Nothing lifts my spirits faster than creature comforts (stuff that smells nice or looks cool or both!). You’d take a look at these things and think, “not the most exciting of hauls, girl” and I’m totally with you. They look pretty blah but… BUT, keep reading and find out why you’re wrong! That Black (so cool!) Toothbrush is a Colgate® 360°® Charcoal Toothbrush (360! Wuuut! Charcoal! Wut!) and right next to it is a very possible Bath & Body Works Foaming Hand Soap dupe and next to that is the single-best-smelling-hand-soap of life (y’hear me? Life!) and finally an anti-perspirant (okay, fine, this last one might be boring for you guys, I’ll give ya’ that, but I can’t help getting excited over scented anti-perspirants and a possible favorite at that, granted I have yet to sniff the thing and all this is just pure speculation but a girl can
Hello Verbena, my old friend
I’ve come to talk with you again~
Brace yourselves, people. Are you ready for this? I’ve found “The One”! I know I say that about every other deodorant (which for some reason gets discontinued almost immediately after I say that) but I truly and genuinely have fallen in love with Suave Almond Verbena Anti-Perspirant!
First of all (let me just get this out of the way), we don’t do Suave in Kuwait (it’s not as readily available for purchase in stores over here). I remember watching in envy as girls hauled their Suave products (which mostly consisted of what sounded like fantastically scented Hair Care and the occasional equally great scented Body Wash) on YouTube, but as is customary in Kuwait, I resigned myself to never seeing anything from Suave in stores over here. So imagine my delight when I came across a whole slew of products from the extremely budget-friendly brand Suave at our very own local Sultan Center!
I promised that I’d be reviewing some Soap & Glory products a good while ago but ended up deciding to just lump everything together into one post, and so here we are.
I really don’t like this brand… I always get suckered into buying their products based on the adorable packaging (all pink and cutesy, with vintage glam pin-up models), funny product names, and tongue-in-cheek blurbs and excerpts, only to end up being disappointed by the performance of the actual product. To be fair, the products generally do what they’re supposed to do, just not in the way that I prefer. I also find most of their scents to be downright vile, particularly Original Pink fragrance which seems to be featured in most of their products. Although the Original Pink fragrance is loved by many, I find it too floral-y and perfume-y for my taste. Their prices aren’t exactly budget-friendly either, especially when you factor in the sub-par performance of most of their products.
I’ve mostly tried some Bath & Body Products, some Skincare Products, but aside from a single Lipgloss (purchased online via Drugstore.com) I haven’t really delved much into their Beauty Products. I’ve also got a handful of Minis (from the KD 1/000 “bargain bins” at Boots), and some products that came in a Holiday Set (that they come out with during every Holiday Season). So, I feel like I have a good selection of products here to form a valid opinion. You can purchase Soap & Glory products at Boots.
You guys know I’m always on the lookout for a new favorite deodorant because for some strange reason, the ones I love keep getting discontinued. I love browsing through the personal care aisles at different local co-operatives because you never know what you might find. Honestly, I feel like each co-op has its own hidden gems (stuff you can only find at a certain co-op). When I came across this Roll-On Deodorant in the scent Isla Vanilla from the French Brand Originel & Essential (also known as OE) for KD /780 at the Dahia Abdulla Al-Salem Co-Op, I decided to pick one up, hoping it would be my new fave.
Found this little duo at my local co-op. Score!
I’ve talked about these a looong time ago (hauled – here) and pretty much won’t shut up about them, ever since.
