While there, I saw a bunch of interesting things (pics here) and consequentially walked out with a small haul of my own!
Like I said at the end of my 2020 First Half Post (here), it was very interesting how we (as humans) cope with certain situations (like the pandemic).
For example, I went through my shopping spree (spiral?) early on and got it out of my system early on.
I ordered everything from Hair Accessories and Jewelry (I felt the inexplicable need to own Hoops) to Shoes and Clothes from Centerpoint (20+ orders here).
I also bought a ton of toys and floaties for the pool (not all of them for the kids heehee) from Fantasy World. I even placed a few orders with the local online Bath & Body Works store (1 and 2 and 3).
At one point, I got several sets (not to mention the singles) of bright and cheerful pens from Pilot Pens, as shown.
Mera made me promise not to have lunch, because she was bringing over “The best seafood you’ve ever tasted in your entire life!”
I however was already used to her exaggerations, so I knew to keep my expectations low.
After I’d ignored Mera’s phone calls one too many times, she’d called up another one of her friends and made plans to go walking in Shaheed Park. After the walk, her friend had taken Mera to Lobster Shack for the first time.
Since Mera had enjoyed the food so much, she had to have it everyday, until she got sick of it (her MO). That’s why she was bringing it over to my place that day, and would go there by herself to have lunch there, every single day (unless we had plans), up until she could no longer stand it.
Mera called me up over the phone and asked me if I prefer Mixed Seafood (Mussels + Crab + Shrimp) or just all Shrimp? I told her I was fine with whatever, but after much prodding from her, said that I prefered Mixed Seafood (I eat everything).
To which she responded, she doesn’t eat Mussels or Crabs and prefers Shrimp. So, I told her she could get whatever, again. I didn’t see the issue…
She came over with a Tub of Mixed Seafood from Lobster Shack… in the size Small (shown in the video) meant to be shared between the both of us.
Technically, it was a few days before Valentine’s Day, but the title sounded nicer this way! I was actually on the hunt for some Herbal Tea (as much as I enjoy them, my pseudo-coffee drinks, they weren’t much help in the sleep department) which was the main reason why I hit up several branches of Sultan Center (Promenade – Salmiya – Souq Sharq)… on the same day… back-to-back (totally sane behavior).
My latest trip to Sephora was quite eventful! For starters, I lost my White Sephora Card, again. So, I had to sign up for a new one, all over again. I used the same e-mail and phone number, so I’m hoping that the points got transferred (forgot to check). If not, that’s still okay, because I purchased no less than 3 perfumes as birthday gifts (2 girls, 1 guy) which will definitely help me rack up the points to get upgraded from a White Sephora Card to a Black Sephora Card (deets here) that much faster. The perfumes are not shown because I already gifted them to the recipients. I did ask for some fragrance samples (because buying perfumes for others kinda’ made me wanna’ play around with some of my own) and surprise surprise, they’d “just ran out of samples“. However, I was promised that my perfume picks would get decanted into tiny little vials in lieu of fragrance samples (which made me happy)! Plus, I got everything shown in the photo above as a gift with purchase (unprompted) which put a hole in my samples theory (mentioned here) where I mistakenly thought that if you purchased skincare and makeup-y bits, you could only get skincare samples and makeup-y samples, and if you purchased perfumes then you could only get perfume samples. Apparently, the Sales Assistants just hand out whatever to whomever, whenever.
This pretty notebook shouts summer with a sky blue cover and palm tree design featuring graphic print glitter text ‘Choose Happy‘ written across the front.
How adorable is this notebook? I absolutely love the graphics and the color scheme! It’s all so very cute and summer-y! I know, I know. As an adult female, I really should stop visiting Claire’s (namely because it’s a little girls’ store) but I just can’t help stopping by from time to time, because it really is such a cute store and I always find the cutest things there (like this notebook)! ^_~
