ColourPop Disney Designer Collection

ColourPop collabed with Disney to come up with the Disney Designer Collection. The collection featured 6 of the Disney Princesses decked out in “Designer” versions of their typical character outfits.

Tiana from The Princess and The Frog (Green Ruched Top and Yellow-Green Rockabilly Skirt, same colors she wears in the movie, except she has a Black Bolero with Marching Band detailing over-top. The ginormous green flower makes the outfit very “high fashion”. Chic!)

Ariel from The Little Mermaid (Purple Tie-Dye Asymmetrical Punk-y Dress complete with knee-high fishnet socks and fishnet gloves and iridescent fishtail detailing on the abdomen area and mismatched splotches of Aquamarine and Pink and White all over the skirt area, which seems to include some Black around the inner part of high-low hem, all possibly meant to mimic the iridescence of a Mermaid’s Tail. Trashy!)

Belle from Beauty and the Beast (Yellow Off-The-Shoulder Dress with ruffles, which is very off-the-times, with a longer pleated skirt draped and pin-tucked around the much shorter skirt with a single Yellow Rose on the abdomen area. The entire dress features a Red Rose print, which is deliciously apropros! Elegant!).

Jasmine from the movie Aladdin (Rainbow-Vomit Animal Print Aesthetic and Gold-on-Gold everything so…. spot on, for a stereotypical Arab. Also, the only one carrying a Designer Handbag lol The Sleeveless Fitted Jumpsuit with a Matching Skirt over top and Long Pink Waistcoat (Cardigan? Dress?) would be something I’d totally wear… only in a different color… minus the Animal Print, minus the Skirt, minus the gold-on-gold everything lol Also, I love her hair! Even though Ariel is generally my favorite (actually Mulan is my true fave, but she’s not featured), Jasmine looks very Tribal Warrior-esque and is by far the coolest out of all the “Designer” versions!)

Snow White from the movie of the same name (White Greco-Roman Dress… with a White Fur Stole. Boring. Also, her hair should’ve been in a bun, just sayin’).

Cinderella from the movie of the same name (Silver Ball Gown with Black Detailing complete with a matching Shawl and Black Gloves, all dripping in Jewelry. Her hair and the slant of her eyes, makes her look like a 1950’s Barbie. Blech.).

The Disney Designer Collection consisted of a 15-pan Pressed Powder Shadow Palette and 6 Super Shock Shadows and 2 Super Shock Highlighters and 6 Creme Lux Lipsticks and 3 Ultra Glossy Lips. The packaging is quite cute! As were the names and even some of the descriptions. The shades however, were an all together different story (with a not so happy ending).

No offense to ColourPop, but MAC totally did it better with their Venomous Villains Collection (haulage here)!

Spotted at Bath & Body Works (Water Collection)

Here’s an in-depth look at all the products in the Water Collection! As I mentioned earlier (here), they had a promo going on and despite the sticker price, all full-size items were on sale for only KD 2/750 which was a total steal! I’ll be going over the products below in more detail.

Everything about the Water Collection just appealed to me so much, from the name and theme, to the blue packaging, down to the star ingredient (Hyaluronic Acid)! In fact, it strongly reminded me of my beloved long-discontinued Lancome Aqua Fusion Collection and Limited Edition MAC Alluring Aquatic Collection and even the E.L.F. Hydrating Water Collection, basically any Water-Themed Collection. Worthy of note, this is the very first collection from Bath & Body Works to feature Hyaluronic Acid! The fact that the Water Collection was released during a time when I happened to be struggling with dry skin was quite lucky!

The scent on all the products in the Water Collection was fresh and just so lovely (kinda’ like the CocoaShea Cucumber Really Refreshing Foaming Scrub (haulage here), only much lighter! Even though Bath & Body Works love making stuff up for their descriptions, I’ll leave you with their official description.

A clean, lightly fragranced splash of crystal-clear H2O

MAC Snow Ball Collection Part 2 (Kits & Sets)

Equally as exciting as the Snow Ball (core) Collection (previewed here) is the Snow Ball Kits & Sets Collection! As you can tell from the promo shots, the metallic theme of the Snow Ball (core) Collection is still going strong in the Snow Ball (Kits & Sets) Collection as evident from the sequined bags with disco-ball charms dangling off of them (personally, I’m more partial to the glossy bags because they look so sleek and I find the furry charms to be absolutely adorable), everything being either in Silver, Gold, or Rose Gold. I’m an advocate for Holiday Kits & Sets (from any brand really) because A) great value for money and B) you get to try out and discover different products (that you normally wouldn’t purchase on their own) and finally C) limited edition products/packaging.

The MAC Snow Ball (Kits & Sets) Collection is huge! I’ll be going over everything in this post. Hopefully, you’ll find something that interests you, either for yourself, or as a gift for someone else. If anything catches your fancy, just google it for actual swatches (MAC Snow Ball Collection was released world-wide, in October, meaning everyone and their mother has already swatched the entire collection, at this point). Sorry for not having any proper swatches but MAC Snow Ball hasn’t been released in Kuwait yet (and probably won’t be, for a very long time lawl). Until then, I gotta’ make do with the promo shots and what passes for “swatches”. First, here’s a general over-view (I’ll go more in-depth afterwards) of all the Kits & Sets, and what they include. Enjoy!

MAC Snow Ball Collection Part 1

M∙A∙C Snow Ball. Find your rhythm. All eyes are on the cool kids, hanging out, swaying to the beat, showing off with a little festive flirtation. You’re the sleighbelle of the ball, dancing until morning, feeling alive, reveling in the new generation. The lights catch a crystal and glitter snowflake adornment, all the bling you’ll ever need – everyone goes starstruck. See you on the dance floor.

Yes, MAC, Yaaas!

The MAC Holiday 2017 Collection is a thing of dreams! From the crushed champagne metallic packaging to the snowflake-embossed design on the actual products themselves (kinda’ like the pretty lids on the Bath & Body Work mini candles, hauled here), the whole collection is absolutely stunning! Not only is the festive packaging the epitome of holiday-appropriate (reflects the Holiday Season oh-so-perfectly), not only is it heartbreakingly gorgeous (definitely a collector’s item), but it’s also very elegant and sophisticated (nowhere near the previous MAC Holiday Collections some of which were quite juvenile)! Whoever dreamed this up seriously deserves a raise (or a big fat bonus, at the very least)! The last MAC Collection that took my breath away like this was the Alluring Aquatic Collection (previewed here), (hauled here), (reviewed here). Even the name of this collection, Snow Ball, is deliciously appropriate! I cannot wait for MAC Snow Ball Collection to become available in Kuwait (it’s already out, world-wide) and I’m definitely going to be picking up a few choice pieces!

Lancome Miracle Cushion

A foundation revolution has arrived—liquid makeup in a cushion. A weightless formula creates a dewy, fresh glow. Anytime, anywhere.

Lancome Miracle Cushion, coming soon to Kuwait! I know that I stated in this post that I don’t really wear foundation that much but I also touched on the fact that I’m simply fascinated by Asian (specifically Japanese and Korean) culture including but not limited to their innovative beauty products, skincare regimens and such. We inherited the BB cream craze from Asia. Then CC creams, also from Asia, and now Miracle Cushions (you guessed it) also from the Asia. Lancome is the first European brand to introduce Miracle Cushion technology to the rest of the world! Continue reading

Lancome Grandiôse Mascara

lancome

Mark your calenders ladies! Lancome’s come out with a brilliant work of art under the guise of a mascara and it’s set to launch in August. I’m very excited and can’t wait for this to launch in Kuwait!

penelope

Penelope Cruz is going to be face of the ad campaign. The sultry latina actress and mother of two, has been Lancome’s spokesmodel for awhile now (Lancome’s Tresor Fragrance).

wand

A trick I do with some of my more bend-y mascaras (mascaras that have flexible wands) is to twist the wand a wee bit so it’s at a certain angle. It just applies mascara better that way (and I was planning on doing an entire post on it except I haven’t gotten to the bend-y type mascaras yet). Lancome’s new mascara comes with the wand already curved to that certain angle, and they’ve trademarked it as “swan-neck” which sounds absolutely charming and brings to mind images of grace, elegance, and beauty! I’ve mentioned before that I’m a fan of bigger brushes on my mascara but the smaller brush on this mascara looks intriguing as even the bristles on this mascara are high-tech; They come in two different sizes, and were designed to apply mascara to the lashes more efficiently (coating each and every lash while doing amazing things to each and every lash!).

The gradient effect (ombre) of the packaging is not only sleek but breathtakingly beautiful! The transparent cap has Lancome’s signature rose embedded in it. The black tube is curved at the lower half to fit the curved wand housed inside. This innovative mascara is aptly named Grandiose! How deliciously apropros!
