Bath & Body Works had this Buy 3 Get 3 Free deal going on. So, I decided to pick up a few more things and take advantage of that deal.
Supposedly, you could mix and match, but when I added a few Wallflower Fragrance Refills, it wouldn’t let me combine them with Hand Soaps and kept giving me an error message.
When I tried to add 3-wick Candles to the mix, it showed me that I was going to have to pay full price for all the 3-wick Candles and get the much cheaper Wallflower Fragrance Refills for free.
Basically, my best option was to place 2 separate orders; one for Wallflower Fragrance Refills and another for 3-wick Candles.
Man, I wish they’d fix their website already, to where it would be slightly more intuitive.
Wallflower Fragrance Refills retail for KD 2/250 each
Aside from a few experimental ones, I mostly went with sweeter scents.
I picked up x12 Wallflower Fragrance Refills and payed for x6 while the other x6 ended up being free (due to the Buy 3 Get 3 Free promo). The total for this order was KD 11/250 (with free shipping). I placed my order on December 5 and everything arrived safely the next day, except…
Crisp Red Apple, Golden Nectar, Warm Clove Spice
I had ordered Apple Cinnamon Cider and they nonchalantly replaced it with Leaves, just as if I wouldn’t notice.
I wasn’t interested in the scent and I was so sure I hadn’t ordered Leaves…
But I double-checked the invoice (those pages and pages finally came in handy) just to make sure I wasn’t the one that had made the mistake.
I figured I could just pop by the nearest Bath & Body Works with the invoice and get the Wallflower Fragrance Bulb replaced with the one I’d actually ordered. Easy-peasy right? Wrong!
They did not make it easy.
Apparently, if you ordered online, you had to contact their online customer service. It didn’t matter that I was already physically at the store, and that I had the invoice with the date and everything on it with me on hand.
So, even though I was already at the store, I called up customer service. They told me I needed to e-mail them with photos and all the details and that they would get back to me in under 48 hours.
Luckily, I’d placed a different order during the Buy 3 Get 3 Free promo to get my hands on a few more 3-wick Candles and one of them happened to arrive broken. When I informed them about the broken 3-wick Candle, they decided it was too much of a hassle for everyone involved and just told me to go the nearest Bath & Body Works for an exchange.
I informed them that I was already there (at the Souq Sharq branch). They assured me that someone from their side would contact the store and notify them of the situation. Unfortunately, the staff in-store couldn’t do anything without the go-ahead from the online customer service. 20 minutes later, I was finally told that they would exchange my stuff for me.
Unfortunately, they didn’t have Apple Cinnamon Cider in-store. In fact, they didn’t have much of a selection of anything. Eventually, I settled on Cinnamon Spiced Vanilla in exchange for Leaves.
Cinnamon Spiced Vanilla
Fresh Ground Cinnamon, Sugar Crystals, Tahitian Vanilla Bean
Not much of a selection in-store. I figured Cinnamon Spiced Vanilla was my best bet.
Pumpkin Peanut Brittle
Crunchy Caramel Brittle, Salty Peanuts, Toasted Pumpkin Seeds
Inspired the savory nutty note in Toasted Praline & Pear, I was now very curious and just itching to give Pumpkin Peanut Brittle a try! This was definitely part of the Fall Collection.
Red Apple, Fall Pumpkin, Ground Cinnamon
I like the smell of pumpkins and I like the smell of apples. Hopefully, Pumpkin Apple smells as great as it sounds! Also, how cute is the color? Another one from the Fall Collection.
Toasted Marshmallow, Smoldering Woods, Fire Roasted Vanilla
Perfect combo of sweetness and smoky wood notes! Also, I’ve only ever tried Marshmallow Fireside as a Candle before, but never a Wallflower Fragrance Refill. Now was as good a time as any to change that. They re-release this baby every year, in several forms. I wanna’ say this was also part of one of the Fall Collections.
Crushed Candy Canes, Rich Mocha, Whipped Cream
I’m loving all things peppermint at the moment! Now add mocha to the mix and I’m pretty much sold! Peppermint Brownie also had that same knitwear-inspired background as my other candles so imma’ say this was part of the Holiday Collection.
Salted Caramel, Caramelized Sugar, Spiced Rum
I vaguely remember sniffing this baby in-store as a 3-wick Candle and finding it a bit overpowering. However, since Wallflower Fragrances are notoriously weak, I decided to grab one in Salted Caramel in the hopes that it would scent up an entire hallway. Judging by the Christmas Tree on the tab and the knitwear-inspired background, I’m going to say this was also part of the Holiday Collection.
Cinnamon Caramel Swirl
Gooey Caramel, Grated Cinnamon, Vanilla Bean
Another safe buy. Another sweet scent. Another Holiday Collection.
Gala Apple, Juicy Fig, Eucalyptus Leaf
I’ve only ever purchased Autumn once before as a single-wick Candle (here) and it kinda’ got a bit headache-y. However, that was years ago. I wanted to give it another shot. Also, as much as a I hate on the cartoon-y animals depicted on the packaging, this lil hedgehog/porcupine (what’s the difference?) looked kinda’ cute! Going by the name, imma’ say this was part of the Fall Collection.
Cool Eucalyptus, Clean Musk, Oakmoss
Thanks to Eucalyptus Rain 3-wick Candle (here), I’ve come to the realization that eucalyptus doesn’t have to necessarily be synonymous with eye-watering fumes. It can actually be fresh and pleasant! Also, I was honestly pretty curious about the oakmoss note as well. The name 24K Gold wasn’t exactly the most helpful at describing the scent lol Judging by the packaging, I’m thinkin’ Holiday Collection.
Frosted Cake Pop
Buttercream Icing, Warm Vanilla, Juicy Cherries
Even though I was shopping online, I ran out of options (not much of a selection online either but significantly better than the meager selection in-store) so I decided to give Frosted Cake Pop a try. Honestly, I like the way it smelled as a 3-wick Candle in-store, but not enough to commit to it. In this form, it’s less of a commitment. Going by the knitwear-inspired background, deffo’ from the Holiday Collection.
Warm Spices, Creamy Vanilla, Sugared Musk
Again, ran out of options online. Figured I’d go with a foody scent to pop in the kitchen or something. Sugared Snickerdoodle was obnoxious as a 3-wick Candle, but hopefully that’ll serve to enhance the “throw” on this thing as a Wallflower Fragrance Refill. Also from the Holiday Collection, I believe.
Aromatic Sage, Dark Tonka Bean, Rich Sandalwood
Lastly, I snagged Black Tie which popped up online just as I was about to place my order and went out of stock just as fast! I clocked this sucka’ as a 3-wick Candle in-store and found the scent highly intriguing! It smelled like men’s perfume or men’s cologne. I liked it enough to snatch it up as a 3-wick Candle as well (next post)!
Unfortunately, I haven’t gotten a chance to try any of these Wallflower Fragrances just yet because Limoncello (dis) does not want to finish!!!!
