I was severely disappointed by the fact that they were selling the Holiday 2017 Holiday Collection instead of the Holiday 2018 Collection at Bath & Body Works on December 2018 (pics here). However, I didn’t realize they were doing that, up until I started looking up the fragrance notes for this post, which by then, was obviously too late. This right here, is the reason I stopped buying from Bath & Body Works for so long.
They had some promo or other going on at the time (Buy 3 Get 4 Free), so I grabbed a few things (which turned out to be total fails). I got x2 Dry Shampoo and x2 Body Stuff (Shower Gel + Body Scrub) and x2 Bathroom Stuff (Shower Steamer and Hand Soap) and x2 Scented Candles and x3 Room Sprays. As the icing on the cake, not all the items were included in the promo -_-
I wanted to branch out a little and try scents I normally wouldn’t go for (yes, you read correctly) which is why I picked up 2 full-sized (8 fl oz) each body lotions in Be Enchanted and Cashmere Glow. Be Enchanted is totally floral (which I hate) and has a little musk in it (which I also hate) but dries down to sweetness. It also has Vitamin E… just because. Cashmere Glow on the other hand is a very musky scent with some Apricot (eww) and Peach (double eww) thrown into the mix. Normally, I wouldn’t touch either one of these with a 10 foot pole but as I said, I’m trying to branch out and try different scents, just for some perspective.
Move over L’Occitane Verbena (which I’ve reviewed here), I’ve found a new favorite clean, refreshing, uplifting scent from the Dove Go Fresh Energizing Line in grapefruit and lemongrass. From now on, I’ll be sure to snap up anything that has lemongrass in it because I simply love that scent and apparently I really enjoy grapefruit-scented products (like the one I’ve reviewed here).
I keep hauling Bath & Body Works and MAC Cosmetics, complete with photos and all but never actually get around to updating my blog and by then, a new collection would have come out. Does anyone actually care that these hauls might not be in chronological order? I only have a few more B&BW hauls to work my way through before I’ve caught up to the newer collections. Then, I think I will take my time with MAC and blog about MAC products by collection, before moving on to single product reviews of MAC products. Yes, that sounds like an efficient plan.
Another 3-for-2 deal on Antibacterial Hand Soaps, I picked up Blushing Mimosa, Berry Parfait, and another Ocean Citrus. I enjoyed using up Berry Parfait (sweet candy) and Ocean Citrus (lemon love), but blushing mimosa had a synthetic smell that was off-putting.
