The Autumn Perfumes Exhibition took place at Mishref Fair Grounds (Halls 5,6,7,8) during October 24 and was meant to end on November 6, but was extended to November 9 (because… weekend).
After walking around for a bit, I found a booth (forgot the name) that sold fragrances from several brands including Paco Rabanne (where I purchased the Invictus Gift Set as a birthday gift for my cousin) and Calvin Klein and Jimmy Choo and Marc Jacobs and Carolina Herrera (where I also purchased the Good Girl Gift Set for myself) and Jean Paul Gaultier and more (can’t remember the rest).
Initially, I was more interested in Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal, but sadly they were already sold out and the obnoxious sales assistant kept trying to push the new floral version on me, Scandal Paris. Thankfully, he had to leave the place for whatever reason and a much nicer and more helpful sales assistant took his place.
The accommodating sales assistant stepped aside (so I could see behind him), which is when I clocked Marc Jacobs Decadence Eau de Parfum. He informed me those were the last two pieces and that was that. I was sold!
Marc Jacobs Decadence is a sensual, luxurious, woody fragrance, embodying the spirit of irreverent glamour.
Bit overtly sexual, but s-e-x sells, I suppose. How stunning is she though? I’ve always had a girl-crush on Adriana Lima!
So the box came partially sealed (the middle was already somewhat torn).
It looked like someone had eaten peanuts… directly above the box.
That’s fine though, because the deep green velvet box (or was it felt?) was so beautiful, that I would’ve been way too attached to it and would’ve had trouble getting rid of it otherwise.
Inside the box was another box (so… like a matryoshka doll lol) and the perfume bottle itself.
Inside the box was another box… just kidding
Inside the box was this thing.
Swathed and swaddled in protective plastic and tissue paper…
… was the deep green python print cap, complete with the gold chain and black tassel.
I like the deep green python print… but that’s pretty much it lol
Between the gold chain and the tassels and the shape of the cap, the whole thing had way too much going on for my taste lol It’s a bit… gaudy, but at least it was different.
Magnets secured the cap to the green bottle, so the entire package could be carried by the chain (like an actual handbag, albeit a heavy one), which was kinda’ cute!

I’ve already purchased a sample of this baby and “reviewed” it earlier (here). In that post, I stated that I’ve never smelled anything quite like it before.
Now though, it’s kinda’ putting me in the mindset of Mugler Aura Eau de Parfum which I sampled earlier as well (here) and I’m not just saying that because they’re both green lol
They both had that medicinal quality mixed in with lush green notes topped off with some almost masculine wood notes and ample sweetness. Also, both fragrances are equally polarizing (people either love the scent or hate it, no in-between). In fact, during that “review”, I likened Aura to Decadence Eau So Decadent (also in the Decadence family lol) so basically, I’m saying they’re not twins nor sisters, but second cousins, at the very least.
Unfortunately, I don’t know where I stashed my samples of Aura, so I can’t confirm the fact that if you’ve got one of either Decadence or Aura, you can skip the other. I might amend this post or make a completely new post, when I find the samples.
If you’re planning on purchasing it for yourself, be sure to test it out, giving it plenty of time to dry down before making a decision. It’s quite different and not something that would appeal to everyone and definitely not something that would make a safe gift (unless specified by the recipient).
All in all, Marc Jacobs Decadence Eau de Parfum was a very interesting scent and in my opinion, well worth the purchase!
I’m happy I got the smaller version because this baby had substantial weight to it (the cap alone was super heavy lol)
Also, Decadence was another one of those beast-mode fragrances! You only needed to spritz this twice, because a little bit went a looong way! I mean, I spritzed this baby on at 5am and could still smell it well past midnight!
I’m not quite sure how much Decadence Eau de Parfum (50mL) normally retails for, but during the Autumn Perfume Exhibition it was reduced to KD 15. It was incorrectly listed as a CK fragrance on the receipt though.
Decadence Eau de Parfum came in 30mL and 50mL (as shown) and 100mL.
Decadence Eau de Parfum was released in 2015 (sample purchased here)
Divine Decadence Eau de Parfum was released in 2016
Decadence Eau So Decadent Eau de Toilette was released in 2017 (sample purchased here)
Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find Marc Jacobs Decadence Eau de Parfum locally anymore. I even went to Sephora last night (to see if I could find the original price for this post), but was told they were no longer selling it. Also, Sephora seemed to have significantly shrunk in size, but when I asked, they told me it was because they were renovating the closed-off side for Black Friday (yaaaay)! In fact, they were mid-prepping (frantically, I might add) while customers were roaming around in-store.
If you spot Marc Jacobs Decadence Eau de Parfum, I strongly suggest you try before you buy (it’s not for everyone but I personally love the scent)!
