– Kilian Black Phantom (Memento Mori) Body Lotion
– Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium Eau de Parfum Intense (arrived already opened)
– Maison Lancome Oud Bouquet Eau de Parfum (x2 travel-size)
While I busy at work not working, I noticed that Nordstrom were now selling my beloved Black Phantom (Memento Mori) (haulage here) as both a Body Lotion and a Shower Gel! Also new to Nordstrom was the latest take on the infamous Black Opium, which was Black Opium Intense. I was still debating whether I should purchase yet another Body Lotion and Perfume, when I happened to notice that the travel-size version of the ever elusive Oud Bouquet was back in stock! That settled that!
As soon as I got home, I hurriedly placed my order. As per usual, there were a ton of Gifts with Purchase and Samples that came along with the order, and everything arrived safely (not a thing was damaged)!
In March, Bath & Body Works released a new collection called In The Stars. It was a surprisingly delightful scent! They also came out with a bunch of newer Candles! Lastly, I noticed some more Sheet Masks (hard pass, fool me once and all) and Bath Bombs. For those confused by the signs around the store focusing on Moms, Arabs celebrate Mother’s Day slightly earlier than the rest of the world.
In The Stars
Radiant, Warm, Captivating
Notes: Radiant Amber, Sandalwood Musk, Sweet & Spicy Agarwood
Just by looking at the notes, you can sorta’ tell that In The Stars is going to be all sweet and musky and woodsy! Personally, I really, really like it!
I finally caved and decided to buy Kilian Black Phantom (Memento Mori) Eau de Parfum (purchased for a whopping KD 116) (mentioned here), rather than continuing to lust after it from afar (here). The fact that the sales assistant (stationed at the Lancome Fragrances) was such a sweetie was also a major factor! I mean… homeboy hooked it up!
He drowned me in Black Phantom (literally dousing me with the stuff!) and willingly filled up several of those little vials for me (with scents that I chose) and gave me several more fragrance samples that he thought I might enjoy and gave me a Dolce & Gabbana Duo Set (Perfumed Body Lotion + Lipstick) and gave me an Estee Lauder Cosmetics Bag (which was filled with a mish-mash of Travel-Size Estee Lauder products and an actual Travel-Size Armani Perfume that he’d stuffed in there for me)!
He did me right! Enough to where I felt obligated to purchase something from his station! So, I picked up another Perfume that I’d been lusting after, which was Lancome Tresor Midnight Rose Eau de Parfum (purchased at a more reasonable KD 43)!
The semi-annual sale was on, like I said in my previous post. I went back to the branch where I’d hauled my most recent Fragrance Mists from (haulage here), but sadly they’d already switched out the wide variety of collections for a handful of uninteresting ones. However, at the Souq Sharq branch, I found and purchased these bebehs!
I got the mass text from Bath & Body Works (as well as Victoria’s Secret and several others), announcing their semi-annual sale. Obviously, I made it a point to check some of them out (discreetly coercing my friends – who have absolutely zero interest in any of this stuff – to make a
quick stop here and there). As you can see, it was mostly the unisex and blatantly masculine scents that captured my interest (this time), mainly because I was pretty much all set, in the rest of the other “scent categories” (i.e. gourmands, citrus-y, fruity-florals, etc…).
For the sale this year, they’d brought out several of the “classic” scents which I thought was both boring and disappointing. I was expecting new and different stuff! Luckily, they were also trying to get rid of the older collections (that they’d released throughout the previous year) so, I snagged a few from those.
As per usual, everything looked pretty ratchet! Most of the stuff was already opened and had residue on the side and smelled pretty funky to boot (like it had already expired)! It took some time, but I hunted down the least janky versions available. I ended up getting 4 Fragrance Sprays (1 full size, 3 travel size) and 3 Soaps (1 Liquid Hand Soap, 2 Body Bars) and 3 Shower Gels and a Cosmic Cream
in a pear tree~!
I was looking for a gift for a friend who’d just found out she was preggers and usually L’Occitane has what I’m looking for, but this time, the products I had in mind were only available in a travel-size set (and were consequentially much cheaper), so I ended up getting her something else, from somewhere else. However, I did end up hauling some more of that divine Verbena goodness for myself to use during the upcoming Summer!
Longtime readers of my blog, already know that I stan the L’Occitane Verbena range hard! And to think… it all started when I raided the bathroom amenities at a certain hotel abroad (reviewed here) lol Like I said, the scent was fresh, crisp, citrus-y, uplifting and most definitely unisex! As such, I’ve been a big, big fan of the line ever since! They had other Larger Gift Sets and Smaller Gift Sets and even Travel-Size Gift Sets and everything in-between, but the ones shown (pic, above) were the ones that appealed to me the most.
I was actually checking out the other branch of Bath & Body Works for anything new or interesting (which I didn’t find) when Victoria’s Secret came into my direct line of vision (it was literally across from B&BW).
So, I decided to pop in and check it out. It was kismet, because they were totally having a random store-wide sale! No mention of it on the Al-Shaya Privileges App or anywhere else (as per usual). Not quite sure why they don’t advertise these seemingly random store-wide sales because I for one would love to know beforehand (so I can
prep save up).
Fragrance Mists reduced from KD 7/500 to KD 3/500.
Fragrance Lotions were reduced from KD 7/000 to KD 3/500.
A bunch of other stuff had been reduced as well!
