Back in the day, we didn’t have as many malls and stores in Kuwait (less options). So, I was beyond excited when a cute lil store that I’d read about in my UK-edition magazines opened up in Souq Sharq (I believe it used to be where Boots is currently located) called Faith. I wanna’ say this was back in the early 2000’s lol The store has since been replaced, but they’ve got a corner in Debenhams dedicated solely (heehee) to footwear by the brand Faith.
From the store when it was open, I purchased a cute pair of lemon thong kitten heel sandals (to pair with a tennis skirt and polo shirt) which I’ve since given away. I also purchased a sexy pair of black leather sandals (previously mentioned here) and tan leather sandals. I became equally obsessed with both the black and tan sandals!
In any case, once the tan sandals started looking too ratty, I decided to go online (amazon.com) and purchase a sorta’ similar pair, which happened to be by the brand Michael Kors (as shown) but I never fell in love with them.
Just like with my Handbags (in-depth chit-chat here), I tend to enjoy Shoes with a somewhat less common texture or look.
Can’t very well go to Souq Sharq without making a quick stop at Sultan Center, now can I?
Since I inhaled the snackage, I’ve only got the Personal Care items to show ya’. I picked up some Shampoo (looked new) and my favorite Conditioner and my favorite Makeup Remover and some Toothpaste.
I popped by Boots at Souq Sharq to repurchase the Build-Up Removal Shampoo and my favorite Eyeliner.
These are the twin Zara Trapeze Bags from the Trafaluc Collection that I mentioned in My Story: Handbags post (dis). I purchased them along with the Zara Black Peony Eau de Parfum (dis) from the Souq Sharq branch of Zara around 2013, I believe.
I clocked it in Black (my go to) and Tan (which I was slowly warming up to, at the time) and couldn’t decide between the two, so I got both.
This thing was huge! I’m talkin’, fill it up with junk (full size Perfume, full size Body Lotion, Large Notebook to jot down stuff, Cardigan for when it gets chilly, Makeup Bag for “on-the-go touch-ups”, change of Shoes for when Heels start to hurt, pair of jammies for sleepovers, iPad/Laptop or both, Hair Dryer, etc…) and add a large fluffy Towel on top huge! My guy friends would repeatedly ask me how was I was carrying this thing around, because it was pretty heavy, but to be fair, I did fill it up with, well, everything lol
Other than the main compartment being pretty huge, it also had a zippered pocket for smaller knick-knacks that I didn’t want to get lost in the the larger main compartment. Right across the zippered pocket were some other flat pockets in different sizes (for Pens and Lipgloss and sometimes a Makeup Brush).
The outside consisted of pebbled leather, while the inside consisted of… I wanna say canvas? Other than the random Pink Tab, the inside was mostly Beige. The hardware was more of a non-reflective tarnished Gold. These Trapeze Bags came with Top Handles, but also nice and long adjustable straps, which was super convenient! It meant I could carry this thing by the Handles or loop it around my shoulder as a Cross-Body Bag!
Unfortunately, these aren’t the most flattering pictures ever, but I tried lol
A moment of silence for the Red Herring Green Pebbled Leather Hobo Bag, RIP
This was the Green Pebbled Leather Bag I referenced in My Story: Handbags post (dis). I thought I’d gotten rid of it, but I guess not. I found it in one of the boxes, and as I was smoothing it out (it was all smushed), it literally started disintegrating in my hands lol To be fair, I got this thing around March, either 2009 or 2010 (from Debenhams at Souq Sharq, while on a lunch date with my cousin).
I wasn’t even planning on going in to MAC (especially since I had the little monsters with me), up until I clocked the display for the crazy cute Limited Edition Fix+. One thing led to another and I ended up leaving with these 2 cuties! They were sorta’ repurchases and sorta’ not. I’m just really having a moment with all things Mini/Travel-Size! They’re cuter, cheaper (not necessarily cost-effective but whatevs) and easier to carry around or store!
Not sure how many items from the 60-Piece Summer Collection actually made it to our lil Kuwait, but from what I can see, there’s plenty to appeal to everyone! Aside from the usual Shower Gels and Body Lotions and Body Creams, you’ve also got Hand Creams and Hand Soaps and Body Scrubs and Fragrance Mists and Hair Perfumes and Candles to choose from. Plus, you have the option of going for either the full sizes or the cuter travel sizes! The scents are appropriately tropical and summer-y, while the packaging this time is quite fun, and the names are all simply delightful! Honestly, the Summer 2019 Collection really is worth checking out!
Like I said earlier, my niece had run out of her Havana Fragrance Mist in the travel-size (dis) and asked if I could get her another one. So when I took the kids to see Toy Story 4 at Souq Sharq (fully gory deets here), we hit up Fantasy World and MAC (dis) and Bath&Body Works before the movie, and Sultan Center after the movie (dis) .
At B&BW I got the Havana Fragrance Mist for my niece, and the Tahiti Shower Gel and Bahamas Body Cream for myself, all in the travel-size versions. As always, there was a “Buy 2, Get 1 Free” deal, which meant the lowest priced item ended up being free.
I was running
low out of my Personal Care favorites and had to replenish my stock. By now, regular readers will know that my “go to” was Sultan Center (Souq Sharq). While there, I snatched up some random snackage, which turned out to be yummy! Unfortunately, I seem to have lost the receipt (meaning no prices will be listed).
