Saint Laurent Baby Lou Noir Quilted Grain De Poudre Embossed Leather Shoulder Bag

Also on Nov 27 while still at Saint Laurent, in addition to the Niki Shoulder Bag (hauled here) I couldn’t resist picking up the Baby Lou Shoulder Bag as well.

Apparently, the Baby Lou was the baby version of the Lou Camera Bag, which I thought was stupid cute!

While the Niki Medium Shoulder Bag cost KD 775 but with the 30% off had been reduced to KD 542/50 saving me KD 232/50 (or so it said on the receipt), the Baby Lou was not on sale and cost a whopping KD 225 (possibly because it was new).

Basically, the money I saved on the Niki Medium Shoulder Bag, was immediately spent on the Baby Lou Shoulder Bag lol

Initially, I thought it was too small (but sooo cute) to justify the price…

Product measurements:

Depth 1.2 in
Height 2.8 in
Strap 19.3 in
Width 3.9 in

Product measurements:

Depth 3 cm
Height 7 cm
Strap 49 cm
Width 10 cm

I mean look at the dimensions. This thing was tiny!

The fact that it came with its own Dust Bag was hilarious (just like a real Handbag lol)!

The whole thing came in a cute lil box.

The chain strap wasn’t that long and whenever I wore my Baby Lou as a Crossbody Bag (which was the only way I wore it), it would rest at the lowest part of my ribcage (not even reaching down to my waist lol).

The detachable chain strap was in Gold, as was the rest of the hardware on this baby.

Typically, I can’t stand Gold. However, when coupled with Black, I found the Black + Gold Combo aesthetically appealing (so cool)!

The Baby Lou was available in White, and I believe a Yellow, and a gorgeous Cobalt and of course, my beloved Black.

Naturally, I went with Noir because I figured I’d get the most wear out of it.

I tend to enjoy texture and the Grain De Poudre Leather (the grainy finish) was not only nice to look at and run my hands over, but was apparently more durable than leather with a smoother finish.

This baby could fit my Credit Card, Civil I.D. Card and Driver’s License, as well as a B&BW PocketBac and a MAC Lipstick (x2 if they were minis) and a Victoria’s Secret Lipgloss and an Eyebrow Spoolie and a small Hair Clip and several Hair Ties and Bobby Pins and crumpled up Tissues (for emergencies).

At the veeery top, I’d squish a carefully folded Face Mask in there (because… covid), so it would be the first thing I’d reach whenever I unzipped this thing.

The first time I wore my Baby Lou was on Valentine’s Day 2021 (you can see me wearing it at the bottom of this post, here).

Then I got sick and then Ramadan came along and then we went under the second lockdown.

Literally the day the restaurants opened back up again (but with a national curfew) Abby and Bibi and I, had reservations for lunch at Fauchon Le Gourmet Café at Salhia.

I wore my H&M Orange Midi Dress (with my Baby Lou draped across my chest) while Abby wore a Yellow Midi Dress and Bibi paired her Jeans and Top with a Green Blazer.

I swear we hadn’t planned it (we never do), but it looked like we had actually color coordinated our outfits lol

I think it was because we were sick of being cooped up and wanted to wear something bright and colorful for Spring.

Abby’s niece commented on our pic on snapchat saying “Pretty buuut why do you guys look like Powerpuff Girls” and sent us a side-by-side of the Powerpuff Girls with our pic LOL We got roasted by a 20 year old.

Ever since then (May 2021), I’ve become practically inseparable from my Baby Lou!

I’ll wear it with Jeans and a Top. I’ll wear it with Dresses. Heck, I’ll even wear with it with my Sports Leggings and T-Shirts when I go walking Al-Shaheed Park. I’ve worn it so much at this point that it’s practically payed for itself!

To this day, women will legit stop me, in the street, just to tell me how cute and adorable my tiny little bag looks!

Even the Sales Assistant over at Gucci (we hit up Gucci right after Saint Laurent) wasn’t immune to its charm and couldn’t help but gush over the cuteness!

The Baby Lou Noir Quilted Grain De Poudre Embossed Leather Shoulder Bag doesn’t fit much, but fits all my necessities (well, aside from my phone lol) and pairs well with almost everything (you could dress it up or dress it down) and most important of all, it was ridiculously cute!

I just love this lil thing so much!
