Country Apple (retired fragrance)
Coconut Lime Breeze (retired fragrance)
Oahu Coconut Sunset (retired fragrance)
Cashmere Glow (retired fragrance)
Sensual Amber (retired fragrance)
Raspberry Sugar (holiday traditions)

Little Black Party Dress (all that glitters)
Fresh Sparkling Snow (all that glitters)
Twinkling Nights (all that glitters)

Shower Gels normally retail for $12.50 (KD 3/800) each

They had a Buy 3, Get 3 Free promo on Body Care. Also, 20% Off the entire order. So, I decided to get the rest of the Shower Gels that I had my heart set on (from the ones that were still in stock), especially since all the Shower Gels in my 1st U.S. B&BW Online Order (here) turned out to be great!

I feel like I got a nice mix of scents this time too, ranging from warm to fresh to fruity to gourmand and even floral (I was feeling adventurous)!

Again, at the time of my second order, my first order (haulage here) hadn’t even shipped.

Settle in with a nice mug of whatever you drink and a cozy shawl or whatever because this post is going to be… a novel lol

1st US Bath and Body Works Candle Haul

These are the 3-Wick Candles (forgot to take a group pic, whoops) that I purchased in my 1st US Bath & Body Works Online Order (dis)!

Normally, 3-Wick Candles retail for $24.50 each (around KD8) but they were reduced to $12.50 each (around KD4) during one of the promos.

Not quite sure what’s going on with all the different cardboard packaging, but I don’t really care. As long these suckas reached me intact (unlike our local Bath & Body Works *ahem*), I’m gucci.

Even cooler and unlike the 3-Wick Candles in Kuwait, these babies actually had the fragrance notes listed on the bottom of each Candle!

In the interest of full disclosure, the 3-Wick Candles seriously bumped up my Aramex shipping charges, but whatevs, I earns mah monies so I can does withs it what I wants and I wants Bath & Body Works 3-Wick Candles from the newest Holiday Collection shipped from the United States of America, straight to my doorstep.

Lastly, most of these were new-new so don’t expect to see them in Kuwait anytime soon. They’ll probably be available for purchase in Kuwait towards the end of 2020 (being passed off as “new”). So, once the Holiday 2020 Collection drops in the States, only then will the Holiday 2019 Collection be available for purchase in Kuwait.

Now, on to the pretty!

Bath and Body Works Shower Gel Haul

The new Fall Traditions 2019 Collection popped up online and as time went on, they added a “sneak peak” of the Holiday 2018 Collection (which was being marketed as “new” even though it was last year’s collection).

I’ve spoken about the local Bath&Body Works tricking customers into believing they were purchasing the latest Holiday Collection except it was always already 12 months old, several times now.

That said, beggars can’t be choosers and when they had an online deal on Shower Gels, it was just too good to pass up. So, I quickly placed my order and picked up some of the stuff I’d been lusting after (sadly, Hot Cocoa & Cream Shower Gel was excluded from the promo and was going for full price… sneaky, sneaky).

Online Promo:
Shower Gels were reduced from KD 5/500 to KD 1/750 each
PocketBacs were 5 for KD 3

The total for this online order was KD 10

I placed my order on November 16 and it arrived safely the next day (free shipping over KD 9)

Currently, for “Black Friday” they’ve got 40% Off Sitewide and free shipping, meaning Shower Gels were reduced from KD 5/500 to KD 3/300.

So… I’m pretty much patting myself on the back for not waiting and taking advantage of the previous deal and purchasing these Shower Gels for KD 1/750 a pop (she said ever so smugly)!

Kilian Apple Brandy Eau de Parfum Haul

The Autumn Perfumes Exhibition took place at Mishref Fair Grounds (Halls 5,6,7,8) during October 24 and was meant to end on November 6, but was extended to November 9 (because… weekend).

I managed to get a lot of gift shopping out of the way:
(Yves Saint Laurent La Nuit de L’Homme EDP for my cousin)
(Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium EDP for my cousin’s wife)
(Guerlain Mon Guerlain EDP for my uncle’s wife)
(Paco Rabanne Invictus Gift Set for my other cousin)

I also managed to snag several goodies for myself:
(Carolina Herrera Good Girl Gift Set)
(Marc Jacobs Decadence EDP)
(Hugo Boss Boss The Scent Private Accord – For Her EDP)
(Maison Lancome Les Parfums Grands Crus Travel Set x4 travel sprays)

Thankfully, there were a lot of good deals on some of this stuff (hefty discounts) and I even got some fragrance samples to boot! Unlike last year’s visit where I ended up with some duds (Perfume Fails), I was extremely happy with everything I purchased during this year’s Autumn Perfumes Exhibition! All the haulage took place in one hall (dis) because I rarely ventured out to the other halls.

Satisfied with the haulage, I leisurely surveyed the hall (the only one I ever visit) one last time before leaving the place and was delighted to find several niche brands including Amouage and Memo and Kilian and more, all offering substantially discounted fragrances! Naturally, I had to hit up the Kilian booth!

I sniffed several scents at the Kilian booth, but none of them really appealed to me… until I smelled Apple Brandy! I’d never even seen, let alone heard of Apple Brandy at our local Sephora before (pics here), because apparently Apple Brandy was exclusive to the brand’s boutique in New York City. It was love at first sniff!!!!

The final fragrance I purchased during this year’s Autumn Perfumes Exhibition was Apple Brandy by Kilian!

Marc Jacobs Decadence Eau de Parfum Haul

The Autumn Perfumes Exhibition took place at Mishref Fair Grounds (Halls 5,6,7,8) during October 24 and was meant to end on November 6, but was extended to November 9 (because… weekend).

After walking around for a bit, I found a booth (forgot the name) that sold fragrances from several brands including Paco Rabanne (where I purchased the Invictus Gift Set as a birthday gift for my cousin) and Calvin Klein and Jimmy Choo and Marc Jacobs and Carolina Herrera (where I also purchased the Good Girl Gift Set for myself) and Jean Paul Gaultier and more (can’t remember the rest).

Initially, I was more interested in Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal, but sadly they were already sold out and the obnoxious sales assistant kept trying to push the new floral version on me, Scandal Paris. Thankfully, he had to leave the place for whatever reason and a much nicer and more helpful sales assistant took his place.

The accommodating sales assistant stepped aside (so I could see behind him), which is when I clocked Marc Jacobs Decadence Eau de Parfum. He informed me those were the last two pieces and that was that. I was sold!

Victoria’s Secret Haulage

Rush (Signature Collection) – Velvet Petals (Signature Collection) – Jasmine Noir (Midnight Blooms Collection) – Afterparty Angel (Fashion Show Collection) – Glitter Hustle (Disco Nights Collection) – Shot of Coconut (Juiced Collection)

Like I said in my previous post (here), they brought out all the Limited Edition Collections of the past year (Fashion Show Collection – Angel Collection – Disco Nights Collection, etc…) and knocked them down to half price, whereas the Signature Collection (permanent and can be purchased at any time from any branch) in the old-school packaging (Love Spell – Pure Seduction – Aqua Kiss, etc…) as well as all the newer collections (Cozy Collection – Midnight Blooms Collection – Star Struck Collection, etc…) retailed for KD 7 (full price) but were included in a “Buy 2, Get 1 Free” promo.

I ended up getting 2 from the Signature Collection (plain packaging) for KD 7 each, qualifying me for a third one, either from the Signature Collection or any of the newer collections (for free) so I chose Jasmine Noir (newer collection). The other 3 (Afterparty Angel – Glitter Hustle – Shot of Coconut) were not included in the “Buy 2, Get 1 Free” promo, since they were from older collections, but they had all been reduced to only KD 3/500 each. As you can see from the plain packaging, the first two (Rush + Velvet Petals) were from Signature Collection (permanent), whereas the rest were all Limited Edition.

I had a wonderful time sniffing and playing around with all those Fragrance Mists! I could’ve stayed there forever! Best of all, the sales assistants left me alone (to play in peace), for the most part, because they were so busy with other customers!

Nordstrom December Haulage

I was really happy with my previous haulage from Nordstrom (here) so when I noticed that they were having another really cool promo, I decided to place another order. Plus, it was mah birthday (not that I needed an excuse to shop, since we’ve already established that I’m clearly a shopaholic). Basically, the promo was if you spent $135 (around KD 40) on Fragrances (including Eau de Toilettes and Eau de Perfumes and even Scented Candles), you qualified for the Gift With Purchase, which happened to be a pack of Fragrance Samples (haulage here)! As you can see, the items arrived individually wrapped in packing paper, in a rather large (practically empty) cardboard box also stuffed with packing paper. It’s not pretty, but hey, it works (everything arrived safely and undamaged)!

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Gift Set ($155 Value) retails for $103 (KD 33/700)

-Trish McEvoy No. 9 Blackberry & Vanilla Musk Refillable Pen Spray (.2 oz./6mL) (Limited Edition) retails for $32 (KD 10/500)

– beautyblender Sweet Surprise Set (Limited Edition) ($28 Value) retails for $20 (KD 6/500)

Fragrance Samples Pack (gift with purchase) (haulage here)

Samples Pack (free with every order)

Spotted at Sephora (Perfumes)

I was at Sephora shopping for a birthday present for someone who was extremely difficult to shop for. While there, I hunted down a few of the Perfumes on my list that I’ve been dying to sniff (mostly Lancome). On a whim, I decided to check out some of the “private” and “exclusive” luxury fragrances (Tom Ford and Armani Prive and Maison Lancome and Geurlain and so on) and accidentally stumbled upon Kilian! I don’t know if an invisibility spell was cast on the display, but somehow I’ve never ever noticed it before! As per usual, there were no sales assistants designated to any of the displays and customers were just left to their own devices. I searched for Back to Black (because frag-heads on YouTube rave about it all the time) but couldn’t find it. I did however find my new favorite Perfume of life, but more on that towards the end of this post…

My Perfume Samples Haulage

So my obsession with Perfumes was at its peak. However, I didn’t want to purchase them locally because they’d be more expensive and I wouldn’t receive anything else with them (as a gift with purchase or loyalty points or whatever else) no matter how extortionate the price was, and and I wouldn’t know if I was getting an older batch (potentially expired) and worst of all, I wouldn’t know if they were fake or not, but mostly I was anxious about purchasing locally because of this (Perfume Fail). If I bought them online, they’d be new, less expensive and more often than not, I’d receive a gift with purchase or samples or something. However, I wouldn’t be able to give them a sniff beforehand, and based on previous experience, I’m not really the luckiest when it comes to blind-buys.

Even though I’d love to, I couldn’t sign up for those monthly subscription boxes (such as Scentbird and the like) because the cost of shipping to Kuwait via Aramex, would add up to something ridiculous. In comes MyPerfumeSamples.com which was exactly what it sounded like! You pick out the scents that you wanted and the sizes that you preferred (with the pricing varying from scent to scent) and they’d ship them over. Up on the website, each scent had the fragrance notes and the year it was released and so on, listed next to it. I purchased a handful, in varied sizes.

Sample Vials: smallest size and cheapest, comes with a dip-stick applicator (I only got 1)
Pocket Sprays: bit bigger, comes with a spray mechanism and a cap (I got 5)
Travel Sprays: substantially larger, comes with a spray mechanism and a cap, wider spread (I purchased 6 but only 5 arrived)

Each sample came in a plastic sachet of it’s own, with the name of the scent printed on the actual sample (so handy!) and they were all packed together in a bubble-wrapped package within a package. Since looking at plain samples can get boring, I decided to add photos of the actual perfume bottles as well. Now on to the Perfumes (samples) that I’d ordered…

Bath and Body Works – Henri Bendel Scented Candles

This is what happens when you try to resist the temptation.

I love things that smell nice! Anything that has a pleasant scent just brings me such joy! Perfume, Shower Gel, Wallflowers, Soaps, Body Lotion, Lip Balm, you name it! Scented Candles, obviously fall into that category. Unfortunately, as Cardi B so eloquently put it, “these expensive” (granted she meant Louboutins, not Candles, but same thing). I mean, even with their usual Buy Two Get One Free “deal”, at KD 7/500 (exactly $25 U.S. Dollars) a piece, it kinda’ adds up. It’s fine if you buy a (as in one, as in single) Scented Candle, every once in a blue moon (for special occasions, birthday gift, whatever) but when you buy several at a time (practically stockpiling them), during every single visit, as I tend to do, it becomes a problem. Especially when you consider the fact that not every scent I buy is a “win” (pitiful throw, burns all weird, smelled nicer in-store, etc…). Factor in my tendency to break them (they literally keep slipping out of my hands), the latest victim being a virtually untouched (as unburnt as Daenarys) Tiki Beach Candle (hauled here) and I’m practically hemorrhaging money (okay, maybe I’m exaggerating… slightly). As such, I decided to boycott Bath & Body Works (as mentioned here).

I stayed away from Bath & Body Works for about 7 or 8 months (since the start of March up until the end of September 2017), before finally caving and going back for some Handsoaps (hauled here). Like someone who’d quit smoking for years, but got sucked right back in, from a single drag on a cigarette, I was back with a vengeance! After forgoing Scented Candles for so long, I kinda’ went cray and overdid it, especially considering these Henri Bendel Signature Candles (why are Henri Bendel Signature Candles being sold at Bath & Body Works again?) were actually KD 10/500 (exactly $35 U.S. Dollars) each, which is pretty steep, but there was a Buy 3 Get 3 Free “deal”, so there’s that. Plus, these are Henri Bendel Candles after all, so there’s that too. Truthfully, if Scented Candles make me happy, in this cold and cruel yet beautiful world, then by God, Scented Candles I will buy!
