White Barn Tea & Lemon Scented Candle retails for KD 7/500

Same day, different receipt. I picked up a bunch other stuff at Bath & Body Works, besides those Henri Bendel Signature Candles (hauled here). Like I said, I’ve pretty much been avoiding the place (Bath & Body Works), meaning I hadn’t been keeping up with all the new releases. Meanwhile, they (Bath & Body Works) had come out with a whole slew of new products! Ultra Conditioning Bath & Shower Jelly and Really Refreshing All-Over Mist and Seriously Soft Body Lotion and Really Refreshing Foaming Scrub and Clay Body Scrub, to name a few. Most of those were from the CocoaShea Collection (featuring Coco Butter and Shea Butter, obviously). Other products from the CocoaShea Collection included Richly Nourishing Lightweight Body Oil and Really Refreshing Aloe Gel Lotion and Richly Nourishing Whipped Body Butter and Incredibly Creamy Body Wash. The CocoaShea Collection was available in 3 delicious scents; Cucumber, and Honey, and Coconut. Each scent had it’s own packaging, depicting either Cucumber Slices for the Cucumber range, a Honeycomb for the Honey range, and Coconuts for the Coconut range. Naturally, I had to pick up a few things to try out from the CocoaShea Collection, especially with those names (over-saturated with adverbs). I mean, it’s pretty much how I describe most products (really refreshing, seriously soft, etc…). I also picked up a Clay Body Scrub (different collection) and yet another Scented Candle (because the previous 6 Scented Candles clearly weren’t enough). Luckily, there was a Buy 3 Get 3 Free Deal, going on at the time.

I’ve already tried everything out (back home), and can honestly say that I’m obsessed with every single item in this haul! They all performed pretty well (did what they claimed to do) and most of them smelled ridiculously good while doing it!

Bath and Body Works – Henri Bendel Scented Candles

This is what happens when you try to resist the temptation.

I love things that smell nice! Anything that has a pleasant scent just brings me such joy! Perfume, Shower Gel, Wallflowers, Soaps, Body Lotion, Lip Balm, you name it! Scented Candles, obviously fall into that category. Unfortunately, as Cardi B so eloquently put it, “these expensive” (granted she meant Louboutins, not Candles, but same thing). I mean, even with their usual Buy Two Get One Free “deal”, at KD 7/500 (exactly $25 U.S. Dollars) a piece, it kinda’ adds up. It’s fine if you buy a (as in one, as in single) Scented Candle, every once in a blue moon (for special occasions, birthday gift, whatever) but when you buy several at a time (practically stockpiling them), during every single visit, as I tend to do, it becomes a problem. Especially when you consider the fact that not every scent I buy is a “win” (pitiful throw, burns all weird, smelled nicer in-store, etc…). Factor in my tendency to break them (they literally keep slipping out of my hands), the latest victim being a virtually untouched (as unburnt as Daenarys) Tiki Beach Candle (hauled here) and I’m practically hemorrhaging money (okay, maybe I’m exaggerating… slightly). As such, I decided to boycott Bath & Body Works (as mentioned here).

I stayed away from Bath & Body Works for about 7 or 8 months (since the start of March up until the end of September 2017), before finally caving and going back for some Handsoaps (hauled here). Like someone who’d quit smoking for years, but got sucked right back in, from a single drag on a cigarette, I was back with a vengeance! After forgoing Scented Candles for so long, I kinda’ went cray and overdid it, especially considering these Henri Bendel Signature Candles (why are Henri Bendel Signature Candles being sold at Bath & Body Works again?) were actually KD 10/500 (exactly $35 U.S. Dollars) each, which is pretty steep, but there was a Buy 3 Get 3 Free “deal”, so there’s that. Plus, these are Henri Bendel Candles after all, so there’s that too. Truthfully, if Scented Candles make me happy, in this cold and cruel yet beautiful world, then by God, Scented Candles I will buy!

Bath and Body Works Post-Sale Haul

They were stocking the shelves at Bath & Body Works (Marina Mall) with two new(er) collections so I decided to pop in for a quick look and ended up with two bags worth… as per usual. I was actually on the lookout for the Tutti Dolce Collection but apparently that’s too much to ask for. The two new(er) collections that we did have were released world-wide sometime in 2016, while we were only just getting them (in Kuwait) in the middle of February 2017. As always, they had a “Buy Two Get One Free” deal. Sadly, they don’t let you combine products from other collections, which I think is silly because not everyone is crazy as I am and willing to experiment with full-sized, all-new products, at a time. Even I would like to combine my tried and true favorites with some of the newer stuff and qualify for that deal, rather than having to purchase three newer products and three older products from their signature collection. Granted, I’m actually purchasing four products and getting the two for free but still, that’s a total of six too many, as opposed to a more reasonable total of three products. I could just purchase one product be done with it but truth be told, Bath & Body Works products are over-priced (which is painfully obvious during their Big Sale) so even though I’m technically spending more money, if I get a deal on them, it tricks my brain into thinking I’m saving more money in the long run… Does that make sense?

Bomb Cosmetics Haulage

I was on a much-needed vacation abroad, traipsing through the cutesy souvenir shops nestled amongst darling little cafes on cobblestoned streets, when my nose detected a ridiculously yummy scent! I broke away from my friends and immediately followed my nose which led me to Beauty Bar. As soon as I set foot in-store, I was hit with an explosion of mouth-watering scents! They sold all kinds of beautifully-scented body and bath products including stuff from Bomb Cosmetics. It was the perfect place to buy gifts for my family and friends. I’ve never tried Bomb Cosmetics before but if I had to liken them to anything, I’d say Bomb Cosmetics was a mash-up of Lush products with Bath & Body Works scents. Bomb Cosmetics products are hand-made from natural ingredients, vegan-friendly, and they don’t test on animals. I wasn’t in the UK but apparently Bomb Cosmetics is a UK-based brand that supplies several European countries with their extremely affordable products. When my friends eventually caught up to me, we all ended up purchasing stuff from Bomb Cosmetics for our friends and family back home. Obviously, I’ve already given the gifts to the people they were intended for but I also picked up a handful of stuff for myself, as you can see.

Bath and Body Works Big Sale Haulage

Since the Bath and Body Works offerings at Marina Mall were pitiful, I decided to check out what they had in stock at The Avenues, and brought my adorable sister-in-law with me. We also stopped by a Sephora but that’s another haul for another day.

Jo Malone Haulage

I was at Marina Mall when I came across the fabled Jo Malone Boutique. I’ve only ever heard beauty gurus on YouTube talking about Jo Malone fragrances (at which point I would “X” out of the video because I didn’t think a Jo Malone Boutique would ever open up in Kuwait and due to shipping restrictions I would never be able to order any of their fragrances online so I wasn’t interested in learning more about them).
