Sultan Center Haul (June)

I was out with the kids again and the youngest was misbehaving. I was already dead tired, but I’ve kinda’ made it a point to dole out swift, if not immediate punishment, when it comes to the kids (so they remember). As such, I dropped her off at home and went right back outside, taking the other two along with me. The youngest was visibly upset at being left out, as intended.

Anywho, I’ve been meaning to get the older two started on wearing antiperspirant/deodorant regularly. They participate in all sorts of water-related activities at Summer Camp, from “Swimming Day” to “Foam Football” (Soccer for the Americans) to regular “Sports Day” all of which involved them showering afterwards over there, and then I get them to shower again back at home, before bed (well, except the eldest, who only washes her body regularly, but her hair every other day, because I don’t think her hair can handle daily washing). Despite the constant showers, the kids can smell a bit… ripe. Also, it’s shaping up to be an exceptionally hot Summer in Kuwait.

So I took them to Sultan Center (Salmiya) where they each got to pick out their own Deodorant. We also stocked up on some snackage (some healthy, but mostly not) and on our way back home, despite being way past their bedtime, decided to made a quick stop at the McDonald’s Drive-Thru on Gulf Road and treat each of them to an Oreo McFlurry (knowing full well that they were going to go back and gloat about it to their younger sister). It was around 2:30am at this point, and yet the beach was packed with families just hanging out! Even the McDonald’s Kiddie Playground (outside) was crowded with kids (of all ages) running around, as happy as you please.

Back home, the youngest was so upset at being left out (most definitely imagining that her brother and sister were out having all kinds of fun, while she was stuck at home) that she chose to stay up and wait for us. As soon as we walked in with bags of groceries snackage, her eyes widened like saucers and she proceeded to grill her siblings about where they’d gone, what they’d done, etc… The eldest did not miss this opportunity to answer with great relish. It’s been weeks, but the youngest hasn’t misbehaved since!

Sultan Center Small Haul (June)

Realizing that I’d forgotten to pick up Shampoo (which was one of the main reasons I’d gone to City Center, in the first place), I headed towards Sultan Center.

I needed some sort of “Deep Cleansing” Shampoo (I don’t feel that my hair is clean unless it squeaks, and all these “no poo” and “low sulfate” shampoos just don’t make mah herr squeak) and at this point, any would do! Since I was still in Salmiya, I made my way towards that branch (the one across from Al Bustan Mall and Fanar Mall and whatever else).

Basically, I was literally right next to Sultan Center Salmiya (during this nonsense) and then drove all the way to City Center Salmiya (dis) and then drove all the way back to Sultan Center Salmiya. Smart! The total for this entire haulage was KD 10/700.

Sultan Center Haulage (April)

I stopped by Sultan Center (Souq Sharq) because I’d run out of my new favorite psuedo-coffee drink (Torabika) and neither I nor any of my friends or family could seem to find it anywhere. I was just as unsuccessful at Sultan Center, which was why I ended up getting x2 sachets of Nescafe Gold Cappuccino and x2 sachets of Nescafe Gold Double Chocolate Mocha to tide me over.

Since I was there anyway, I stocked up on some snackage (which was why I’ve been regaining weight lol)! Most of this stuff was “spotted” earlier in my previous Sultan Center post (here) and some of it was hauled earlier as well (here).

KitKat Coconut

My cousin’s cat (he’d named her Trouble lol) had just given birth to 3 beautiful kittens (1 female in a patchwork of black and brown and 2 all-white males). All 3 were just so darn cuuute! While watching them walk (or bounce, rather), I couldn’t help but think of cotton-balls (because they were just so fluffy lol).

The female kitten was such a scaredy-cat (literally, lol)! Any time anyone would visit my cousin, she’d run and hide and refuse to come out until they’d left, which was a bummer, because she looked the cutest and I would’ve loved to play with her, but I didn’t want her to have a heart attack either. Meanwhile, the other two male kittens (who were absolutely gorgeous, mind you) walked side-by-side with such purpose and intent, you’d think they were exploring the Serengeti, not my cousin’s living room, or more specifically, his couch lol They practically looked like tiny lions! Just watching those two balls of fluff “prowling” around the place, melted my heart repeatedly over the course of my visit! They were just so stinkin’ cute! ♥

As such, I was pretty much living at my cousin’s place.

During one of those visits, I was stuffing my face in his kitchenette, when I stumbled upon a box of KitKat in the flavor Coconut. Honestly, I wasn’t all that intrigued (I’m not big on chocolate). However, he kept insisting I try one. So, I did. It was surprisingly really, really good!

Being the glutton that I am, I asked him (I’m shameless lol) if I could take one more (to inhale at my leisure, back home). He insisted I take two (isn’t he a sweetie? … despite dis lol). Ever since then, I’ve been on the lookout for KitKat Coconut (which surprise, surprise isn’t stocked at my local co-op). I have spotted them and purchased them at Sultan Center since, though. They had a whole bunch of new(er) KitKat flavors, but I was only interested in KitKat Coconut.

If you happen to spot KitKat Coconut, do give it a try!

Sultan Center Haulage (February)

My first Sultan Center Haulage of the year! This was about 3 or 4 days before Valentine’s Day so I kinda’ went crazy over the Limited Edition stuff and also… I was hangry (which is appropriate, since I’m posting this during Ramadan, the time when people default to hangry)! Like I said in my previous Spotted at Sultan Center post (here), I hit up three different locations on my hunt for Herbal Tea. Even when I’d succeeded in averting my eyes and avoiding certain items at the first branch, by the time I hit up the final branch, my will power was non-existent (all tapped out) lol

Spotted at Sultan Center (Valentine’s Day)

Technically, it was a few days before Valentine’s Day, but the title sounded nicer this way! I was actually on the hunt for some Herbal Tea (as much as I enjoy them, my pseudo-coffee drinks, they weren’t much help in the sleep department) which was the main reason why I hit up several branches of Sultan Center (Promenade – Salmiya – Souq Sharq)… on the same day… back-to-back (totally sane behavior).

Carrefour Haulage (January)

Once again, I was at the Avenues and on my way back to my car, popped by Carrefour to replenish my stock of Jack Link’s Beef Jerky and pick up another Colgate 360 Toothbrush (every time I open up a new one to start using, I like to go out and purchase a back-up as quickly as possible, especially since I don’t always find these babies at any given local co-op).

While there, I couldn’t resist picking up these bars of KitKat because the name of the flavor (Cookie Crumble) made me lol Inspired by recent success with Lux Soap (here), I decided to try out a random scent, which smelled nice in-store, but was so floral and just awful during use!

At the Makeup Aisle, I was completely smitten with a Maybelline Nail Polish in the most delicious shade of coffee brown that was appropriately named Dark Roast! Keeping up with the chocolate-y theme (you know how much I love my themes), I snatched up a tiny pot of Cocoa Butter Body Cream from the brand Himalaya (or Himalaya Herbals? I dunno… it’s just one of those brands that’s always been around, in every drugstore and local co-op, since the beginning of time) to stash in my car for when I forget to moisturize. Lastly, I hit up the Essence counter and picked up a few things (more on that below).
