Sultan Center Groceries Haul (Jan 2021)

I was feeling physically weak on and off, all throughout January, but I was having a particularly bad day

So…

I decided to go grocery shopping, as one does.

To be honest, thanks to the lockdown, I had discovered that I quite enjoyed cooking! I actually found it therapeutic. More than that, I enjoyed the fact that the people I cared for enjoyed my cooking, saying I had a knack for it.

Since I needed to get ingredients for certain recipes that I was gonna’ try making later on, not to mention the fact that I’d been wanting to introduce healthier food to the kids (my nieces and nephew lived on chicken nuggs), I figured I might as well hit up Sultan Center.

The Souq Sharq branch was my favorite because I found it quite peaceful (barely any people, most of the time) and I knew where everything was placed by heart. Also, there was always plenty of parking space outside.

First, I hit up the top floor (where all the Cookware/Bakeware used to be), grabbed a few things and made my way back to the ground floor.

Bath and Body Works Haulage (Nov 2020) Part 1

They were having a sale and it had been a minute since my previous haul, so on Nov 12 2020, I placed another online order with our local Bath & Body Works store.

Aside from the fact that I wanted to pick up a few more things for myself, I was horrified to find that Mera (my friend at the time, but we have since parted ways) was using expired products.

“I don’t believe in expiration dates”, was a direct quote from her.

It’s not that she didn’t have the means. She just genuinely didn’t believe in expiry dates. Also, she was a bit stingy (okay, very stingy) with her money.

Worse still, her stuff (shower gels, lotions, makeup, hair stuff) had expired years ago and she was still completely fine with using them.

Not on my watch! No, sir!

I’d already given her Mon Guerlain EDP (dis) as a Birthday Gift earlier and a full sized Vanilla Bean Noel Body Lotion (dis) and Summer Tiramisu Foaming Hand Soap (dis) at some point.

In this haul, I picked up some Shower Gels for her (well, just the two) and demanded she get rid of her expired Shower Gels, immediately.

Shower Gels were reduced from 5/500 to KD 1/750
PocketBac Holders retail for KD 2/750

H&M Collective Haulage (July 2020) Long Post

July 10

I’d been ordering pretty consistently from Taw9eel (here) during the lockdown and while Taw9eel did meet my cooking needs, and most of my personal care and hair care needs, it just wasn’t cutting it for the other stuff.

Since I’d already ordered from Bath and Body Works (here) and Centrepoint (here) and even American Eagle (here) and they’d all arrived safely to me, I figured why not just go ahead and try my hand at ordering from H&M.

I hadn’t put on the Quarantine 15 yet, so everything I got was in a Size Small or Size 8 bar the Silver Oversized Mesh T-Shirt which I got in 3 sizes and loved so much that I kept all 3 lol

Ivy Babies

Ivy Babies – https://ivybabies.com/

My youngest niece’s birthday was coming up (mid July) and we were still under lockdown (2020) so I found this really cute online store that sold baby clothing and accessories and picked up a few things for her from there.

Chef LuLu (Part 8)

September 28

Mera made me promise not to have lunch, because she was bringing over “The best seafood you’ve ever tasted in your entire life!”

I however was already used to her exaggerations, so I knew to keep my expectations low.

After I’d ignored Mera’s phone calls one too many times, she’d called up another one of her friends and made plans to go walking in Shaheed Park. After the walk, her friend had taken Mera to Lobster Shack for the first time.

Since Mera had enjoyed the food so much, she had to have it everyday, until she got sick of it (her MO). That’s why she was bringing it over to my place that day, and would go there by herself to have lunch there, every single day (unless we had plans), up until she could no longer stand it.

Mera called me up over the phone and asked me if I prefer Mixed Seafood (Mussels + Crab + Shrimp) or just all Shrimp? I told her I was fine with whatever, but after much prodding from her, said that I prefered Mixed Seafood (I eat everything).

To which she responded, she doesn’t eat Mussels or Crabs and prefers Shrimp. So, I told her she could get whatever, again. I didn’t see the issue…

She came over with a Tub of Mixed Seafood from Lobster Shack… in the size Small (shown in the video) meant to be shared between the both of us.

My Home (Post #1,000)

The post that no one asked for lol

For my 1,000th post, I figured I’d take pics of my home (granted most of the photos are of doors but think of this as a general over-view and I’ll go even more in-depth in a future post… maybe).

There are 3 entrances to our home (potential thieves, take note).

– The first is the main entrance (shown in the photo) which is facing the main road.
– The second is the side entrance that’s by the car parking area and leads straight to the elevator.
– The third is by the kitchen and includes a long outdoor walkway that leads to the male staff’s living quarters on one side and the back entrance on the other side.

Only the main entrance area and the side entrance area each have their own skylight (partially shown in the above photo).

Typically, I’d use the natural daylight shining through from the skylight in the main entrance area to take photos of stuff for my blog (it’s where the “magic” happens).

The door to the right leads to my apartment (living room + guest bathroom + long hall leading to my bedroom + walk-in closet + master bathroom and finally my bedroom.

The door to the left leads to my parents’ apartment (living room + guest bathroom + shuttered terrace overlooking the garden + walk-in closet + master bathroom and finally their bedroom).

Quarantine Couture

Earrings: Call It Spring Gold Stud Earrings
Sunglasses: Purple Aviators
Top: Black Dreaming Sleeveless Tank Top (I wanna’ say from Miss Selfridge)
Bottom: H&M Dark Grey Joggers (purchased earlier here)
Shoes: Havaiana Brasil Flip Flops (reviewed earlier here)

Like I said earlier in my Slippers post (here), I love Loungewear!

Loungewear is just so comfortable (enough to lounge in ergo lounge-wear). Loungewear keeps me warm when it’s cold outside. Loungewear keeps me cool when it’s hot outside. Loungewear is easy. Loungewear is effortless. Loungewear is life.

Before the lockdown, I thought I had plenty of comfortable clothes.

As it turns out, I only had 2 Bralettes from American Eagle (one a gorgeous grey and another in a beautiful lavender, both of which I outgrew once I gained some weight during the lockdown) and a few T-Shirts from a variety of different places (all of which are threadbare now or have a ton of holes in them or both, also from being abused during the lockdown) and a handful of Joggers or Sweatpants from H&M (all hauled in my blog).

The rest of my stuff was all “going out” stuff and not exactly the most comfortable for lounging around in, especially not for hours on end.

I realized that I needed to buy more comfy T-shirts (preferably Over-Sized) and more T-shirt Bras (as opposed to Balconette Bras or Push-Up Bras or whatever) and definitely more Joggers, and just more Loungewear in general… once the lockdown lifted.

I mean this particular pair of Dark Grey Joggers were absolute life-savers during the lockdown (heck, for all of 2020 I’d say)! The following pictures will demonstrate that.

Techie Tuesday: Double Dare OMG! Princess Rabbit Pink Mini Beauty Fan

Double Dare OMG! Princess Rabbit Pink Mini Beauty Fan

The Autumn Perfumes Exhibition took place at Mishref Fair Grounds (Halls 5,6,7,8) during October 24 and was meant to end on November 6, but was extended to November 9 (because… weekend).

I’ve spotted the OMG! range from the brand Double Dare already at quite a few places around Kuwait, including the Mishref Co-Op (pics here) and I wanna’ say Debenhams and of course, the Perfume Exhibition (pics here, all the way at the bottom).

The Perfume Exhibition floor lay-out doesn’t seem to change all that much (the same brands always have their booths set up in the same spot) and as I was heading towards one of the exits to get to my car in the parking area, I passed by the Double Dare counter (located by the exit/entrance).

I finally caved and purchased the adorable OMG! Princess Rabbit Pink Mini Beauty Fan!

Pottery Barn Teen Haul

So this was my first and last time at Pottery Barn Teen, because I just blew KD 117 ($384.79)…

… on Blankets and Towels.

I had been doing so well at “budgeting” too, but now I’ve gone and messed that up.

Despite the fact that I’m a middle-aged woman (I turn 35 in December) and nowhere near… teen, I felt that it would be a good idea to take a quick peek inside Pottery Barn Teen.

Clearly, that was a bad idea, because apparently I’ve got zero willpower and just can’t resist anything that I deem to be cute and man-oh-man was this stuff cuuute!

The Supernova Printed Duvet Cover and Sham brings out of this world style to your bed! A dreamy, photoreal print combined with a soft pure cotton percale fabrication makes this a must-have for your sleep space.
