My First Essence Haul (Online)

The first Essence item I bought was a Nude Pencil Eyeliner online from Ulta.com (back when they used to accept my online credit card, around 2008 or 2009).

Many years later, I spotted Essence locally at Carrefour (spotted here).

In 2017 I picked up a selection of products from the Essence counter at Carrefour (haulage here).

Then again in January 2019 where I fell in love with one of their Mascaras (here) and repurchased it again on July 2019 (here).

Rather than having to rely on local vendors (because who knew how old the stuff they were selling even was), on February 5th 2020, I placed my first online order directly with Essence.

The website was fairly simple to navigate. Unfortunately, they didn’t have a wide variety of products and shade colors to choose from.

That said, I was only interested in repurchasing my favorite Mascara. The rest was purchased just to test out the brand.

All their products were Cruelty Free and Vegan and Paraben Free and oddly enough, some were Gluten Free (not joking).

The total was $40.32 with tax (after I’d used a $10 off coupon code).

Carrefour Haul (July)

I’d been meaning to hit up Carrefour (Avenues) to repurchase the Essence Lash Princess Sculpted Volume Mascara. Plus, our driver couldn’t find my beloved Torabika Cappuccino Instant Coffee in any of the local cooperatives. Plus, my older brother wanted me to pick up some Beef Jerky for him. Plus, my younger brother wanted me to pick up some Americana Mini Croissants to take to work with him (for his coworkers). Plus, the last time I’d popped in to Carrefour was back in January (dis) so it’s been a minute.

Carrefour Haulage (January)

Once again, I was at the Avenues and on my way back to my car, popped by Carrefour to replenish my stock of Jack Link’s Beef Jerky and pick up another Colgate 360 Toothbrush (every time I open up a new one to start using, I like to go out and purchase a back-up as quickly as possible, especially since I don’t always find these babies at any given local co-op).

While there, I couldn’t resist picking up these bars of KitKat because the name of the flavor (Cookie Crumble) made me lol Inspired by recent success with Lux Soap (here), I decided to try out a random scent, which smelled nice in-store, but was so floral and just awful during use!

At the Makeup Aisle, I was completely smitten with a Maybelline Nail Polish in the most delicious shade of coffee brown that was appropriately named Dark Roast! Keeping up with the chocolate-y theme (you know how much I love my themes), I snatched up a tiny pot of Cocoa Butter Body Cream from the brand Himalaya (or Himalaya Herbals? I dunno… it’s just one of those brands that’s always been around, in every drugstore and local co-op, since the beginning of time) to stash in my car for when I forget to moisturize. Lastly, I hit up the Essence counter and picked up a few things (more on that below).
