Demeter Fragrance Library

Demeter was conceived in 1996, with a unique and ever expanding perspective on fragrance. The original mission was to capture the beautiful smells of the garden and nature in wearable form.

The Demeter name itself was inspired by the Greek Goddess of Agriculture. The first three fragrances were Dirt, Grass and Tomato, and were sold in a few stores in NYC.

Today, with fragrances from Baby Powder and Pure Soap to Gin & Tonic, Play-Doh, Vanilla Cake Batter and even Pizza, we have radically expanded our olfactory goals and geographic reach. Not only can you now buy Demeter fragrances from Apple Blossom to Zombie, but you can buy them from New York to Beijing, and from Moscow to London.

I’ve been dying to purchase from Demeter since forever! I mean, it was straight up called a “Fragrance Library” lol They literally had every single scent you could think of! Plus, you could layer the scents and mix and match them to come up with your own bespoke fragrance!

Each scent came in several forms (Candle and Diffuser Oil and Shower Gel and Body Lotion and Massage & Body Oil and Cologne Mini Splash and Cologne Spray and Roll On Perfume Oil) and in a variety of sizes (3.4 oz Cologne Spray and 1 oz Cologne Spray and 1/2 oz Cologne Spray and .17 oz Mini Purse Spray Sampler). Also, each scent had a very, very long description and a back-story and sometimes, even a poem!

I couldn’t decide on what to get… so I went crazy… and purchased x35 different scents (at $3.40 each) making my order total $119. To be fair, I did get them in the sampler size.

I placed my online order on November 12 and my order arrived safely to Kuwait 2 weeks later, but got held up for another 2 weeks, waiting to be “inspected”. That’s why I’m getting it only now.

It was my smallest shipment yet (the box everything arrived in was tiny)!

The x3 boxes to the side had all the mini cologne sprays that I’d purchased, while the box isolated to the left, contained the gifts with purchase; Diffuser Oil in the scent Siberian Pine (with the accompany Diffuser Sticks) and Roll On Perfume Oil in the scent Pomander and oddly enough, a $100 Wine Voucher.

I tried to group the scents but gave up towards the end (Drinks – Gourmands – Herbal – Abstract & Nostalgic – Citrus & Sweet – Random)
