How stinkin’ cuuuuuuute!
Excuse the boxes, ‘cuz I’m in the process of moving into the guest room, while I finally get furniture and curtains and other things normal humans have in their homes. Basically, the place is pretty much a mess. Dang reflective packaging…
Anyways, I popped by Sephora a few weeks ago, when they were frantically stashing everything away (to make room for “Black Friday”), just to take a quick peek and ended up falling for this lil cutie!
I finally caved and decided to buy Kilian Black Phantom (Memento Mori) Eau de Parfum (purchased for a whopping KD 116) (mentioned here), rather than continuing to lust after it from afar (here). The fact that the sales assistant (stationed at the Lancome Fragrances) was such a sweetie was also a major factor! I mean… homeboy hooked it up!
He drowned me in Black Phantom (literally dousing me with the stuff!) and willingly filled up several of those little vials for me (with scents that I chose) and gave me several more fragrance samples that he thought I might enjoy and gave me a Dolce & Gabbana Duo Set (Perfumed Body Lotion + Lipstick) and gave me an Estee Lauder Cosmetics Bag (which was filled with a mish-mash of Travel-Size Estee Lauder products and an actual Travel-Size Armani Perfume that he’d stuffed in there for me)!
He did me right! Enough to where I felt obligated to purchase something from his station! So, I picked up another Perfume that I’d been lusting after, which was Lancome Tresor Midnight Rose Eau de Parfum (purchased at a more reasonable KD 43)!
KILIAN created MY KIND OF LOVE, an entire new fragrance collection for young lovers: five scents inspired by moments of seduction without inhibitions, audacious declarations of love and the will to love freely.
I was pretty much stalking Sephora ever since I discovered Black Phantom (Memento Mori) by Kilian, which was how I stumbled on them setting up the display for the new Kilian Perfumes! They had cute packaging and absurdly long names, but were considerably less expensive than Kilian Perfumes from previous collections. Sadly, as you can see, not all 5 made it to our little Kuwait, but hey, 3 is better than none, amirite or amirite?
I also spotted the “gender neutral” Fragrance brand called Commo̲dity (pics below) and last but certainly not least, they’ve finally started selling Farsáli at our local Sephora!
I was at Sephora (here) shopping for a birthday present for someone who was extremely difficult to please. Normally, I’m awesome at anticipating what people would like, but with this dude, it was next to impossible. In the end, I went with Cologne (safest bet) and hoped for the best!
Also, much to my delight, they’d brought out even more stuff for “Beauty Friday” (discounted items) including the Cologne I ended up buying as a birthday gift (not shown because I already gave it to him)! I’m positive they hadn’t been on display the first time around (here)! I quickly snatched up several of the items I’d been lusting after (some on sale and some not on sale).
My skin was being weird which was annoying! Even if your makeup skillz were next-level (which mine clearly weren’t), having skin issues just ruins the over-all effect! I figured I should look into this whole chemical exfoliating thing, because clearly physical exfoliating just wasn’t cutting it.
That’s why I set out to Sephora to purchase 2 things, only. I wanted to get the Pixi Glow Tonic (possibly in the travel size, just to try) for my skin and the Brigeo Micro-Exfoliating Shampoo for mah hurr, but ended up getting everything else shown (mostly skincare) as well, including some “Beauty Friday” stuff (discounted items). I believe most of the stuff was included in my latest Spotted at Sephora post (here), but if not, I’ll link each one individually, just to make sure. Also, as a result of this KD 80/000 haulage, I ended up getting the 12pc Festive Gift Box (full deets, here), which was pretty suh-weet!
I really wish I’d gotten this post up sooner (like, December), but you know… life. In this post, I’ll be going over some New Items, Skincare, Hair Care, Perfume, cute stuff at the “Aisle of Doom“, the Brand Gift of the month, and most importantly, a few of the discounted items during “Beauty Friday” (Sephora’s version of Black Friday)! I’ll start by going over all the Sephora Holiday Sets.
Sephora had released a whole slew of Gift Sets for the Holidays! You could differentiate them by their lovely navy blue packaging (to mimic the night sky) with a golden moon and stars scattered all over them! Around every corner there was a different Holiday Display. At first, it was a bit overwhelming, but I quickly realized it was mostly the same stuff, except rearranged differently. I tried to take pictures of as many of them as I could. I believe I managed to get all of them (sorry in advance for the glare in some of the photos!)
This (shown above) was literally on the opposite side of the Too Faced Counter. All the other Holiday Displays scattered throughout Sephora featured several of the same products, which led me to believe that this was the main display.
I like how they went from asking me to flat-out stop taking pictures (here and here) to now offering to hold up the products for me while I take the picture LOL I spotted some of the New Collections (new to Kuwait, rather) and a new Hair Care Brand called Briogeo, some fun Asian Skincare and more than a few absolutely stunning Palettes! With that being said, now that I’m getting older, I find myself… dare I say it… kinda’ losing interest in makeup (I’m 33). Not a lot seems to wow me anymore. I’ve also noticed the same thing happening with my choice of fragrance (I’m starting to turn away from all things candy and find a lot of my once-beloved gourmands straight up annoying now). If I ever fall out of love with videogames though, I’d be completely devastated (might as well not live anymore, after that! lawl). Thankfully, that hasn’t happened… yet.
I received a text message on July 18 that said they were giving out a free gift to anyone who spent KD 24 on the Sephora Collection which was my main incentive for going back to Sephora. However, I also wanted to pick up my Brand Gift which was between either a Becca trio or GlamGlow trio (as shown on the left and also on display all the way at the bottom of this post, here) both of which were equally awesome! I’d actually qualified for the Brand Gift by accumulating the 200 points (exactly KD 0/800 per point) earlier, on June 5 (haulage here) but on June 6 (when I went back to exchange something, here) was told I had to wait for a certain e-mail. As you can tell from the photo (on the left), eventually I received the e-mail with the Gift Voucher on June 18 (only 2 days after I e-mailed them, which was very professional of Sephora UAE and so unlike Sephora Kuwait) which meant I should’ve been able to claim my Brand Gift. Unfortunately, that was not the case. On July 20, I went to Sephora again to pick up my Brand Gift and tried to discreetly take a few photos for my Spotted at Sephora post (here) and even purchased a few of the items, to qualify for the Sephora gift with purchase as mentioned in the text they sent out to everyone. However, at the cash register, I was told that both Brand Gifts were out of stock but they would contact me once they were back in stock… if I just gave them my name and phone number. The guy at the check-out counter proceeded to pull out a rather large book already full of pages and pages of names and numbers of other people on the “waiting list” for the Brand Gift . We’ve been through this before with MAC, guys. Doing it old-school just doesn’t work, at least not in Kuwait. C’mon now, y’all are Sephora. Surely you guys have a more efficient way of doing this LOL Like I said at the start of this post, I went back to Sephora on July 20, meaning they’ve had my name and number for a little over a month now and still haven’t contacted me. Heck, I’m not sure if they even added the points I accumulated from this haul. In any case, everything I purchased in this haul, was featured in my Spotted at Sephora (Summer) post (here).

According to my Sephora App, I only need 15 more points to reach 200 again, and qualify for the next “Brand Gift” (full deets here) or whatever it’s called. Also, I’d just received a text from Sephora that said, “Free Gift with every purchase for Eid“. Plus, the last time I’d been to Sephora was about 6 months ago (free Sephora Birthday Gift, here), so it has been a minute. I figured I might as well pop in to a Sephora, check out what’s new (photos here), grab a few things so I could reach 200 points and get some samples and a “Free Gift” out of it, in the process. All signs were pretty much pointing to… Sephora.
Swear to God, my experiences at Sephora keep getting weirder and weirder. I was dressed in jeans, a basic white tee and flats. I had no makeup on (not even lipbalm) and my hair was tossed in a messy bun (freshly washed hair tends to be more pouffy, so a bun keeps it in check). I happened to be carrying my Black Box Backpack on my er, back (strapped around both shoulders as opposed to just one, so as to keep it out of the way). Nothing about me made me look like a Makeup Artist or Sales Assistant… and yet some girl approached me out of nowhere and started asking me questions about a certain product (I got paranoid for half a second and thought that she had somehow pieced together the fact that I run LuLu ♥’s Makeup). I explained to her that I didn’t work at Sephora… and then proceeded to help her anyway lol
As for myself, I picked up a few random tidbits such as the a Travel-Sized Waterproof Too Faced Better Than Love Mascara (which made me die laughing because it’s actually called Better Than Sex world-wide, but I guess they had to “clean it up” for us uptight Arabs) and Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara (which is overtly sexual – going by the description alone – lol) and 2 Urban Decay Liners (1 being specially formulated for the Waterline which I thought was pretty cool!) and a Sephora Honey Lip Scrub. I was only browsing around but also managed to find something I’d been lusting after for so long (Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow in the shade Solstice)! Also, I was lucky enough to stumble upon the Limited Edition GlamGlow GravityMud Firming Treatment (Sonic Blue – Collectible Edition)!
Further disproving my “Samples Theory”, they gave me some Urban Decay Subversion Lash Primer Card Samples (because I purchased x3 items from Urban Decay) and several Clarins skincare samples (because… I don’t know). The total for all of the above was KD 48/000 which means Sephora Black Card, here I come!
