City Center Shuwaikh Hypermarket (Jan 2021)

Back in the day, I used to work in a company located in Shuwaikh.

I spent many years there, enough to notice them emptying the lot, preparing for what was to be a new City Center Hypermarket.

They had already begun the construction work by the time I left.

I switched jobs and consequentially locations, and never got to check out the Shuwaikh branch of City Center… until now.

Truthfully, I was on the hunt for hangers.

My closet was finally finished and I needed a ton of hangers and was looking to buy them in bulk.

While I did not find any decent hangers, I did manage to grab a few “healthy” snacks.

Collective Snackage Haulage (Sultan Center Souq Sharq, Sultan Center Salmiya, City Center Salmiya)

Back in December, my cousin’s wife served me a can of tasty Lychee Drink when I was over at my uncle’s home. It was sooo good that I’ve been searching for the exact same stuff ever since.

All I can remember was there was an illustration of Lychee and a Melon and possibly a Pear on the front, and the can itself was pale pink with white polka-dots and was either made in Malaysia or Thailand based on the writing (I dunno’).

During early December, I hit up both the Souq Sharq branch and Salmiya branch of Sultan Center and the Salmiya branch of City Center (ergo Collective Snackage Haulage) and bought a ton of other groceries as well, but couldn’t fit everything into one photo, so I didn’t even bother attempting it.

The drinks in the 1st photo were all from City Center Hypermarket (Salmiya). As you can see, it was very lychee-oriented lol

City Center Salmiya Hypermarket (June)

I was running low on my favorite Hand Soap (Nivea Lemongrass & Oil) and my favorite Makeup Remover (Clean & Clear Deep Action Make-Up Remover Milk) and Shampoo (“Deep Cleansing” Shampoo, any would do).

Since I was in Salmiya anyway (after this nonsense), I decided to hit up the City Center Hypermarket. For some inexplicable reason, I thought they’d have more interesting Hair Care stuff than my usual haunts. As it turns out, they don’t. They had the exact same products found in every branch of Sultan Center, every branch of Carrefour and every local co-operative (because… Kuwait).

I did however manage to grab a handful (ok, fine, more than a handful) of savory snacks Potato Chips! In my defense, they had several “new” flavors! More importantly, they were being sold individually, as opposed to pre-packaged threesomes (purchased previously, here), and they were available in all kinds of different sizes (everything from the mini 40g tub of Salt & Vinegar to the – according to Pringles – XXL 200g tube). Aside from the Pringle Salt & Vinegar, the rest were all duds :(

I also picked up a thing of Americana Mini Oregano Patee and Vimto Blue Raspberry (I’ve only ever found the other two flavors, at my local co-op, so this was new to me) and a bunch of personal care stuff; Nivea Soaps and Dove Deo and my beloved Clean & Clear Makeup Remover (reviewed here) and my equally beloved Cream Silk Conditioner (reviewed here). The total for this entire haulage was KD 13/210.
