Spotted at Sephora (January)

KILIAN created MY KIND OF LOVE, an entire new fragrance collection for young lovers: five scents inspired by moments of seduction without inhibitions, audacious declarations of love and the will to love freely.

I was pretty much stalking Sephora ever since I discovered Black Phantom (Memento Mori) by Kilian, which was how I stumbled on them setting up the display for the new Kilian Perfumes! They had cute packaging and absurdly long names, but were considerably less expensive than Kilian Perfumes from previous collections. Sadly, as you can see, not all 5 made it to our little Kuwait, but hey, 3 is better than none, amirite or amirite?

I also spotted the “gender neutral” Fragrance brand called Commo̲dity (pics below) and last but certainly not least, they’ve finally started selling Farsáli at our local Sephora!

St. Tropez Haulage

No joke, I’ve been on the hunt for the St. Tropez Purity Bronzing Water Mousse for months now! I first spotted it at the Avenues and even took a few photos of it (here) for my blog, but didn’t actually purchase it then and there. I went back shortly after to pick it up, but it was gone, girl, gone! I’ve searched every single branch of Boots for that stuff, ever since!

Finally, several months later, I found a whole display of St. Tropez Self-Tanning stuff at the Marina Mall branch of Boots! It looked pretty new! What’s more, is that they had that same “Buy 2, Get 2 Free” promo going on! Rather than risk not finding this stuff again (lesson learned), I hurriedly snatched up x2 of the Purity Bronzing Water! Since I qualified for x2 more bottles of St. Tropez stuff for free, I snatched up the pretty one with oil-slick packaging which was in Extra Dark and the regular one in Dark. Considering these babies retail for around KD 20 a pop (give or take), I thought it was fair that I only ended up paying KD 45 in total!

Nordstrom December Haulage

I was really happy with my previous haulage from Nordstrom (here) so when I noticed that they were having another really cool promo, I decided to place another order. Plus, it was mah birthday (not that I needed an excuse to shop, since we’ve already established that I’m clearly a shopaholic). Basically, the promo was if you spent $135 (around KD 40) on Fragrances (including Eau de Toilettes and Eau de Perfumes and even Scented Candles), you qualified for the Gift With Purchase, which happened to be a pack of Fragrance Samples (haulage here)! As you can see, the items arrived individually wrapped in packing paper, in a rather large (practically empty) cardboard box also stuffed with packing paper. It’s not pretty, but hey, it works (everything arrived safely and undamaged)!

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Gift Set ($155 Value) retails for $103 (KD 33/700)

-Trish McEvoy No. 9 Blackberry & Vanilla Musk Refillable Pen Spray (.2 oz./6mL) (Limited Edition) retails for $32 (KD 10/500)

– beautyblender Sweet Surprise Set (Limited Edition) ($28 Value) retails for $20 (KD 6/500)

Fragrance Samples Pack (gift with purchase) (haulage here)

AKRacing Pro Gaming Chair

Are you ready for the ultimate? The Pro Gaming Chair is the top of the line for AKRacing Gaming Chairs. It is upholstered with breathable perforated PU leather, features a wider frame and a deeper seat for relaxed seating and additional leg support, as well as 70% more cold cured foam than the EX chair. A true premium chair with cutting-edge ergonomics and a full spectrum of high-end features dedicated to your well-being. Don’t settle for less, the AKRacing Pro delivers what others merely promise.

I got the AKRacing Pro Gaming Chair as a birthday gift! Apparently, these are the ones that YouTubers use. I know that these things are supposed to cost a pretty penny too, so I just never really set my sights on them. That’s why I was genuinely shocked when my older brother got me one as a birthday gift! So cool!

Nordstrom Cyber Monday Haulage

Like I said in my previous post (here), I was sick of paying top dollar dinar and still having to deal with all the unpleasantness at the local stores. So, I turned to online shopping and one store that really stood out to me was Nordstrom. They had everything you could think of, including brands that have yet to reach Kuwait (give ’em a year… or ten lawl)! I purchased a ton of skincare and ended up getting a ton of deluxe samples as a “gift with purchase”, all for only KD 100 ($331.52 with tax)!

Everything was properly packaged (not one thing arrived damaged) and was shipped pretty much the next day! They also had great customer service with agents available on the 24-hour live chat pop-up to answer any of your questions! You could tell these guys were trained because they knew exactly what they were talking about and they got back to you instantly (unlike the 15 minute wait at Carriage for them to only tell you “I don’t know” lol so useless). Even on the off-chance that customer service reps at Nordstrom didn’t know something, they’d transfer you to the proper department in a matter of seconds! They were so professional! More importantly, they were all extremely polite and actually quite friendly!

Basically, from the products, to the price, to the attitude of the customer service reps, the whole experience was massively different to the experience of shopping at any given store in Kuwait! You don’t have to take my word for it either! Just compare this Nordstrom Haul to any given Sephora Haul and you can spot the different for yourself! Needless to say, I was extremely satisfied with the whole experience of shopping online from Nordstrom and will continue to do so in the future!

I got some stuff from Herbivore Botanicals and Sunday Riley, both of which are skincare brands that I have yet to see in Kuwait. You wouldn’t think it, but to me, Buxom Lip Creams are one of the most elusive beauty products I’ve ever tried to acquire. It was next to impossible to get my hands on this stuff… and I’ve seriously been trying… for years! +10 years later, I’ve finally gotten my hands on the shade White Russian! I can die happy now! I also got a small size of the infamous ExfoliKate which I’ve wanted to try for years now, but could never find. I picked up the COSRX Low pH BHA Overnight Mask because it seemed like a great starting point to ease my skin into this whole chemical exfoliating business. Also, COSRX is a Korean brand. Arguably the best thing out of this entire haul, was the discovery of my beloved Lancome Oscillation Mascara (full review here), which I was told was discontinued, but apparently is still being sold world-wide, just not in Kuwait.

St. Tropez Self Tan Express Advanced Bronzing Mousse

St. Tropez Self Tan Express Advanced Bronzing Mousse retails for KD 24

I have a deep, deeeeeep love for St. Tropez! Out of the many, many, many self-tanning products available on the market, St. Tropez makes the best! Unlike others that would give me a barely perceptive soft “golden glow” or worse a straight up orange tint, St. Tropez turns my skin into the most delicious shade of mocha! Other than looking incredibly flattering, as an added bonus, it never has that horrible smell that most self-tanners tend to have! In fact, I’ve even reviewed their Tinted Self Tanning Lotion years ago (here). I also lamented the fact that St. Tropez was not sold in Kuwait and therefore had to be ordered online (which was a gamble because… Aramex). Thankfully, nowadays St. Tropez is readily available for purchase at Boots (which is where I actually got mine) and Sultan Center (to name a few)!

Sephora Summer Haul #2

I received a text message on July 18 that said they were giving out a free gift to anyone who spent KD 24 on the Sephora Collection which was my main incentive for going back to Sephora. However, I also wanted to pick up my Brand Gift which was between either a Becca trio or GlamGlow trio (as shown on the left and also on display all the way at the bottom of this post, here) both of which were equally awesome! I’d actually qualified for the Brand Gift by accumulating the 200 points (exactly KD 0/800 per point) earlier, on June 5 (haulage here) but on June 6 (when I went back to exchange something, here) was told I had to wait for a certain e-mail. As you can tell from the photo (on the left), eventually I received the e-mail with the Gift Voucher on June 18 (only 2 days after I e-mailed them, which was very professional of Sephora UAE and so unlike Sephora Kuwait) which meant I should’ve been able to claim my Brand Gift. Unfortunately, that was not the case. On July 20, I went to Sephora again to pick up my Brand Gift and tried to discreetly take a few photos for my Spotted at Sephora post (here) and even purchased a few of the items, to qualify for the Sephora gift with purchase as mentioned in the text they sent out to everyone. However, at the cash register, I was told that both Brand Gifts were out of stock but they would contact me once they were back in stock… if I just gave them my name and phone number. The guy at the check-out counter proceeded to pull out a rather large book already full of pages and pages of names and numbers of other people on the “waiting list” for the Brand Gift . We’ve been through this before with MAC, guys. Doing it old-school just doesn’t work, at least not in Kuwait. C’mon now, y’all are Sephora. Surely you guys have a more efficient way of doing this LOL Like I said at the start of this post, I went back to Sephora on July 20, meaning they’ve had my name and number for a little over a month now and still haven’t contacted me. Heck, I’m not sure if they even added the points I accumulated from this haul. In any case, everything I purchased in this haul, was featured in my Spotted at Sephora (Summer) post (here).
