Lush Haul (Nov 2020)

On Nov 26 2020 Mera and I went to Hamra Tower.

We were there because I’d finally tracked down a seller of the elusive pair of Jordan 1’s that I’d had my eye on!

After I tried on a few pairs and figured out the whole sizing thing, I placed an order for the actual pair that I wanted (pics of us here).

Afterwards, we took a quick walk around the mall and popped into Lush for a small haul before heading towards Al Mubarakia to have dinner at Habra (after several failed attempts lol because I’d been dying to eat there again)!

Orange Body Scrub

When it comes to fresh ingredients, we really do put the whole fruit in…even the peel.

This citrusy scrubber is made with naturally brightening sea salt to buff away any dryness and leave your limbs soft and smooth.

Plus it contains plenty of orange juice, uplifting essential oils and orange peel wax to leave you looking and feeling radiant.

This Body Scrub cost a whopping KD 16/750! That’s mainly the reason why I don’t buy stuff from Lush. It’s so overpriced.

To be fair though, the tub was huge and housed 665g of product inside (probably gonna’ take 10 years to finish up). That’s more than the amount you get in x2 Body Scrubs from Bath & Body Works.

Then again, Bath & Body Works stuff goes on sale for anywhere from 50% – 75% at least twice a year, whereas Lush stuff never goes on sale (at least I don’t believe they do).

During the first wave of the pandemic, I ran out of the Lovely Dreamer Body Scrub and was almost out of Cactus Blossom Body Scrub (both hauled here).

I needed a new Body Scrub asap and this thing smelled gorgeous! The scent kinda’ reminded me of Snowy Citrus Swirl actually (hauled here). They even shared the cheerful fun orange color!

Sadly, I really, really dislike oily scrubs (sea salt scrubs, sugar scrubs, etc…) and prefer dry scrubs that wash off completely, without leaving any sort of “hydrating” residue and Orange Body Scrub was another one of those oily ones.

I’ve been using it and will continue to use it mostly because I payed an arm and a leg for it and it does actually smell wonderful, but I don’t think I’d buy it again.

I asked for some samples for myself and for Mera.

For myself, I picked out the Rose Jam Shower Gel and Cup O’Coffee Face and Body Mask and a sample-sized slice of Oudhess Soap.

For Mera, I can’t remember what she picked but I insisted that she sample Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner because it smelled great!

Rose Jam Shower Gel (sample)

This decadent, lemon-rose shower gel is made with vanilla pod infusion, goji berry juice and nourishing argan oil to leave skin soft, hydrated and sweetly scented.

Lovers of our Rose Jam Bubbleroon and Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner will recognize its gorgeous fragrance, so you can double or triple up and never be without this irresistible scent.

I’d purchased Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner earlier and absolutely loved the scent (here)!

That’s why I was pretty excited to try the Rose Jam Shower Gel, because apparently, they’re supposed to share the same gorgeous scent!

You can’t really tell because of the dark sample pot, but the liquid is a bright berry color! It doesn’t lather up as much as say a Bath & Body Works Shower Gel, but it’s not nearly as drying either.

The rose in this, smells distinctly like a typical Arabic Perfume, with I tend to find stuffy.

However, mixed in with the vanilla and lemon and possibly sandalwood (I’m smelling something sexy and musky in there), the end result is something quite lovely!

Cup O’Coffee Face and Body Mask (sample)

If you’re a sucker for the strong, scrubby, stimulating type, this coffee-filled mask is just the thing to kick-start your day.

Wake up and invigorate your skin and mind with the rich, intoxicating aroma of freshly-brewed coffee and sweet roasted cocoa extract.

Kaolin deeply cleanses impurities from the pores and ground coffee acts as a gentle scrub to buff away dryness and reveal glowing skin beneath.

Smooth this one all over your body to feel soft, clean and wonderfully fragrant.

So. Much. Yes.

This legit smells like Coffee! It smells heavenly!

It’s quite abrasive too, so I’m not sure why it’s classified as a Mask rather than a Scrub.

In any case, once I washed it off, it revealed baby soft skin! Witchcraft, I say!

Honestly, I wish I’d purchased Cup O’Coffee instead of the Orange Scrub because this stuff is awesome!

Oudhess Soap (sample)

Dark Woody Sultry

Heavenly scent, jasmine absolute seduces you into lilac and silver waters, while the darkness of oudh and the richness of sandalwood keep you there, lingering a little longer.

Precious ingredients lifting your mind to a higher plane.

This was new to me. I say that as if I’m at Lush every other week lol

It smelled like Oud. That’s it.

Now had it been coupled with some delightful uplifting citrus-y Bergamot or something warm and sweet like Vanilla, or even some fresh and masculine florals like Peony, then I would’ve liked it and appreciated it more.

However, it’s just basic Oud. It’s nice but a bit boring. I can’t even detect the Sandalwood in this thing.

Personally, I love Oud (in almost all forms) but even I found this too basic.

Mera picked up something glittery called Fairy Dust Dusting Powder (I believe it was also scented) for her and her toddler-niece to play around with, whenever her niece came over.

She did offer to pay for her own stuff, but I figured since she drove me there (for my Jordan 1’s) and we were going to dinner at a place that I chose (Habra), I figured I should pay for the both of us, to show her that she was appreciated.
