Spotted at Sultan Center

I was stalking Zara at Souk Sharq for a particular item (the SA assured me it would be there by the 2nd day of Eid, as if I was supposed to just drop everything and go shopping lawl) and of course I made a quick stop at Sultan Center. Right off the bat, I spotted the Scratch & Win display. Basically, for every KD 4 purchase of Johnson’s products or Neutrogena products or Clean & Clear products, you qualified for a Scratch Card. The featured product seems to be the somewhat new Neutrogena Hydrogel Face Sheet Masks. I took a few photos of some random personal care items too, but I was haaangry so I didn’t take that many photos.

Spotted at Sephora (Summer)

I visited Sephora again (seriously, they need to move the store to a more accessible area of the Avenues already, like maybe switch out Sephora with Next so people can access Sephora both from inside and outside the mall for quick drive-bys. I mean their current location is so out of the way from everything else!) and also, because I still didn’t get my Brand Gift (for reaching 200 points) even though I’ve already received the e-mail from the Dubai branch of Sephora. While there, I spotted several new displays (as shown above), new products and new brands!!!!

For starters they had a Mini Mania display (sooo cute!) mostly of cult fave products available in mini-sizes separated into 4 categories (all of which we’ll be taking a much closer look at, below) ranging from Speedy SportSunny BeachTrendy WorkFunky Party.

Spotted at The Body Shop (Summer)

I was at the Avenues when I noticed they had a Sale going on over at The Body Shop. It was around closing time, but I still managed to take some photos and grab a few things. I tried my best to put names and prices to everything. If there are any mistakes, I apologize (let me know in the comments and I’ll fix it). The NEW ITEMS (not included in the Sale) are all the way at the bottom of this post. To my understanding, the Sale usually lasts for an entire month which according to my calculations is August 20. So if anything catches your fancy, you’ve still got a few days to go pick it up. Hope you enjoy this post!

Origins Haulage

I don’t want no mediocre
I don’t want no mediocre
I don’t want no mediocre, no

From high-end to drugstore, all the mascaras I’ve been trying seem to be complete misses for me lately. I’m tired of all these mediocre mascaras, so I figured it was high time I just go ahead and repurchase one of my faves, Origins GinZing Mascara (previously reviewed here). At $20.50 a pop (used to be $19.50), it’s not exactly inexpensive, but I’ve spent double (if not triple) that amount already on mediocre mascaras, so I’m more than willing to shell out 20 bucks on a tube (or 2) of my tried and true favorite!

Origins also came out with a whole bunch of Flower Fusion Sheet Masks ($7 a pop) each targeting specific skincare concern and I chose just one for now (Orange Radiance-Boosting Sheet Mask) to try out. It’s not shown because they shipped it separately (and I got charged by Aramex for a whole shipment that only contained a single sheet mask -_-). Anyways, as an added bonus, I got to pick out a handful of samples, including a mini version of Origins GinZing Mascara! I placed this order on December 29 2017 and it arrived shortly after (minus the Sheet Mask which arrived much, much later). The total for this order was $52.26 (about KD 16). Lastly, I signed up for the Origins Rewards Program and apparently for every $1 spent you get 10 points!

L’Occitane Samplage

My younger brother’s wife found out that she was pregnant and so for her birthday I decided to pick up a Gift Set from L’Occitane that consisted of a few of their bestsellers including the cult-fave Almond Oil. I’m already an aunt (thrice over) to my sister’s kids, but the eldest (whom I took shopping in the previous posts here and here and here and here) just turned 11, and my nephew is 9 and their younger sister is 7, so it’s been a minute since we’ve had a baby in the family. That’s why I’m super excited for the new arrival! I’ve never been pregnant (and don’t plan on getting pregnant, ever, because some people are just not meant to be parents), but most of my friends have popped out several babies at this point, and the one thing they all complain about is stretch marks. As such, I figured this particular Gift Set might possibly help in that department. The Almond Gift Set came with the Almond Shower Oil (250ml) – Almond Supple Skin Oil (100ml) – Almond Hand Cream (30ml) – Almond Milk Concentrate (200ml) all beautifully packaged. I must admit, I gave the testers a sniff in-store and they all smelled lovely! Hopefully, they’ll help keep those pesky stretch marks at bay! The Sales Assistant even tossed in a few samples (as per usual, L’Occitane were very generous with their samples!) that included a Foaming CleanserFace CreamSerumEye Balm, and I can’t to play around with them!

Sephora Haul

Swear to God, my experiences at Sephora keep getting weirder and weirder. I was dressed in jeans, a basic white tee and flats. I had no makeup on (not even lipbalm) and my hair was tossed in a messy bun (freshly washed hair tends to be more pouffy, so a bun keeps it in check). I happened to be carrying my Black Box Backpack on my er, back (strapped around both shoulders as opposed to just one, so as to keep it out of the way). Nothing about me made me look like a Makeup Artist or Sales Assistant… and yet some girl approached me out of nowhere and started asking me questions about a certain product (I got paranoid for half a second and thought that she had somehow pieced together the fact that I run LuLu ♥’s Makeup). I explained to her that I didn’t work at Sephora… and then proceeded to help her anyway lol

As for myself, I picked up a few random tidbits such as the a Travel-Sized Waterproof Too Faced Better Than Love Mascara (which made me die laughing because it’s actually called Better Than Sex world-wide, but I guess they had to “clean it up” for us uptight Arabs) and Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara (which is overtly sexual – going by the description alone – lol) and 2 Urban Decay Liners (1 being specially formulated for the Waterline which I thought was pretty cool!) and a Sephora Honey Lip Scrub. I was only browsing around but also managed to find something I’d been lusting after for so long (Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow in the shade Solstice)! Also, I was lucky enough to stumble upon the Limited Edition GlamGlow GravityMud Firming Treatment (Sonic Blue – Collectible Edition)!

Further disproving my “Samples Theory”, they gave me some Urban Decay Subversion Lash Primer Card Samples (because I purchased x3 items from Urban Decay) and several Clarins skincare samples (because… I don’t know). The total for all of the above was KD 48/000 which means Sephora Black Card, here I come!

Peter Thomas Roth Mini Mask Magic (Sephora Exclusive)

My sister and I were at Sephora when I spotted this adorable little trio (Cucumber and Rose and Pumpkin) and decided to get one for her and one for myself. I’ve always wanted to try out some of the Peter Thomas Roth stuff but figured that Aramex would never ship them to me (based on the ingredients, consistency, and so on). I remember lusting after the Rose Stem Cell Mask in particular, and dying with envy every single time someone on YouTube would showcase it in one of their videos. That’s why I was super excited when I found the Mini Mask Magic at our local Sephora! That said, these babies are tiny (0.05 fl oz/15ml tiny)! In a way, it’s kind of a good thing because I get to try out each one of the 3 masks without committing to the full size just yet. Honestly, I’m so thankful that our local Sephora is bringing in more and more travel-sized products, particularly ones that come in sets.
