Sultan Center Haul #5

Towards the end of Ramadan, I decided to check out the Salmiya branch of Sultan Center, for a change. Unfortunately, I got a lot of unwanted attention from the younger set (so thirsty!) which just reminded me why I so rarely visit the Salmiya branch. I mean at Souk Sharq, I pretty much shop in peace (bar one or two minor incidents). However, at the Salmiya branch, I’d end up with a few stragglers trailing behind me the whole time I’d be there and they’d be mumbling the most random things at me! Despite getting absolutely ZERO encouragement from me, they’d even feel the need to give me their input! When I grabbed the KitKat Peanut Butter Bar, one guy was like “No, no, you don’t want that. Trust me, go with the Original“, which despite my best efforts, actually made me laugh (because no one had even asked him for his opinion)!

In my efforts to, y’know, live to see another day (full deets here), I managed to snag a few of the more “healthy” snacks (lawl) as you can clearly see. They’ve actually got a ton of cool items over at the Salmiya branch of Sultan Center, but I avoid the place because whenever I do go, it always happens to be crowded, and I personally prefer to hoard shop in peace.

Sultan Center Haul #3

On April 15 Sultan Center (Souk Sharq) beckoned me yet again with its siren call and I ended up getting even more snackage! Honestly, I just wanted more of those Chips Ahoy! Brownie Filled Cookies, but couldn’t find any. So, I kinda’ went ham and overdid it with the other stuff. In my defense, they just had so many (relatively) new snacks!

The Sultan Center Haul #1

My first (hence #1) Sultan Center Haulage of the year 2018 (I think I’m just going to title them by number from now on, much easier that way). Honestly, I just needed some Makeup Remover because mine was about to run out. I ended up getting a few personal care items, drinks, savory snacks and sweet snacks too. Unfortunately, not everything was a win.

Sultan Center Snacks Haul

My bestie and I were supposed to go walking at the beach for some much needed fresh air and exercise… except she just had to make a quick stop at Sultan Center to get a certain powder (that she mixes in with yogurt and uses as potato chip dip) for her weekly gatherings. I wasn’t planning on getting anything except for a can of Pepsi (sweet) and some Pringles (savory) but I couldn’t find the light blue one (Salt & Vinegar) so I opted for a mini tin of the Ketchup flavor… and then I got all the other stuff too since I was going to be standing in line anyway. We went walking on the beach for about all 5 minutes, before we got back in her car and headed towards McDonald’s drive-thru #stayvigilante

The Sultan Center Snackage Haul

I was actually at the Homeware section at Debenhams (top floor) to pick up a few Rose Gold Picture Frames for my adorable sister-in-law (my younger brother’s wife). They were going with a specific theme for their Living Room and I was planning on surprising them (well, her, mostly, ‘cuz guys kinda’ aren’t as interested in that kinda’ stuff) with the Photo Frames, later on. I was also starving because I didn’t get a chance to eat earlier. Plus, it was that time of the month, so I was craving some chocolate (which I normally can’t stand). So I grabbed a few snacks and some random items, from The Sultan Center (all the way at the opposite end of Soug Sharq Mall). Remember back in the day when they used to teach kids about Food Pyramids (grains, dairy, veggies, protein)? I managed to grab something from all the necessary food groups; Chocolate, Gummi Candy, Hard Candy, Potato Chips, and Savory Pastries.

Sultan Center (Shuwaikh) Collective Haul

It was towards the end of summer…

I was starving and I was in a spend-y mood (deadly combination). Now, despite the huge haulage (as evident by the photo above), I was actually very, very, very disappointed with the Shuwaikh branch of The Sultan Center! There were bugs having a party on all the exposed fruits and veggies, fridge doors were left open (meaning the frozen food items like burger patties, seafood, and whatever else were just left to melt), every single tub of ice-cream I picked up was sticky (gross!), the seal was broken on a lot of food items, other food items (an entire row of Lay’s Forno Lemon & Black Pepper Baked Potato Chips in the smallest size) had expired months ago (yet still remained on the shelves), the whole place was a mess! Some areas (with the most traffic) were relatively alright but for the most part, the entire place looked like a scene from Mad Max… lol imagine how much larger this haul would’ve been if I hadn’t been grossed out.
