left of the mall (Debenhams). I did take a quick lap around Boots. I also noticed that they’d opened up a Nyx which I had to visit as well.

Bath & Body Works were having a Buy One Get One Free (BOGO) promo going on at the time, but I couldn’t find any interesting scents.

Eventually, I settled on getting Travel-Size Shower Gels in the scents Gingham (because it was their feature scent) and Perfect Peony (because it listed vanilla sandalwood in the notes). They both ended up being too floral for me.

Normally, the Travel-Size Shower Gels retail for KD 2/750 each, but I payed just that for both.

Debenhams Haul (Sept 2020)

On September 22 2020, I wanted to go to Sultan Center. I figured since I was heading to Souq Sharq anyway, I might as well hit up the mall first.

Starting from all the way to the right of the mall, I took a quick lap around Debenhams (even though I’ve sworn against it, on account of the vultures) and ended up getting a few things.

High Heel Wood Sandals

Faith Black Leather Sandals
Faith Tan Leather Sandals
Michael Kors Brown Leather Sandals

Back in the day, we didn’t have as many malls and stores in Kuwait (less options). So, I was beyond excited when a cute lil store that I’d read about in my UK-edition magazines opened up in Souq Sharq (I believe it used to be where Boots is currently located) called Faith. I wanna’ say this was back in the early 2000’s lol The store has since been replaced, but they’ve got a corner in Debenhams dedicated solely (heehee) to footwear by the brand Faith.

From the store when it was open, I purchased a cute pair of lemon thong kitten heel sandals (to pair with a tennis skirt and polo shirt) which I’ve since given away. I also purchased a sexy pair of black leather sandals (previously mentioned here) and tan leather sandals. I became equally obsessed with both the black and tan sandals!

In any case, once the tan sandals started looking too ratty, I decided to go online (amazon.com) and purchase a sorta’ similar pair, which happened to be by the brand Michael Kors (as shown) but I never fell in love with them.

Just like with my Handbags (in-depth chit-chat here), I tend to enjoy Shoes with a somewhat less common texture or look.

Sultan Center Small Personal Care Haul

Can’t very well go to Souq Sharq without making a quick stop at Sultan Center, now can I?

Since I inhaled the snackage, I’ve only got the Personal Care items to show ya’. I picked up some Shampoo (looked new) and my favorite Conditioner and my favorite Makeup Remover and some Toothpaste.
