Sephora Haul (Nov 2020)

Like I said in my post Chef LuLu Part 8 (here) an ex-friend (Mera) took me to Sephora on November 29 2020 to make up for ambushing me earlier.

I couldn’t even remember the last time I’d been to Sephora!

I was so happy to be back!

There were so much to look at, new brands, new products and new potential holy grails! There were all kinds of Gift Sets and Value Sets as well!

Not 5 minutes in, Mera started whining about being hungry.

I’d asked her if she’d picked up the Nars Blush that she’d wanted. Her reply was that she was so hungry and no longer interested in buying anything (which I suspected was her intent from the start).

She kept nagging and nagging, but I ignored her and eventually she just bounced lol

She said she’d go ahead of me to The Cheesecake Factory and I could just meet up with her afterwards.

Glad to be rid of her, I hurriedly agreed, but in hindsight, what she did was not cool.

She kept calling me and nagging me to come over but I ignored her. I wasn’t gonna’ cut my first visit to Sephora in such a long time short, for her.

However, I did pick up the Nars Blush (KD 13) that she’d wanted, to surprise her.

As for myself, I’d barely bought any Makeup in 2020, due to my health issues (heart palpitations), but by the end of the year I’d learned how to handle it and quite frankly, I had missed Makeup!

I walked outta’ there with two shopping bags (to make up for lost time lol)!

I got my first Natasha Denona Eyeshadow Palette which was reduced from KD 39 to KD 23/250

I also got the Too Faced Natural Eyes Neutral Eye Shadow Palette (which I’d been lusting after, ever since my Spotted at Sephora post, here) which was reduced from KD 13/750 to KD 9/500

I couldn’t help but get the Kat Von D Walnut Brow Struck Dimension Powder which was meant for the brows, but I thought would make a beautiful eyeshadow! Plus, it was reduced from KD 8/500 to KD 3/250

Those were the only discounted items I got, whereas I payed full price for the rest.

It wasn’t just all Makeup though.

It was mostly Skincare, with a few Hair Care items, Body Care and even a Perfume Mist.

Shiseido Waso Hydration Kit retails for KD 15/750

Shiseido J-Beauty On-The-Go Kit retails for KD 8

I’ve always loved Shiseido! They make excellent products, from Makeup to Makeup Tools and their Skincare is next level (Japanese brand, after all)! In fact, my fave Sunscreen is by Shiseido (hauled here)!

That’s why I chose these two Skincare Sets from Shiseido.

Their WASO range, inspired by the Japanese food tradition of Washoku, featured superfood ingredients and nature-driven solutions. The Waso Hydration Kit included a Face Cream (featuring Carrot) and a Face Cleanser (featuring Honey).

Their Benefiance range consisted of best-selling luxurious anti-aging treatments. The J-Beauty On-The-Go Kit included a Pure Retinol Face Mask and a Pure Retinol Eye Mask and a thing of Oil-Control Blotting Paper.

While the Waso Hydration Kit was practical yet looked fun, I was most excited for the J-Beauty On-The-Go Kit, particularly because of all the rave reviews on their Pure Retinol Eye Mask!

Marc Jacobs Oui Mon Cherry Gift Set retails for KD 17

I love Decadence Eau de Parfum (hauled here) but aside from the mini Lipstick and mini Eyeliner (Sephora Birthday Gift) and a mini Mascara (received as a sample with purchase from Sephora), I’ve never actually tried any non-sample Makeup from Marc Jacobs.

This cute little Gift Set had a funny pun-ny name (oui mon cherry, oui mon cheri, geddit?) a full sized Coconut Lip Oil and travel size bestsellers including the O!Mega Bronzer (which I’ve always wanted to try, but the full size is actually gigantic) and Dew Drops Highlighter (just beautiful) and Mascara (yes, please!) all housed in an adorable Cherry Red Clutch Bag! So cute!

A four-piece set featuring full-size lip oil, plus travel-size highlighter, bronzer and Marc Jacobs’ bestselling mascara in a cheery cherry clutch.

No need to cherry pick, everything in this set is the best of the bunch. Create an effortless, radiant holiday look with full-size Re(cover) lip oil, plus travel-size Velvet Noir, O!Mega Bronze and Dew Drops. To top it all off, this limited-edition set is garnished with a giftable glossy cherry bag.

1x 0.17 fl oz/5mL Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter in Dew You? (golden peach)

Natasha Denona Biba All Neutral Eyeshadow Palette was reduced from KD 39 to KD 23/250

I’ve never tried anything from Natasha Denona before either, mostly because it felt like a bit of a splurge. I’ve only ever heard good things though. Literally everyone agrees that the Eyeshadow Palettes are superb!

Once I noticed the Eyeshadow Palettes had been reduced in price to something more reasonable, I had to pick one up.

I went with the Biba All Neutral Eyeshadow Palette because I figured I’d get the most use out of it. The packaging, although basic (and dare I say ugly) was quite practical with a huge mirror and large pans.

The shades were mostly mattes with just three metallics (for some oomph), which I quite liked! Aside from the usual light brown shades (found in almost every palette), in addition to the burgundy and dark brown shades, there was also a light grey and a dark grey and a black shade (all in the bottom row), which I thought was different and made this palette pretty convenient (one stop shop)!

Best of all, I’m happy to report that the consistency (like buttah), bendability (like a dream), wear-time (ages) and all around performance (excellent) of the Natasha Denona Eyeshadows were well worth the hype!

Natasha Denona Biba All Neutral Eyeshadow Palette

A multi-use palette with 15 ultimate eye shadow essentials in signature ND formulas. Biba will always have you covered! With multiple textures of the most user-friendly shades ranging from mauves and burgundies to warm grays and black.

15 x 0.08 oz/ 2.5 g Eyeshadows in Rustic (metallic copper), Prairie (matte camel), Coco (matte dark burgundy), Freckle (matte antique nude), Shine (metallic champagne), Pasha (matte red), Monroe (metallic pink champagne), Rayon (matte medium burgundy), Buff (matte antique pink), Tone (matte clay), Seed (matte dark chocolate), Tor (matte dark grey brown), Sculpture (matte light grey), Spot (matte dark black), Tusk (matte light beige)

Too Faced Natural Eyes Neutral Eye Shadow Palette was reduced from KD 13/750 to KD 9/500

Both the Natural Eyes and Natural Matte went on sale and like I said in my Spotted at Sephora post (here), I couldn’t decide between the two.

However, since I’d decided on getting the ND Biba Palette (which was mostly mattes), I figured I’d go with the TF Natural Eyes Palette (matte, pearl, sparkle).

I’m not a fan of all the gold, but it is an improvement over their previous cardboard packaging and I do so love a double panel!

Is it the most unique palette ever? Nah. But it’s still pretty cute!

You’ve got a bunch of sensible neutrals that’ll see you through your 9-5 week, with a gorgeous lace embossed design on the actual shadows and a delightful coconut/vanilla/chocolate scent that adds a touch of whimsy, making it a not so “vanilla” palette!

Too Faced Natural Eyes Neutral Eye Shadow Palette

Flaunt your natural side with the revamp of the iconic Natural Eyes Palette.

The beloved palette has been updated with Too Faced’s exclusive coconut-butter-infused formula for creamier and more comfortable wear.

Achieve endless naturally sexy looks with nine matte, satin, and shimmer shadows in the neutral palette of your dreams.

– 3 x 0.07 oz/ 2 g Eyeshadow in Heaven (matte cream), Silk Teddy (peach champagne), Strip Poker (matte beige)
– 6 x 0.04 oz/ 1 g Eyeshadow in Cashmere Bunny (matte taupe), Sexpresso (matte deep brown), Push-Up (light bronze pearl), Erotica (gilded charcoal), Honey Pot (metallic gold), Chocolate Martini (gilded deep espresso)

Kat Von D Walnut Brow Struck Dimension Powder was reduced from KD 8/500 to KD 3/250

As always, I find the packaging on Kat Von D products very aesthetically appealing!

As such, I was drawn to this thing, but once I swatched it, noticed that it wasn’t matte.

I didn’t understand how that would work as a brow product, but I thought the shade would make a beautiful eyeshadow! So I bought it.

Kat Von D Brow Struck Dimension Powder

A long-wear, waterproof brow powder infused with light-catching 3D pigments for realistic dimension and volume.

Innovative 3D reflective pigments amplify depth and dimension in medium to full brows, while the semi-metallic finish mimics the sheen of real hair.

There are no rules in makeup, especially when it comes to your brows, so feel free to craft and color with complete creative freedom!

Get creative; Brow Struck doubles as a dimensional eyeshadow.

Sol de Janeiro

I could not believe my eyes when I saw the Sol de Janeiro display!

Finally! It had made the jump to Kuwait!

Naturally, I had to snag the award winning cult fave Brazilian Bum Bum Cream (which out of all the things in this haul, I was the most excited for) and grabbed the Perfume Mist that shared the same iconic scent, while I was at it!

Our first crush is the iconic scent that started it all. Like a blend of the best summer you ever had and the best summer you’re about to have. This warm, sunny, beachy scent with notes of pistachio, salted caramel and vanilla conjures the happiest vibes and instant smiles – not to mention serious compliments. An iconic, forever-summer scent.

Our best-loved, iconic Cheirosa 62 scent is at the heart of our award-winning Brazilian Bum Bum Cream.

Sephora Collection

They had added a bunch of new products to the Sephora Collection Skincare display (the one with the Face Masks and Eye Masks and Hand Creams and whatnot).

The suggestive name on one product and the distinctive leaves on the packaging of the other product, clearly showed that Sephora had jumped on the bandwagon (most beauty brands where now all hemp this and CBD that) lol

Out of everything from the Sephora Collection, I only picked up a Dry Shampoo (which is always handy to have) and a Hemp Mousse Mask (because I’ll try anything that promises to minimize pores).

Despite being practical purchases, I kinda’ got them more for the novelty factor because based on the relatively inexpensive price point, I wasn’t expecting miracles lol

Sephora Puff & Go Volumizing Dry Shampoo retails for KD 2

Say goodbye to flat hair days with this SEPHORA COLLECTION volumizing dry shampoo!

– An aerosol-free bottle that releases a mist of powder by simply pressing down
– A generous format: up to 50 uses!

Sephora Hemp Mousse Mask (Anti-Blemish) retails for KD 3/250

A face mask enriched with hemp mousse to minimizes the look of pores and targets the appearance of blemishes for a clear-looking complexion.

Minis (aisle of doom)

Finally, while waiting in line at the check out counter, I snagged these cuties.

Anastasia Mango Mini Setting Spray retails for KD 5/750

They had me at Mango. Also, cute packaging (kinda’ looks like something from an Asian brand)!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dewy Set Setting Spray is now available in a travel-friendly mini size and in two NEW delicious scents!

Choose from the original coconut-vanilla scent, a sweet pineapple scent, or an enticing mango scent.

Mini Dewy Set Setting Spray’s hydrating formula seamlessly blends products together as it sets makeup—leaving the complexion with a dewy (never oily), radiant finish.

This gentle mist helps your skin retain moisture and is ideal for those with dry skin or for anyone who wants to achieve the ultimate dewy glow.

Becca Hydra Mist Set and Refresh Powder retails for KD 7/250

Wow! This stuff was pure magic!

All this time, I didn’t know I was using sub-par powders, up until I tried this little gem!

It felt amazing! In fact, it kinda’ reminded me of those Magically Cool Liquid Powders from MAC (hauled here).

It never looked dry! In fact, despite being a powder, it was actually hydrating!

Unlike most Loose Powders, it wasn’t messy! The container had a mesh thing-y that you could press down on to get the powder out and on top of that was a lid with a removable sticker meaning you had total control lol

Not only is the Becca Hydra Mist Set and Refresh Powder a game changer, but I’d even go as far as saying it’s achieved holy grail status! Love!

An ultra-translucent, refreshing setting powder that dusts on like a hydrating mist.

Formulated with 50% water and glycerin, this powder creates a mist-like sensation on the skin, for a seamless finish and comfortable feel.

Ultra-fine, light-reflecting powders float over skin to smooth and blur fine lines and imperfections.

Water-Infused Powder: to hydrate, sooth and cool the skin
Silica: to absorb oil and blur impections
Glycerin: to help moisturise and maintain skin’s natural moisture levels so that skin never feels tight or dry

Milk Makeup Cooling Water Refreshing Under Eye Stick retails for KD 6/250

While I’d never purchased anything from Milk Makeup before, and kinda’ wanted to take my time checking out their display, I had Mera constantly calling and nagging me, so I just grabbed this lil cutie, for now.

Boscia has one. E.L.F. has one (here). A ton of brands make these little Balms. Heck, at one point, even Bath & Body Works had their own version (here).

Some are meant for the eyes while some are meant for the face. Some could be used everywhere (face and body).

They all happen to be blue (which I find quite cute) and they all have the same “bonus tip” of being popped in the fridge for an extra cooling effect.

Every once in a while, I’ll grab one to play around with and this one from Milk Makeup was my latest.

A cooling under eye (and allover) gel stick that helps reduce the appearance of puffiness with caffeine and soothes with seawater for hydrated, refreshed skin.

As you can see, I spent a total of a whopping KD 138 (around $456 USD) at Sephora

And only got this hideous Benefit Pink Brow Round Bag as a free gift with purchase…

and of course, some more useless Clarins samples, yet again. Seems fair, no?

Oh and when I asked for my Brand Gift (because I’d racked up so many points), they were conveniently “out of stock”.

Still, I’d had such a good time revisiting Sephora (despite Mera’s nagging) and was already planning my next visit lol (without Mera).

Funny enough, before covid, I was kinda’ losing interest in Makeup, but now, my interest was rekindled!

In fact, as soon as I got back home, I placed some online orders with different brands for some more Makeup (to take advantage of whatever deals were left over from Black Friday)!
