Once again, ColourPop came out with a whole slew of new products (Pressed Powder Blushes, Pressed Powder Bronzers, Pressed Powder Highlighters, Crystal Liquid Highlighters, Crystal Setting Sprays, Crystal Priming Sprays, Crystal Lip Balms, Brow Products, Concealers, Makeup Brushes)!!!! What’s more, they even updated their website with more accurate photos (infinitely better than the previous ones, at least) of all their products! They also came out with some new shades in the Super Shock Shadows range. The Buy 2 Get 1 Free deal on all their Liquid Lipsticks was still ongoing, as was the Free Empty Eyeshadow Palette you got with every purchase of 4 Pressed Powder Shadows. I wasn’t planning on placing yet another order… up until ColourPop hit 5 million followers on Instagram and they decided to celebrate by coming out with 5 Limited Edition products that you got for free (well, technically as a gift with purchase)!
We are celebrating reaching 5 million on Instagram with limited edition items for a grab bag starting tomorrow at 10am PST!
Fab Five Lippie Stix, Nine to Five Ultra Glossy, Take Five Ultra Matte, High Five Super Shock Highlighter, Party of Five Super Shock Shadow
Spend $10 + Get 1
Spend $25 + Get 2
Spend $40 + Get 3
Spend $55 + Get 4
Spend $70 + Get all 5
My order was $100 exactly, so I qualified for all 5 but didn’t get the Fab Five Lippie Stix so I’m assuming that they ran out of stock by then (my order was placed on August 30th). Despite that, it’s a really cool deal and I appreciate the fact that ColourPop are constantly coming up with new shades, all-new products, interesting collaborations, and all kinds of promotions! Basically, I love that ColourPop are always trying to keep things exciting!
ColourPop came out with a bunch of new products (Pressed Powder Shadows and Ultra Blotted Lips). They also came out with several new collections and collaborations that included newer shades of their pre-existing products.
I really wanted to try out some of the newer items as well as some things that were new to just me (for example their Precision Brow Pencil). I mean, I’ve had my heart set on Baby Talk Super Shock Pressed Pigment (the red one) and Short and Sweet Mini Lip Kit since they were released on Valentine’s Day, whereas Animal Super Shock Pressed Pigment (the broken one) has been in and out of my online shopping cart from Day 1. For some reason, I couldn’t stop thinking about Luckfully Super Shock Shadow (the dark blue one) even though it’s clearly not the most easily wearable and I don’t do blue, in general. Also, I was worried I’d miss out on Mwah Ultra Matte Lip (the one with kisses all over the packaging) since it was a collab, and therefore probably limited edition (still not quite sure how ColourPop operates). Then there’s Bumble Ultra Matte Lip which everyone swears by and Tuesday Ultra Matte Lip (which has also been in and out of my online shopping cart more times than I can count) and was the only shade I was really interested in from the Moment of Weekness Liquid Lip Set. After playing around with the other ColourPop products that I’d purchased previously, I also wanted to pick up some neutrals (shadows, liquid lips, etc…) especially Firefly Pressed Powder Shadow (which I was so sure would look super complimentary).
Once the Short and Sweet Mini Lip Kit went on sale, I decided to go ahead and place my order, keeping it under $100. I mean I can afford to go crazy, but I always try to keep it at $100 or lower, for whatever reason, sorta’ like a personal challenge (my total this time was $99.40) Plus, it’s a good way to keep me in check, because it’s so easy to go overboard and not even be aware of it, since their price point is so low. It’s just something that I’ve been doing since my CherryCulture.com days and kept it going with Coastal Scents, BH Cosmetics, E.L.F. and all the other super inexpensive online stores.
Fasten your seat belts! It’s Super-Colour Sexy Mother Pucker! With SUPERFILL™ Lip Plumping Spheres – that swell up to TEN TIMES when you apply them – and LIPSWELL™ Volume Boost Technology, Sexy Mother Pucker adds serious plumping power to your pout. Wear on its own for a subtle (but sexy) shine, or layer over your favourite lipstick.
This is the first makeup-y item I’ve ever tried from Soap & Glory but I don’t think it’ll be the last. I believe I purchased it from Drugstore.com/Beauty.com (same shopping cart when you check-out). Their Mother Pucker Gloss come in several different shades and flavors. The main reason I got this particular shade called Half Naked was because it had a buttered popcorn flavor (as we’ve already established, I enjoy novelty products, and anything that tastes or smells like popcorn definitely fits the bill)!
I went to H&M (Salmiya Branch) again in December because they were having a Buy Two Get One Free deal on cosmetics. I’ve always enjoyed H&M cosmetics because they’ve got a vast array of products and everything is so inexpensive! I’ve purchased so many of their face masks, scented wet-wipes, eyeshadow palettes, colored eyeliners, black liquid liner (which is amazing!), nail polishes, and so much more from them, in the past. In fact, I always used to purchase at least one pink-y lip gloss every single time I visited H&M. However, I stopped purchasing makeup-y bits from them because everything always looks so ratchet (severely picked over) now. Plus, I feel like they bumped up the prices. With that being said, I downloaded the AlShaya Privileges Club Application on my phone (which is supposed to tell me whenever any of the AlShaya Stores such as H&M, Victoria’s Secret, etc… are having some sort of “offer” which normally aren’t even that enticing). That’s how I found out about the Buy Two Get One Free deal on select cosmetics (not all). I wasn’t really in the mood to try anything on in the changing room so I only purchased another one of those stripe-y pajama pants, aside from all the makeup-y bits. Now on to the haulage…
My first order ever from Colourpop was in November 2016. I accidentally titled that haul Black Friday when it should’ve been titled Cyber Monday. I felt like I was getting a good deal that I just couldn’t pass up which is why I placed my first order with Colourpop during Cyber Monday. I put in a second order with Colourpop before the first one had even arrived, in December 2016. Once again, they were having some kind of deal going on. If you purchased $100 worth of products, you got $25 off your next purchase (coupon code to be received via e-mail a week or so after your order ships). My third order (this one) was placed in January 2017 using the coupon code I’d received from my previous order. At this point, I’d played around with some of the Colourpop stuff I’d already purchased so I had a better feel for what would work for me.
I so rarely shop at Victoria’s Secret, for varied reasons. Clothes-wise, I don’t believe they’d have anything that would fit me. That said, I’ve never actually tried anything on in their dressing room. In fact, I’ve never even so much as glanced at their clothes or lingerie, my logic being that the Victoria’s Secret Angels are all incredibly fit, long-limbed, size-zeros, whereas I am neither slim nor tall. Makeup-wise, I’ve had several bad experiences with them in the past (as a teenager). One in particular, stands out to me; when I purchased a Lip Plumper, and instead of being a clear gloss that tingles, it was a thick (yet creamy), straight up white lipstick, with a matte finish, regardless of the fact that you applied it with a doe-foot applicator, straight from the long mascara-like tube. Apparently, you were supposed to apply it as a base (underneath a lipstick or lip gloss), and it was supposed to smooth out the surface of your lips, which in turn would make them appear bigger. Victoria’s Secret were very careful with their wording on the packaging. In fact, back in the day, a lot of makeup companies used to pull all kinds of shady stunts like that, before beauty bloggers and vloggers exploded on the scene. I’ve also purchased several hair-care products from them and was always disappointed. For instance, when I purchased a scented mousse, it was so sticky it made my hair stick together as well as stick to my scalp. I wanted volume in my hair but instead the mousse gave me a bad hair day (sticky, stringy, and flat). What’s worse was it was a floral-scent (no testers)! Scent-wise, they had such a huge selection of perfumes, body mists, and whatnot, that I was always overwhelmed, and never knew where to even begin.
