I finally got the Black Wide-Leg Pants that I’ve been obsessing over! I first saw these pants at the Avenues Phase III Branch of H&M (directly across from Harvey Nichols) but they were too small, which is why I decided to visit the Salmiya Branch of H&M but never found them (I don’t believe they were ever stocked over there) but finally hauled them from the Avenues Phase II Branch (across from Shake Shack).
It’s a long, straight leg with pleats at the top and pockets on each side (+5 swag points), a concealed zip on one side, and a hook-and-eye fastener.
I live for Wide-Leg Pants! It might just be my memory playing tricks on me but I believe I fell in love with the look of Wide-Leg Pants when I saw James McAvoy sporting a pair on Children of Dune back when I was a tween. He was topless and walking around barefoot. I thought that looked ridiculously cool! As such, I started noticing the topless-and-barefoot combo accompanied with Wide-Leg Pants on males a lot more, especially in Anime, hence the affinity. Not that I’m about to start walking around topless anytime soon but there’s something to be said for strutting around barefoot in Wide-Leg Pants. It just makes me feel ridiculously cool! I could go on and on about how cool these Pants are but I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. With that being said, these are way too long on me so high heels are my only option. I’m so happy that I found these pants! Now I can quit stalking all the H&M branches in the country… These Wide-Leg Pants retailed for KD 16/950 which is a bit dear considering it’s from H&M but I would’ve payed an arm and a leg if they’d asked for it.
The last time I was at H&M (Avenues Phase III) I fell in love with these gorgeous flowy Pants. Sadly, there was just the one (last piece) and it was about 100 sizes too small. As such, I decided to hit up all the other H&M branches to hunt down those Pants. Unfortunately, I didn’t find them at Salmiya Branch either (no one knew what I was talking about) but I did get a handful of really good pieces.
According to the Priveleges App, that I’d downloaded on my phone earlier, H&M’s collaboration with The Weeknd was just released in stores (beginning of March). Since I was pretty much obsessed with Starboy (mainly because of Daft Punk), I made time to go check out the collection at H&M (Phase III Branch). I wasn’t impressed with what was left (which had been very picked over) but I did find several exciting new pieces (that had nothing to do with The Weeknd‘s collab) and H&M also happened to be having a Buy Two Get One Free deal going on.
H&M was quickly becoming my favorite clothing store because I could pick up a lot of wardrobe staples at a relatively inexpensive price, as opposed to only one or two pieces from a more higher-end store. As such, I went back to H&M again at the beginning of February and got some more stuff.
I went to H&M (Salmiya Branch) again in December because they were having a Buy Two Get One Free deal on cosmetics. I’ve always enjoyed H&M cosmetics because they’ve got a vast array of products and everything is so inexpensive! I’ve purchased so many of their face masks, scented wet-wipes, eyeshadow palettes, colored eyeliners, black liquid liner (which is amazing!), nail polishes, and so much more from them, in the past. In fact, I always used to purchase at least one pink-y lip gloss every single time I visited H&M. However, I stopped purchasing makeup-y bits from them because everything always looks so ratchet (severely picked over) now. Plus, I feel like they bumped up the prices. With that being said, I downloaded the AlShaya Privileges Club Application on my phone (which is supposed to tell me whenever any of the AlShaya Stores such as H&M, Victoria’s Secret, etc… are having some sort of “offer” which normally aren’t even that enticing). That’s how I found out about the Buy Two Get One Free deal on select cosmetics (not all). I wasn’t really in the mood to try anything on in the changing room so I only purchased another one of those stripe-y pajama pants, aside from all the makeup-y bits. Now on to the haulage…
Over the years, I’ve only ever visited the two H&M branches at the Avenues (H&M Phase I and H&M Grand Avenues). I know of the H&M branch in Salmiya (facing Fanar Mall) but it’s so far out of my way, and the parking situation is a nightmare so I never felt the need to go there. However, I’ve begun to suspect that different branches have different items, like certain collections will only be sold in certain branches. I mean I can understand it when they do that in the U.S. or U.K. or anywhere else in the world where it can take a year to get from one branch to the next but in little old Kuwait, where it takes all of five minutes to get from one border to the next? C’mon now.
The first time I went to the Salmiya Branch of H&M (this past December), I was bit overwhelmed. I was only there for quick peek because I was with a friend and we just happened to be in Salmiya. The 3-floor H&M store seemed huge! Once I got a feel for the place, it seemed less so. The basement floor was for children. The ground floor had a mish-mash of all their clothing items with a sufficient changing room area. The top floor had even more clothing items (smart evening wear, business casual, and active wear) with a section dedicated to pajamas and lingerie, including only two changing rooms. There was an entire section dedicated to accessories and a somewhat smaller cosmetics section directly by the cash register. They’ve also got an entire area just for men, which I didn’t notice until my second or third visit.
Let me preface this by saying I think Jeffrey Dean Morgan is ridiculously hot! He’s made me swoon in the movie P.S. I Love You. He’s made me cry as Denny Duquette on Grey’s Anatomy. I’ve loved him as John Winchester on Supernatural. Now, I pretty much worship him as Negan on The Walking Dead! As such, just like when any normal girl crushes on a guy… I’m trying to emulate him (no really, that’s totally normal).
Step 1 – Get a cool leather jacket (like the one he rocks on The Walking Dead).
Step 2 – Get rid of every ounce of fat on my body (because said leather jacket looks mighty loose on him).
Step 3 – Grow a foot taller (He is 6’1 whereas I am 5’1).
The first two are doable but I dunno’ about that last one. I’m pretty sure it requires surgery. Also, sounds painful.
You were always there for me when I needed you. Your steadfast support helped me during the most heated of times. Your cooling touch soothed my soul like no other. Even towards the end, you were never too stern or stiff with me, even though I was the very reason you became clouded with darkness. I never meant to hurt you… they were all only a momentary distraction in comparison to you. You were the one. It was always going to be you. My one regret, we hadn’t met sooner in life (like say highschool). Goodbye, old friend. Goodbye, true friend. You are gone but as long as I live, never forgotten. Please, let us all have a moment of silence for H&M Eyebrow Fix. We lost a good one, folks. Rip H&M Eyebrow Fix.
