On September 28, Mera came over and brought lunch. Afterwards, I got dressed in my H&M Grey Mom Jeans (hauled here) and we went to The Avenues.
We were going to check out the new Hilton Garden Inn (which had just opened up at the time), because we were thinking of taking the kids and spending the night there. We wanted to pretend we were traveling abroad (because traveling for fun wasn’t a thing anymore, on account of the pandemic).
The rooms were pretty basic and the view was abysmal (you can see the room and what I was wearing, here) so we opted out. Instead, I suggested we make dinner reservation at Trapani, one of my favorite restaurants in Kuwait.
While we waited for them to call us for our reservation, we browsed around the mall. We hit up Boots (tiny store), but didn’t get anything from there. Then we went to Etude House, which I knew had opened up some time ago, but had never gotten a chance to visit.
The place looked like it had been ransacked! Shelves were half-empty. Everything had been picked over. Just what exactly had happened here? Undeterred, I managed to snag a few items.
After hitting up Debenhams (here) and Bath & Body Works (here) and The Body Shop (here), I finally made it to Sultan Center.
Between my brother and his wife’s weekly visits to the local co-op, and my online orders from taw9eel.com (My Pantry), we were all set on groceries.
So, this haul was mostly snackage (stuff I couldn’t find online) and personal care stuff (face wash, cotton pads, etc…)
I just wanted to pick up another Nivea (For Men) Shaving Foam (full review here) and ended up getting another one of those Colgate 360 Toothbrushes (this time in Gold… yuck), some really cute Bandaids (can’t resist those) and Tweezers (neon). Cool Kick seems to have been renamed to Fresh & Cool now. Hey, as long as it performs the same, they could call it Chemicals in a Can, for all I care.
5 Plants Vitalizing Shampoo
Real infusion of vitality and enjoyment for normal hair that is weak and tired. The new shampoo Garnier Ultra Doux draws the essence of 5 natural plants selected for their complimentary benefits:
- Green Tea known to be a source of vitality
- Lemon known to bring shine
- Eucalyptus for its refreshing nature
- Nettle known for its anti-sebum properties, and for making the hair lighter
- Vervain well known for its softening and soothing characteristics
Its melting gel, silicon-free texture, respects your hair needs for use on a daily basis without weighing it down. Its fragrance which is combined with green fresh notes provides a feeling of well-being.
I keep seeing these new(er) Ultra Doux Shampoo and Conditioners by Garnier, in stores all over the country. I’ve been meaning to try them out for quite some time now, but could never make up my mind on which ones to get. Off the top of my head, I remember seeing one featuring Honey that came in correlating yellow packaging, another featuring Olive Extracts in correlating green packaging, and another in brighter green packaging featuring 5 Plants (Lemon, Green Tea, Eucalyptus, Nettle and Verveine). For some reason, the 5 Plants line has several variations on its name (depending on the region, mayhaps?) for example, Vitalizing Shampoo (which is what I got) is also called Vitality Shampoo in some countries and Revitalizing Shampoo in others. Even Ultra Doux is called Ultra Blends in some regions and something completely different in others. Regardless of what it’s called, the Ultra Doux range is paraben-free and silicon-free (for those who worry about that kinda’ thing). I purchased Garnier Ultra Doux 5 Plants Vitilizing Shampoo (hauled here) from Sultan Center awhile ago and will definitely be repurchasing it again and again and again…
I’ve mentioned this product in this post (here) but this unsung hero deserves a whole blog post of it’s very own. Again, I’ve tried many, many, many shaving products (ranging from shaving soaps, shaving gels, shaving foam, shaving cream, etc…) from many different brands. The one product I keep returning to, happens to be from Nivea. I’ll stray, from time to time, and try out different products from different brands, but Nivea is one of the brands that offers a pretty decent selection of shaving products, in several forms (foam, cream, gel). Out of the handful of products I’ve tried from them, my favorite by far is Nivea Cool Kick Shaving Foam.
