1st US Bath and Body Works Scentportable Haul

These are the Scentportables that I purchased in my 1st US Bath & Body Works Online Order (dis)!

Scentportables aka Car Fragrances retail for $3.50, but there was a 3 for $9 “deal” on them. Locally, they retail for KD 1/500 (which converts to almost $5) each. Chew on that.

While in Kuwait I could only spot Endless Weekend (pass) and Rose Water & Ivy (definite pass) and that God-forsaken Sweet Pea (why is this scent still around?) on the US site they had all the scents and way more Scentporable Clips in all kinds of different designs! I was spoiled (spoilt?) for choice!

Seeing as how hot it could get in Kuwait during the summer, I didn’t wanna’ get anything that I might find irritating with time. Eventually, I went with x2 Vanilla Bean Noel (tried and true favorite in most forms) and a single Campsite Coffee (because… coffee, baby)! Not sure where each collection was from, but I know for a fact that Vanilla Bean Noel is part of the Holiday Traditions Collection that they release every Winter.

My 1st US Bath and Body Works Online Order

I placed my first online order with the US Bath & Body Works (https://www.bathandbodyworks.com/) because I was very disappointed and unimpressed by Kuwait’s Bath & Body Works (https://www.bathandbodyworks.com.kw/en/).

For starters, there wasn’t much to choose from (no variety) and even worse, they had the same items in December… that had been there since June! I was so bored of the unchanging inventory and sick of staring at the exact same items, for months on end! Meanwhile, the US B&BW were constantly adding new stuff to their inventory, in every category, almost on a weekly basis!

What’s more, our local Bath & Body Works (both in-store and online) only had “deals” on the weekend. They weren’t even good deals (already expired items would be reduced to 50% Off while the rest remained closer to full price but would have a Buy 2 Get 1 Free “deal”). Meanwhile, the US B&BW regularly had pretty good deals, in each category, not to mention codes for 20% Off the entire order and their website automatically combined the deals and codes for you (unlike our local site which would give you an error message lol)!

Our local B&BW site wasn’t very intuitive and navigating through it could be quite aggravating. Meanwhile, the US B&BW site was intuitive and had so many more features than ours! You could add items to your “Love-It List” to be purchased at a later date. Heck, you could even read reviews or write your own! Not gonna’ lie, I found the reviews quite helpful when it came to strength of the throw on certain candles!

There was so much good stuff to choose from, so I took my sweet time, up until all the really good deals ended and the main thing I wanted (the coolest candle holder ever!) went out of stock lol Rather than keep waiting for it to come back in stock and risk the other stuff going out of stock, I went ahead and placed my first online order with the US Bath & Body Works on November 30.

I picked up some 3-Wick Candles and Shower Gels (both full size and travel size) and Hand Soaps and Scentportables (car fragrance) and Lip Gloss. Everything arrived well packaged and safely intact (no broken candles… unlike our local B&BW). I was shocked to find that the Shower Gels and Hand Soaps and Lip Gloss all came tightly sealed (confirming my suspicions). That alone blew my mind! To top it all off, they even gave me a 20% Off coupon code for my next order!

Demeter Fragrance Library

https://demeterfragrance.com/

Demeter was conceived in 1996, with a unique and ever expanding perspective on fragrance. The original mission was to capture the beautiful smells of the garden and nature in wearable form.

The Demeter name itself was inspired by the Greek Goddess of Agriculture. The first three fragrances were Dirt, Grass and Tomato, and were sold in a few stores in NYC.

Today, with fragrances from Baby Powder and Pure Soap to Gin & Tonic, Play-Doh, Vanilla Cake Batter and even Pizza, we have radically expanded our olfactory goals and geographic reach. Not only can you now buy Demeter fragrances from Apple Blossom to Zombie, but you can buy them from New York to Beijing, and from Moscow to London.

Bath and Body Works Flash Sale

As if the previous promos (KD 1/750 Showers Gels and KD 2/500 Body Lotions) weren’t enough, seemingly out of the blue, Bath & Body Works had a Flash Sale… only days before “Black Friday“!

Online Promo:
3-wick Candles were reduced from KD 8 to KD 3 each
Shower Gels were reduced from KD 5/500 for KD 2/750
Mini Perfume Sprays (travel size eau de parfums) were reduced from KD 4/500 to KD 1/750
Hand Soaps were reduced from KD 3/750 to KD 1/750

Fragrance Mists were reduced from KD 7 toKD 2/750
Travel Size Fragrance Mists were reduced from KD 3/250 to KD 1/750
Travel Size Body Lotions were reduced from KD 2/750 to KD 1/750

Room Sprays were reduced from KD 2/750 to KD 1/750
Wallflower Refills were reduced from KD 2/250 to KD 1
Scentportable Holders (car fragrance) were reduced to KD 1

The total for this online order was KD 50/500 (free shipping)

Once again, I was feeling pretty smug about placing my order when I did, because the 40% Off promo they had for “Black Friday” (or “Cyber Week” as they call it on the site), was pretty disappointing and not nearly as good as the one they had during the Flash Sale.

I even included the percentage saved next to each item (nicked from their site, I didn’t math this time lol) just to show you guys the difference. It adds up, you guys.

Needless to say, I did not purchase anything online or in-store from our local Bath&Body Works during “Black Friday” (hard pass).

I placed my order on November 21 and everything (including the wasteful pages and pages of the receipt/invoice) arrived safely and well-packaged the next day.

Haul: Bath and Body Works

Back Camera

I keep hauling Bath & Body Works and MAC Cosmetics, complete with photos and all but never actually get around to updating my blog and by then, a new collection would have come out. Does anyone actually care that these hauls might not be in chronological order? I only have a few more B&BW hauls to work my way through before I’ve caught up to the newer collections. Then, I think I will take my time with MAC and blog about MAC products by collection, before moving on to single product reviews of MAC products. Yes, that sounds like an efficient plan.

Another 3-for-2 deal on Antibacterial Hand Soaps, I picked up Blushing Mimosa, Berry Parfait, and another Ocean Citrus. I enjoyed using up Berry Parfait (sweet candy) and Ocean Citrus (lemon love), but blushing mimosa had a synthetic smell that was off-putting.
