Eyes Lips Face (ELF) Haulage

So unbeknownst to me, the ban had been lifted, and apparently I could order from http://elfcosmetics.com/ again!

Back in the day, I used to order from ELF (Eyes Lips Face) pretty regularly. To the extent that I actually remember when they only had the Essentials line (everything from Makeup to Makeup Brushes and Tools, even an Eyelash Curler was only $1 and came in flimsy white packaging). Then, they branched out into the Studio line (slightly pricier trendy makeup with sleek black packaging). Then I believe they came out with a mineral range (around the $5 mark and above, with sturdy beige packaging) called Beautifully Bare. Looking at the photo (above) of the haulage, based on the packaging, you can sorta’ tell that a few items are from the Essentials line and a few are from the Beautifully Bare line, while the rest are mostly from the Studio line (black packaging). With that being said, it seems that ELF no longer categorizes them as such, because everything was merged together on their website. If not for the packaging and the price point, I wouldn’t be able to tell which was which.

My first ELF purchase was actually from drugstore.com (around 2007 or so) and it was a bunch of their lip balms in little square tins, lipgloss in littly click-y pens, small circular blush and bronzers, tiny eyeshadow quads, white makeup brushes and even a body lotion, to name a few. Once I figured out I could order directly from the the ELF website, I went ham and ordered every new product they came out with (and they came out with new product pretty regularly!) to the extent that I’m still working my way through all my ELF stuff!

More often than not, some of the products would arrive damaged or literally break apart in my hands, but because of their low price point, I just brushed it off. Also, because twice a year, ELF would have a 50% discount on all their products! If I’d been eyeing up anything from the Studio Line or expensive Beautifully Bare line, I’d wait for the 50% discount because that would be the time when I’d purchase them (way more affordable). Heck, even the $1 line would only cost $0.50 per product! That said, it seems that ELF have increased the price point of their Essentials range by a dollar, which means everything in the Essentials range goes for $2 now. So, it’s safe to assume that they increased the prices for all the other lines as well. Regardless, their products are still extremely budget-friendly! In fact, the total for my entire order was only $109.96 (technically $140 with a $39 discount plus $8.96 for tax).

For whatever reason, I couldn’t order from the ELF website anymore, so I stopped. I’d still try my luck every few months or so, on the off-chance that my order would go through. I was dying to try out some of their newer stuff! I really wanted to get my hands on those stunning Makeup Brushes from the Beautifully Precise line, in particular. Thankfully, after about 2-4 years, my order finally went through!

ColourPop Final 2017 Haul

Since the Sale was still ongoing over at ColourPop (slashed prices on most of their items) about a month after my last ColourPop order (here), I decided to pick up even more Super Shock Shadows (x9) and Creme Gel Liners (x6) and Lippie Stix (x6). I also picked up another of those Crystal Liquid Highlighters and a backup of my Brow Boss Pencil (previously hauled here). I really wanted to try out their Super Shock Blush so I just got 1 (for now). Lastly, if you spent X amount of money, you got a Golden State of Mind Pressed Powder Shadow Palette (Sephora Exclusive) for free! I placed my order on December 27 and it shipped 2 days later! Believe it or not, my entire order was only $101.60 (about KD 30/700) which is a total steal!

ColourPop Holiday Sale Haulage

I can’t believe it’s already been a whole year since I first got into ColourPop!

My first order ever with ColourPop was placed on November 28, 2016 (haulage here) and this order was also placed on November 28, 2017… one year later. Truth be told, the reason why I placed both orders during that specific date was because of the sale (Cyber Monday) which meant slashed prices for products that were already inexpensive to begin with! Also, I kinda’ didn’t wanna miss out on some of the Limited Edition – Holiday 2017 products (you can differentiate them from the permanent products by the LE pastel-y Lilac, Blue, Pink ombre packaging). Plus, they even tossed in a free Ultra Glossy Lip for my order being late! I can’t say I don’t miss the cute print usually found on the inside of the shipment box itself, but I guess they skipped it this time, because of the influx of orders. Also I wish that they’d bubble-wrap the more delicate products so they don’t arrive shattered or smushed.

Other than that, everything has been just peachy and one year later, I’m still just as obsessed with ColourPop!

ColourPop Halloween Haul

So ColourPop came out out with a bunch of new stuff, including newer additions to their; Makeup Brush line (smaller brushes for more detailed work), Pressed Powder Shadows (new shades + compacts) and collaboration with iluvsarahii (Arriba! Ulta Matte Lip). They even restocked DGAF Super Shock Shadow which I’ve just been dying to try (everyone won’t stop raving about it)! I wanted to get the Brow Boss Pencils the first time around (when they were actually new), except I accidentally ordered the Precision Brow Pencils instead (haulage here). I figured since I was going to be placing an order with ColourPop anyway, now was my chance to rectify the situation and order the Brow Boss Pencils that I’d originally wanted.

Best of all, ColourPop came out with a My Little Pony Collection, arguably the most adorable collection of life (packaging-wise)! I was literally counting the days up until its release and even went home extra early from a dinner with my favorite cousin (time just flies when we’re together and hours feel like seconds) just to make sure I got home in time to place my order before everything was out of stock. Unfortunately, there was a mix-up with my credit card (darn autofill) and by the time that got sorted out, everything I’d wanted from the My Little Pony Collection was already out of stock. As soon as they restocked the My Little Pony Collection, I placed my order immediately (October 28) so I wouldn’t miss out again and here we are. The total for this order was $101.00

It Cosmetics Haulage

I’m not as vocal about it on my blog (even though I kinda’ mentioned it before, here) but I’m actually very obsessed with Brow Products (and equally as obsessed with Mascara and Blush and Bronzers and Highlighters and Eyeshadows and more recently Lip Balm… so pretty much all Makeup lawl) One of my first Brow Products was the Benefit Brow Zings (purchased from VaVaVoom at Marina Mall) which I got in the darkest shade available and only applied once, but was sufficiently mortified with the result, enough to gift it to someone else, first chance I got!

That incident scarred me enough to not bother with Brow Products again for years and years, up until I purchased an Anastasia Brow Kit (from Beauty.com around 2008) which came with Tweezers, Eyebrow Scissors, the infamous Brow Gel, as well as some other products including Eyebrow Stencils (OMG, remember those? They were a “thing” back then. Bwahahaha), all housed in a small pink pouch. Then, I tried the It Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Pencil, but was too young to actually know what I was doing. After that, I tried the Maybelline Define-a-Brow (reviewed here) and promptly fell in love! Unfortunately, it has since been discontinued. My love affair with Brow Products however is still on-going!

As such, I decided to purchase a few Brow Products, among other things, directly from the It Cosmetics website. I also got 3 additional Travel Size Products that came in a little drawstring pouch, as a free gift with purchase (spend X amount to qualify for the Free Travel Set) in addition to 3 one-time-use Samples. My order was $94.50 (US Dollars) in total.

I was at The Avenues with my younger brother’s wife when we (and by we, I mean me) decided to stop by a Sephora (I say a, as if we have more than one Sephora in Kuwait lawl). I was dumbfounded by my sister-in-law’s maturity (I’m pretty sure I’m at least 6-8 years older than her) because she exercised such restraint (masha’allah) and only purchased a few items, and even then, they were only things she would actually use, as opposed to myself randomly grabbing products left and right (just kidding, they were all “necessities”) and tossing them in my shopping basket (that they hand out at the entrance to Sephora). Even at the zigzag-y queue leading to the check-out counter, she showed little to no interest in all the ridiculously adorable minis! I was starting to suspect that she wasn’t really human (because how could anyone not be enticed by those cute minis at the zigzag-y queue?) and so as a final test I pointed out the GlamGlow PoutMud, mumbled something or other and tossed it in my shopping basket, to which she exclaimed that she was interested in trying it as well, and tossed one in her own shopping basket. Success! My adorable sister-in-law had succumbed to the cuteness of a Lip Scrub which meant she was a red-blooded human being (not an Alien life-form impervious to human wants like “makeup-y bits”) after all!

Harvey Nichols Haulage

I was only passing through Harvey Nichols to get to the rest of the Avenues) (I still don’t know my way around the underground parking lot) but ended up getting a few bits along the way from Givenchy and Nars and Laura Mercier and Chanel (despite the Sales Assistants being snooty and quite frankly, unhelpful). I spent KD 92/250 (exactly $307.91 US Dollars) at Harvey Nichols and all I got as a gift with purchase (gwp) was a makeup bag (that I’ll probably never use). For that much money, you’d think I’d get a handful of samples (at least), but I didn’t get a single sample (not even one those ubiquitous single-use perfume samples). That would’ve been fine if the service was great, or at least decent, but all the Sales Assistants were pretty much… a nightmare (they acted as if they were doing me a favor). To add insult to injury, one of the items I got was a dried up mascara (from the Givenchy counter) but they gave me such a hard time about returning it (the very next day) even though I had the receipt with me and everything. Over all, I had such a horrible experience at Harvey Nichols (so very different from the wonderful experiences I’ve had at Jo Malone Boutiques here and here and here) that I don’t think I’ll be returning to Harvey Nichols any time soon, if ever.
