Bath & Body Works Haul (Water Collection + Sea-Tox Collection)

The last time I actually purchased anything from Bath & Body Works was almost a year ago (haulage here). I’d still pop in for quick peek, from time to time, but most of the releases were quite underwhelming (leaving me less than impressed).

So when I walked into the Mishref Co-op branch of Bath & Body Works that day and spotted both the Water Collection (in-depth deets here) and Sea-Tox Collection (in-depth deets here) I was delighted to find that everything (from the light and fresh scents that were absolutely perfect during hot and stifling weather, to the feature ingredients being Hyaluronic Acid and Seaweed, to the pretty and playful packaging, to the inclusion of fun products including Hair Mists and Facial Mists in addition to the Masks and Scrubs) was ridiculously appealing!

Even better was the fact that Bath & Body Works had an awesome promo (full size items for KD 2/750 and travel size items for KD 1/250) regardless of the sticker price, on both of the newer collections! Has someone at Bath & Body Works been reading my blog? I mean, I’m constantly complaining about new items not being included in any sales or decent promos, so this was quite a nice surprise! Obviously, I had to take advantage of the sweet deal and stock up!

Spotted at Bath & Body Works (Mermaid Approved Sea-Tox Collection)

Here’s an in-depth look at all the products in the Mermaid Approved Sea-Tox Collection! As I mentioned earlier (here), they had a promo going on and despite the sticker price, all full-size items were on sale for only KD 2/750 which was a total steal! I’ll try to go over them in the same order shown.

First of all, the idea of a Mermaid-themed Collection from Bath & Body Works (of all places) is everything! None of the products look nor smell nor feel too young (read: juvenile). Unlike the usual rainbow vomit take on mermaid-inspired collections (like Tarte Cosmetics for example) which honestly is a total eyesore, Bath & Body Works did a really good job on the packaging! Everything is appropriately either seaweed-green or seafoam-green or peachy-pink. I especially adore the Japanese Wave Print (which seems to resemble the Japanese Print called The Great Wave of Kanagawa)! Also, the mermaid on the packaging is so stinkin’ cute (like something out of an old-school JRPG)!

Even the travel-size versions of these products (all the way at the bottom) have cute (if a bit cliche) mermaid-related quips! I’ve actually picked up a purple top from New Look (I wanna’ say around 2-3 years ago) that says “Mermaid hair, don’t care” and my sister-in-law recently got me a baby blue top that says “Mermaid in Training” (as a gift from one of her trips abroad with my brother) which proves that I’m quite partial to mermaid-related paraphernalia to begin with.

The feature ingredient of the Sea-Tox Collection (sea-tox like detox, I see you, fam, I see you) is Seaweed and I am living for it! I’ve mentioned this before on my blog, but I’m obsessed with all things Seaweed, so a Mermaid Collection showcasing Seaweed as the feature ingredient is deliciously appropriate! Also, you can’t very well have a Mermaid Collection without including some Hair Care products (So. Much. Yes!) and the Sea-Tox Collection not only has one but two of those, one of them being a legit Sea Salt Hair Spray (I die)! Lastly, I love the fact that the directions include “Mermaid Tips” (which are effectively useless lol but such a cute touch, just the same)! Honestly, the entire Sea-Tox Collection was stupid cute!

The scent on all the products in the Sea-Tox Collection was a pleasant, zesty, unisex (leaning more towards masculine) scent (which was extremely light and subtle, by the way), that had underlying citrusy-green notes (I almost wanna’ say lemon leaf), kinda’ like a Mojito (non-alcoholic, of course)! I’m pretty sure that I’ve smelled this particular scent before (possibly from the For Men range), but I just can’t quite place it at the moment. In any case, it’s perfect for Summers in Kuwait! Even though Bath & Body Works love making stuff up for their descriptions, I’ll leave you with their official description.

A mermaid-approved blend of soft sea breeze, salty ocean waves & crisp aquatic florals

Spotted at Bath and Body Works (Mishref Co-Op)

After all the unpleasantness at the Perfume & Makeup Section (here) I was headed towards the exit when I spotted the “new” Sea-Tox Collection (Mermaid Approved) over at Bath & Body Works! It was all Sea Minerals this and Seaweed that, basically detoxing ingredients. On the other side of the Sea-Tox Collection display, they had also had the equally “new” Water Collection on display! You can see them cleverly displayed on life rafts (so cute!) in the promo shot above. The main ingredient being Hyaluronic Acid which is excellent at hydrating your skin!

Both collections had been released world-wide about a couple months ago (I wanna’ say around May), hence the quotation marks around the word new. Meanwhile, we finally got them here in Kuwait at the end of August. They were literally stocking the shelves with the Sea-Tox Collection when I walked in. Personally, I’m just glad both collections even got to us at all. Aside from all the great ingredients, the packaging was pretty awesome too! It’s been awhile since any Bath & Body Works Collection had captured my heart interest so fully! If that wasn’t enough, for a limited amount of time, all full-size items from both “new” collections would retail for only KD 2/750 each (granted most of the collection retailed for around $17 in the U.S.) which was oh-so-very enticing!

I also spotted a few ridiculously cute items such as Expandable Pop-Up Washcloths in all kinds of fruit designs and Rose-Shaped Bath & Shower Sponges in Light Pink and Red (photos below), but I don’t believe those were part of either of the newer collection. Still… stupid cute!
