The post that no one asked for lol
For my 1,000th post, I figured I’d take pics of my home (granted most of the photos are of doors but think of this as a general over-view and I’ll go even more in-depth in a future post… maybe).
There are 3 entrances to our home (potential thieves, take note).
– The first is the main entrance (shown in the photo) which is facing the main road.
– The second is the side entrance that’s by the car parking area and leads straight to the elevator.
– The third is by the kitchen and includes a long outdoor walkway that leads to the male staff’s living quarters on one side and the back entrance on the other side.
Only the main entrance area and the side entrance area each have their own skylight (partially shown in the above photo).
Typically, I’d use the natural daylight shining through from the skylight in the main entrance area to take photos of stuff for my blog (it’s where the “magic” happens).
The door to the right leads to my apartment (living room + guest bathroom + long hall leading to my bedroom + walk-in closet + master bathroom and finally my bedroom.
The door to the left leads to my parents’ apartment (living room + guest bathroom + shuttered terrace overlooking the garden + walk-in closet + master bathroom and finally their bedroom).

Like I said earlier in my Slippers post (here), I love Loungewear!
Loungewear is just so comfortable (enough to lounge in ergo lounge-wear). Loungewear keeps me warm when it’s cold outside. Loungewear keeps me cool when it’s hot outside. Loungewear is easy. Loungewear is effortless. Loungewear is life.
Before the lockdown, I thought I had plenty of comfortable clothes.
As it turns out, I only had 2 Bralettes from American Eagle (one a gorgeous grey and another in a beautiful lavender, both of which I outgrew once I gained some weight during the lockdown) and a few T-Shirts from a variety of different places (all of which are threadbare now or have a ton of holes in them or both, also from being abused during the lockdown) and a handful of Joggers or Sweatpants from H&M (all hauled in my blog).
The rest of my stuff was all “going out” stuff and not exactly the most comfortable for lounging around in, especially not for hours on end.
I realized that I needed to buy more comfy T-shirts (preferably Over-Sized) and more T-shirt Bras (as opposed to Balconette Bras or Push-Up Bras or whatever) and definitely more Joggers, and just more Loungewear in general… once the lockdown lifted.
I mean this particular pair of Dark Grey Joggers were absolute life-savers during the lockdown (heck, for all of 2020 I’d say)! The following pictures will demonstrate that.
Double Dare OMG! Princess Rabbit Pink Mini Beauty Fan
The Autumn Perfumes Exhibition took place at Mishref Fair Grounds (Halls 5,6,7,8) during October 24 and was meant to end on November 6, but was extended to November 9 (because… weekend).
I’ve spotted the OMG! range from the brand Double Dare already at quite a few places around Kuwait, including the Mishref Co-Op (pics here) and I wanna’ say Debenhams and of course, the Perfume Exhibition (pics here, all the way at the bottom).
The Perfume Exhibition floor lay-out doesn’t seem to change all that much (the same brands always have their booths set up in the same spot) and as I was heading towards one of the exits to get to my car in the parking area, I passed by the Double Dare counter (located by the exit/entrance).
I finally caved and purchased the adorable OMG! Princess Rabbit Pink Mini Beauty Fan!
So this was my first and last time at Pottery Barn Teen, because I just blew KD 117 ($384.79)…
… on Blankets and Towels.
I had been doing so well at “budgeting” too, but now I’ve gone and messed that up.
Despite the fact that I’m a middle-aged woman (I turn 35 in December) and nowhere near… teen, I felt that it would be a good idea to take a quick peek inside Pottery Barn Teen.
Clearly, that was a bad idea, because apparently I’ve got zero willpower and just can’t resist anything that I deem to be cute and man-oh-man was this stuff cuuute!
The Supernova Printed Duvet Cover and Sham brings out of this world style to your bed! A dreamy, photoreal print combined with a soft pure cotton percale fabrication makes this a must-have for your sleep space.
Technically, it was a few days before Valentine’s Day, but the title sounded nicer this way! I was actually on the hunt for some Herbal Tea (as much as I enjoy them, my pseudo-coffee drinks, they weren’t much help in the sleep department) which was the main reason why I hit up several branches of Sultan Center (Promenade – Salmiya – Souq Sharq)… on the same day… back-to-back (totally sane behavior).
Are you ready for the ultimate? The Pro Gaming Chair is the top of the line for AKRacing Gaming Chairs. It is upholstered with breathable perforated PU leather, features a wider frame and a deeper seat for relaxed seating and additional leg support, as well as 70% more cold cured foam than the EX chair. A true premium chair with cutting-edge ergonomics and a full spectrum of high-end features dedicated to your well-being. Don’t settle for less, the AKRacing Pro delivers what others merely promise.
I got the AKRacing Pro Gaming Chair as a birthday gift! Apparently, these are the ones that YouTubers use. I know that these things are supposed to cost a pretty penny too, so I just never really set my sights on them. That’s why I was genuinely shocked when my older brother got me one as a birthday gift! So cool!
ELF (Eyes Lips Face) were having a 20% off $20 and 30% off $30 and 40% off $40 and 50% off $50 promo going on (the promo excluded the newest of new releases though), towards the end of November and start of December. I jumped on that deal and ordered a few things that based on my previous experience, probably wouldn’t survive shipping during the Summer (it can get up to 50 Celsius/131 Fahrenheit over here).
Despite being billed for them and also redeeming my “Beauty Points” (part of ELF’s loyalty program) several items were missing from my order. I didn’t bother contacting ELF though, because even if they did ship the missing items separately, the shipping itself would cost more than the actual items. It just wasn’t cost effective.
Regardless, I managed to get my hands on some things that I’ve been meaning to purchase for a good long while now, but was holding back because of the price. I got some Skincare and Foundation (in several shades), Brow Stuff (in several shades), a few Lip Things and even fewer Makeup Brushes and a ton of Blushes and Bronzers and Highlights all for half price! The total was $132 which is slightly more than I would’ve preferred to have spent, but I also feel like I saved more in the long run (logic)! I kinda’ went crazy (which is usually the case when ELF knocks their prices down to half off), but 50% off was just too good to pass up!
On Halloween, I found myself at Sultan Center (Souq Sharq) with a few friends, because we needed stuff… for stuff, y’know?
I figure what with the release of the movie, The Little Mermaid, there’s bound to be a resurgence in popularity of mermaid-inspired anything and everything (has it actually ever gone out of style?), including Mermaid Blankets. Here’s a few things you should know before purchasing a Mermaid Blanket for your child, or for your partner, or even for yourself.
