I wasn’t planning on purchasing more stuff from H&M so soon after my previous haul (here).
However, some of this stuff (bottom of this post) went on sale.
I’d been ordering pretty consistently from Taw9eel (here) during the lockdown and while Taw9eel did meet my cooking needs, and most of my personal care and hair care needs, it just wasn’t cutting it for the other stuff.
Since I’d already ordered from Bath and Body Works (here) and Centrepoint (here) and even American Eagle (here) and they’d all arrived safely to me, I figured why not just go ahead and try my hand at ordering from H&M.
I hadn’t put on the Quarantine 15 yet, so everything I got was in a Size Small or Size 8 bar the Silver Oversized Mesh T-Shirt which I got in 3 sizes and loved so much that I kept all 3 lol
As I said earlier in my 2020 Post (here), it had been months since I’d left the house. Much like the rest of the world who were under lockdown, I was going stir crazy!
Ordering groceries and personal care items and whatnot from taw9eel.com kept me occupied at first, but it just wasn’t cutting it after a while. I believe I was on Snapchat (which I used to “document” all the food I cooked because… quarantine) when I saw an ad for Centerpoint.
I was delighted to find any online clothing store that was open!
They had a proper website (as opposed to the pdfs and whatever from Victoria’s Secret) and they delivered (even if it was after a week or two after placing my order)! The website was easy to navigate with a few minor issues here and there (for example, the drop down bar).
The major issues I had though…
– There was a 15 item limit per order (which was annoying).
– The way my stuff was packed was a joke (clothes were not properly folded and boxes were open with their contents strewn all over the place).
– The clothes always arrived all dirty and dusty.
– Sometimes they delivered the wrong color or size or a completely different item all together.
– Some items arrived with the security tag still on them.
– Some items didn’t arrive at all.
There was a lot (and I mean a lot) of stuff that I’d planned on writing about, as soon as I finished my Bath & Body Works Hauls, from earlier on in the year (this).
Not to mention the fact that 2020 was a pretty horrible year all around (not just for me personally, but in general and worldwide). That in and of itself deserves a whole other separate post (maybe I’ll work on it, maybe not, we’ll see).
In any case, the following is all the stuff I had planned on talking about on my blog, but never got around to (because… 2020).
Edit: I’d started writing this post way before the tragic passing of His Highness Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, may he rest in peace. Like I said, this year has been awful.
I figured I should chill on the whole Perfume thing and focus on something more practical (i.e. clothes) instead. That said, I actually wasn’t even planning on buying any new clothes, but while exchanging the stuff at H&M (here) which happened to be right across from Zara, I noticed those covet-worthy Shirt Dresses in all kinds of different prints! I was instantly entranced by their siren call and before I knew it, I was walking right in to Zara, who as luck would have it, were apparently having a Sale! One thing led to another and here we are.
As you can see, I kinda’ went ham and overdid it with the whole Chain Print thing, but managed to snag a few Animal Print pieces while I was at it. I ended up purchasing 5 Dresses (x2 of the Snake Print) and 3 Trousers/Pants and 5 Shirts (x3 of the Blouse-y Shirt) and 2 Leggings and 2 Scarves and a Camisole (previously purchased here) and a Cap. Instead of paying KD 245/200 I ended up paying KD 106/200 because everything I’d purchased (other than the Scarves and Cami) was on Sale!
I was passing through the Men’s Section of H&M (top floor) at the Avenues, when I noticed a couple of fun Sweatshirts and decided to get them for one of my older brothers (we’re 8 years apart). I also picked up a Black Cap and White T-Shirt (more of a dress on me, really lol) for myself also from the Men’s Section. After this haul, I’m totally convinced that from now on, I should browse around the Men’s Section too, in all the stores, because a lot of their stuff looks so cool and super appealing to me! Since apparently I seem to have male readers as well on here, I figured I’d do a post on the guy clothes I got. Plus, it’s slightly different from my usual content (which is a nice change). The total for everything was KD 52/000.
I don’t like Forever 21 because I always get suckered into buying things I’d never actually wear. I can’t help it though. Everything they’ve got in the entire store looks so stinkin’ cute! That’s saying something because I’m not even a clothes person (you know what I mean). I just wear whatever (namely jeans) and be done with it. Even back before Forever 21 opened up in Kuwait, I’d always purchase a bunch of stuff from the Forever 21 in Dubai (because Dubai is way cooler than Kuwait and they already had a Forever 21 over there years before we did) and end up with buyer’s remorse as soon as our plane touched down in Kuwait. With that being said, I prefer not dealing with the whole underground parking situation at the Avenues (zero sense of direction) so I’d park right outside Forever 21. As such, I usually pass through Forever 21 to get to the rest of the mall, which means all those cute clothes dead-eyeing me as I pretty much gallop out of the store in my haste to avoid the cuteness! More often then not, I’m able to resist their siren song. This haul however is the result of my giving in (which I do, from time to time). I’m only human after all…
