Spotted at Sephora (Summer)

I visited Sephora again (seriously, they need to move the store to a more accessible area of the Avenues already, like maybe switch out Sephora with Next so people can access Sephora both from inside and outside the mall for quick drive-bys. I mean their current location is so out of the way from everything else!) and also, because I still didn’t get my Brand Gift (for reaching 200 points) even though I’ve already received the e-mail from the Dubai branch of Sephora. While there, I spotted several new displays (as shown above), new products and new brands!!!!

For starters they had a Mini Mania display (sooo cute!) mostly of cult fave products available in mini-sizes separated into 4 categories (all of which we’ll be taking a much closer look at, below) ranging from Speedy SportSunny BeachTrendy WorkFunky Party.

ColourPop Holiday Sale Haulage

I can’t believe it’s already been a whole year since I first got into ColourPop!

My first order ever with ColourPop was placed on November 28, 2016 (haulage here) and this order was also placed on November 28, 2017… one year later. Truth be told, the reason why I placed both orders during that specific date was because of the sale (Cyber Monday) which meant slashed prices for products that were already inexpensive to begin with! Also, I kinda’ didn’t wanna miss out on some of the Limited Edition – Holiday 2017 products (you can differentiate them from the permanent products by the LE pastel-y Lilac, Blue, Pink ombre packaging). Plus, they even tossed in a free Ultra Glossy Lip for my order being late! I can’t say I don’t miss the cute print usually found on the inside of the shipment box itself, but I guess they skipped it this time, because of the influx of orders. Also I wish that they’d bubble-wrap the more delicate products so they don’t arrive shattered or smushed.

Other than that, everything has been just peachy and one year later, I’m still just as obsessed with ColourPop!

ColourPop Liquid Lips Sale Haulage

So ColourPop were having this deal on all the Liquid Lips (Buy Two get One Free) and I’d been eyeing up several of them for awhile so I decided to jump on it. They were also having another deal where if you bought 4 Pressed Powder Shadows, you got an empty Eyeshadow Palette for free. So I grabbed some Pressed Powder Shadows and a few Super Shock Shadows as well. I also got 2 palettes one called $aucey from the collab with Iluvsarahiii (which I actually suggested to ColourPop (because I seriously appreciate her makeup skills) and the other called She from the Karrueuche collab because it looked so pretty! I guess I inadvertently stocked up on Pressed Powder Shadows (palettes and singles) as well as Liquid Lips. Everything shown in this haul came up to a total $100 exactly. They even tossed in a free mini Ultra Satin Lip (in the shade Frick N’Frack) with an apology note, for my order being late! My previous order (hauled here) was placed on July 17 whereas this order was placed on July 20… meaning the first order hadn’t even arrived, before I got suckered into placing yet another order. In my defense, ColourPop is awesome!

What I Got From My Sister-In-Law

My older brother got married last year during Spring and took his wife to the United States for a year. When they got back, she surprised me with chocolate truffles, a baby pink faux fur vest, and a Sephora Tote Bag (as shown). In the Sephora Tote was a matching Sephora Gift Box and in the Sephora Gift Box there was…

Makeup Revolution

I was delighted when I came across Makeup Revolution and its sister brands I Heart Makeup (which are known for their Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette dupes among other things) and Freedom at the Perfume & Makeup Exhibition at Mishref Fair Grounds (October-November). I’ve heard of those brands before but I wasn’t aware that they’ve already made it to the shores of Kuwait. There wasn’t a huge selection but everything looked quite cute! I picked up an Eyeshadow Palette (one of the Too Faced Chocolate Bar dupes), a Contouring Palette, two single Highlighters, a metallic Eyeshadow single and a Contour Brush. They even threw in a free Lipstick as a gift with purchase (gwp). I mean everything was super cute and super budget-friendly!

I love these cutesy collections that MAC come out with every spring. Shop MAC, Cook MAC comes in especially adorable packaging!

Out of the 3 Nail Lacquers, I only chose 1 called Salad Dressed (mid-tone dirty aqua, creme finish). As you can see, it came with a removable sleeve, all decked out in pink and yellow, going along with the theme of the rest of this cute collection. This is yet another shade that fits in with the For Audrey family. What can I say? I like what I like. I’ve swatched Salad Dressed next to Mischievous Mint. Salad Dressed looks darker and greener.

I got my first ever MAC Eyeshadow Quad in Call Me Bubbles which consisted of 4 shades; Call Me Bubbles (light tan, satin finish), Fresh Daily (orange, frost finish), Brash (frosty reddish copper, veluxe pearl finish), and Full of Flavor (coral, matte finish). Technically, I own several other quads but since I put those together, they don’t really count. It also came with a removable sleeve. This quad has a wonderful combination of colors that remind me of a setting sun. Brash is so pigmented that it’s straight up metallic. Full of Flavor looks lovely albeit unconventional as a crease color, especially when paired with Fresh Daily. This is a soft colorful take on the glow-y, soft eye look that is so flattering on everyone. You can mix and match the shades in this quad to come up with your own customized eyeshadow shade(s). Call me Bubbles works as a brow bone/inner corner highlight. I adore this quad!

I only got 1 lipstick from this collection called Watch Me Simmer (bright pink-orange, amplified finish). The sleeve is removable as well. Watch Me Simmer is a beautiful coral that’s perfect for summer and looks especially great with a tan! It’s everything I wanted Viva Glam Nicki to be, only better!

Even though I wanted all 4 that came out in this collection, I decided to be realistic and just get 2. Purring is described as a sheer tangerine with pearl (erm… actually this has a lovely cream finish, no shimmer, no pearl) and Hush, Hush is described as a sheer gold with yellow pearl. The sleeve is not removable on the packaging. Out of everything in Shop MAC, Cook MAC, I was most excited about tendertones. I’ve been wanting to get my hands on a tendertone since forever but you know how MAC rolls; They create a fantastic product, wait for you to fall in love with it, then promptly discontinue it sending you (or just me) into a panicked frenzy. Long story short, I was really happy that these were re-promoted. Basically, these are just potted lip balms. They deposit very little color if any on the lips. Tendertones are very, very sheer which is why I didn’t bother swatching them. I love the delicious watermelon scent on these things, which is a nice change from the usual vanilla. They are also quite hydrating.

Lastly, I got Wholesome fluidline which is described as a blackened brown. This is perfect for those times when I’m so pale that black can look quite stark on my skin. It’s a nice alternative to black.

MAC Tartan Tale: Chapter Two

Tartan Tale: Chapter Two included sets and kits that came in incredibly cool tin packaging with tartan stripes and even a gold crest that reads MAC, to go with the whole Scottish theme. I thought these looked fantastic and just had to pick up a few. Once you empty out the tins, you can use them for storage!
