In hindsight, it wasn’t a bad year to be honest, well… at least not for me.
Like I said in my post Chef LuLu Part 8 (here) an ex-friend and I went to The Avenues on Nov 27 2020.
The plan was to hit up Sephora to check out their Black Friday deals but instead she decided – all on her own – to park by Prestige so we could have dinner at Joe’s.
Afterwards, rather than wander around aimlessly, I decided to check out the Boots over at Prada and Chanel (which was a bust).
Next, we hit up Gucci, despite the long line of people waiting to go in. While my friend made herself comfortable, I had the lovely sales assistant help me select my newest baby, the Gucci GG Marmont Matelassé Leather Mini Shoulder Bag (here).
I suggested we hit up Sephora as our last stop (the only reason we had gone to the Avenues in the first place), but Mera declined saying it was already 9pm. By the time we walked back to her car and she dropped me home and got back to her home, she said she’d be cutting it too close to her 10pm curfew.
On our way back to the car, I stopped by Chloe.
I’d clocked a gorgeous pair of Sandals when we’d first arrived and had made a mental note to try them on later (on our way back).
Fifteen minutes later, the sales assistant was wrapping these babies up for me, while the manager was handling the transaction.
These babies retailed for KD 304 which was quite dear, but I was completely smitten and therefore hopeless against their charm!
Mera made me promise not to have lunch, because she was bringing over “The best seafood you’ve ever tasted in your entire life!”
I however was already used to her exaggerations, so I knew to keep my expectations low.
After I’d ignored Mera’s phone calls one too many times, she’d called up another one of her friends and made plans to go walking in Shaheed Park. After the walk, her friend had taken Mera to Lobster Shack for the first time.
Since Mera had enjoyed the food so much, she had to have it everyday, until she got sick of it (her MO). That’s why she was bringing it over to my place that day, and would go there by herself to have lunch there, every single day (unless we had plans), up until she could no longer stand it.
Mera called me up over the phone and asked me if I prefer Mixed Seafood (Mussels + Crab + Shrimp) or just all Shrimp? I told her I was fine with whatever, but after much prodding from her, said that I prefered Mixed Seafood (I eat everything).
To which she responded, she doesn’t eat Mussels or Crabs and prefers Shrimp. So, I told her she could get whatever, again. I didn’t see the issue…
She came over with a Tub of Mixed Seafood from Lobster Shack… in the size Small (shown in the video) meant to be shared between the both of us.
