Not sure how many items from the 60-Piece Summer Collection actually made it to our lil Kuwait, but from what I can see, there’s plenty to appeal to everyone! Aside from the usual Shower Gels and Body Lotions and Body Creams, you’ve also got Hand Creams and Hand Soaps and Body Scrubs and Fragrance Mists and Hair Perfumes and Candles to choose from. Plus, you have the option of going for either the full sizes or the cuter travel sizes! The scents are appropriately tropical and summer-y, while the packaging this time is quite fun, and the names are all simply delightful! Honestly, the Summer 2019 Collection really is worth checking out!
Like I said earlier, my niece had run out of her Havana Fragrance Mist in the travel-size (dis) and asked if I could get her another one. So when I took the kids to see Toy Story 4 at Souq Sharq (fully gory deets here), we hit up Fantasy World and MAC (dis) and Bath&Body Works before the movie, and Sultan Center after the movie (dis) .
At B&BW I got the Havana Fragrance Mist for my niece, and the Tahiti Shower Gel and Bahamas Body Cream for myself, all in the travel-size versions. As always, there was a “Buy 2, Get 1 Free” deal, which meant the lowest priced item ended up being free.
As I mentioned earlier (dis) I got a text that the “Big Sale” was on. It’d started ages ago, but I only got the text when it was halfway over (about a week or so left, from today).
As per usual, the newer (cooler) stuff was not included in the sale, and the stuff that was on sale was mostly unpleasant scents (eucalyptus candles, floral-y fragrance mists, rancid smelling shower gels and foaming hand soaps, etc…). Everything looked and felt, all gross and sticky (from being played around with by people). Nothing interested me, so I decided to bounce.
Honestly, I thought Bath&Body Works were totally done with those Deep Cleansing Hand Soaps (had phased them out and stopped making them, in favor of focusing solely on Foaming Hand Soaps… which saddened me), but on my way out, I clocked a few! I was pretty excited because those Deep Cleansing Hand Soaps were my favorites!
They had them in the scents Honolulu Sun and Sun-Washed Citrus and Rainforest Gardenia (all in the correlating watercolor-y packaging) and oddly enough, Endless Weekend (same packaging as the one I got 6 months ago). That said, the scents didn’t blow my mind. I searched high and low for any other scents, but apparently they had rows and rows of only those 4.
Since the scent of Endless Weekend was meh (dis) and I was quite wary of Rainforest Gardenia (because… floral), I made do with Sun-Washed Citrus and Honolulu Sun.
With the kids still in tow, we popped by Bath & Body Works (Souq Sharq). I’d seen the new Summer Collection earlier (over at The Avenues branch), but hadn’t actually given anything a proper sniff.
As soon as we walked in, I could smell my beloved Pineapple Orchid Candle (haulage here). I traced the scent to Bahamas Pink Passionfruit & Banana Flower Mist (which was part of the new Summer Collection).
Since I was all stocked up on well, everything, I figured I’d just get the Travel-Size Mist (although small, they pack quite a wallop… depending on the scent you choose) and since they had a Buy 2 Get 3rd Free deal on Travel-Size Mists, I let the girls each pick out one of their own. Then, by the cash register, I picked up a PocketBac and let the elder two each pick out one of their own, because there happened to be a Buy 2 Get 3rd Free deal on PocketBacs too.
As per usual, everything was over-priced, but that’s Bath & Body Works for ya’!
Tropical: Sunset Sweet, Papaya and Pineapple Scent
I took a pic of the entire range – or at least the ones that made it to Kuwait – in my “Spotted at Boots” post (here). Like I said, initially, I was drawn to Fruity because of the adorable packaging but ended up going with Tropical based on the scent. I wish we’d gotten the fun ones too, like Galactic and Unicorn, but hey, beggars can’t be choosers and I’m so glad we even got these in Kuwait at all!
At the Perfume & Makeup Exhibition (here), despite the fact that I actually said “no, thanks”, a sales assistant near the entrance, had gone ahead and spritzed some of Elie Saab Girl of Now (blue petals) on me. I glared at him angrily before continuing on my way (to check out the other booths). After some time, I noticed an interesting yet not unpleasant scent (a distinctly creamy sweet mixture of almonds and possibly hazelnut) emanating from where he’d sprayed my bomber jacket. So, once I was ready to leave the place, on my way out, I went back to his booth and asked to purchase the perfume he’d rudely yet cunningly spritzed on me earlier, which was Elie Saab Girl of Now.
