My dad asked me to order yet another Alexa Echo for him, once the new one with an 8″ HD screen came out.
Since UK electronics are more compatible with our electric system in Kuwait (?) as opposed to the army of adapters you would need for US appliances, I had to place my order with Amazon UK, as opposed to regular ol’ Amazon.
Since I was going to be placing an online order with Amazon UK anyway, I figured I might as well pick up one of the Babyliss Rotating Hot Air Stylers that I’ve had my eye on for a while now.
So on February 6 2020, I placed an order with Amazon UK for my dad’s stuff (he wanted some other gadgets as well) and for my stuff too.
The Circle is an awesome, awesome, awesome British Reality TV Show! Basically, the premise is anyone can be anyone on social media! Players enter a building and live in that building, isolated from each other (on separate floors even) and can only communicate via social media. Someone gets voted out (the least popular person) and the last one left standing, wins the cash prize.
Initially, I thought it sounded boring and quite frankly, dumb because unlike my beloved show Big Brother, they weren’t going to be interacting with each other. I decided to give it a chance anyway, and man-oh-man was I wrong! I enjoyed it sooo much that I zipped through the entire season!
I was hooked the moment Freddie walked into the building! Watching a very, very gay man pretend to be straight on social media was hilarious! He’d text something nice to one of the girls and turn to the camera and say something catty about her! He’d text something to the guys, about going to go make a protein shake and turn to the camera and say he’s never ever had a protein shake in his life! Also, the way he talked about girls was hyper-sexual, to the point that nobody even suspected he was remotely gay. Honestly, he was my absolute favorite contestant in Season 1!
It delights me to no end when my worlds collide!
I’d like to preface this by saying that my all-time fave Reality TV Show was, still is and always will be Survivor, only the American Version because all the other versions don’t even come close!
With that being said, it’s no secret that I’m pretty much obsessed with “British Telly”. That obsession was at peak in 2016 (dis) and has continued on until today! One of my all time favorites was Big Brother, but only the U.K. Version because the American Version was just… unwatchable! Love Island was another one of my new-found favorites offerings from “British Telly” (dis), but again, only the U.K. Version because the American Version is nowhere near the same! Sadly, Big Brother was discontinued (dis) which pushed Love Island in the lead as my new favorite UK-based reality TV Show! That stuff is so addictive, it’s basically crack!
I accidentally spent KD 75 (almost $250) at Saveco! lol
KILIAN created MY KIND OF LOVE, an entire new fragrance collection for young lovers: five scents inspired by moments of seduction without inhibitions, audacious declarations of love and the will to love freely.
I was pretty much stalking Sephora ever since I discovered Black Phantom (Memento Mori) by Kilian, which was how I stumbled on them setting up the display for the new Kilian Perfumes! They had cute packaging and absurdly long names, but were considerably less expensive than Kilian Perfumes from previous collections. Sadly, as you can see, not all 5 made it to our little Kuwait, but hey, 3 is better than none, amirite or amirite?
I also spotted the “gender neutral” Fragrance brand called Commo̲dity (pics below) and last but certainly not least, they’ve finally started selling Farsáli at our local Sephora!
Just so their girls don’t feel left out what with all the World Cup madness, the cosmetics brand Benefit has converted the Prince of Wales pub in London’s Covent Garden into a pink World Cup Pub and named it Gabbi’s Head (after Benefit’s iconic glambassador). The all pink decor seems very estrogen-friendly. Note how I attempt to act all nonchalant but inside I”m dying of envy. I mean how adorbs is that pastel pink chaise longue!
Not only does the pop-up Pub have a big screen that will play all the matches, but it’s also got skincare stations, brow pads, and tanning booths! If that wasn’t enough, they’ll also be having special events taking place each night ranging from Kareoke Night to Comedy Night, 80’s Night to Poker Night, and even a Pimp My Pumps workshop. Check out the link here.
I think it’s a very cute concept! If any Brits are reading this, have a go, for us (we’re with you in spirit) ^_~
