Bath and Body Works The Big Sale Body Care Haul

Also during The Big Sale, I stocked up on some Shower Gels (top photo) and Body Scrubs (bottom left) and Moisturizers (bottom right) and even a single Fine Fragrance Mist.

These two were from the Tropical Summer Collection (2019)

B&BW knocked it out of the park with this year’s version of their annual Tropical Summer Collection! I snagged some minis for myself and the kids first time around (haulage here) and again a month or so later (haulage here).

As much as I loved Bahamas Pink Passionfruit and Banana Flower in other forms, it smelled gnarly as a Shower Gel (definitely skip), but I was interested in trying several of the other scents from the Tropical Summer Collection as a travel size Shower Gel before splurging on the full size.

Unfortunately, not all the branches had all the minis, which is how I ended up getting and regretting Bali Black Coconut Sands Shower Gel later on (haulage here).

Truth be told, I was willing to purchase the full size of Tahiti Pink Lily & Bamboo after enjoying the travel size version of the Shower Gel (dis) anyway. The fact that these were reduced from KD5/500 to KD 1/500 each was just a lucky coincidence!

I could not find everything I wanted from the Tropical Summer Collection in-store, so I decided to just order everything I wanted from this collection online instead.

These two were also from two separate Summer Collections (2019)

I’m all about aquatic and unisex scents in the shower (typically denoted by blue packaging), especially during the hotter months when gourmands can be a bit… overwhelming. These two seemed perfect for that!

I kinda’ wanted to buy their matching full size Fragrance Mists and possibly Body Lotions but managed to restrain myself.

On The Waves Shower Gel was reduced from KD 5/500 to KD 2
Mediterranean Blue Waters Shower Gel was reduced from KD 5/500 to KD 1/500

These two were from the new-new Fall Collection (2019)

As far as I know, these two were the only two scents available in Body Care, but they had several different scents in Hand Soaps and 3-wick Candles from the same collection. Wild Wonder Collection was so new, it literally popped up during the sale!

These were also reduced from KD 5/500 each to KD 2 each. I was actually surprised that this collection was even included in the sale at all (good job, B&BW)!

These two were from last year’s Fall Collection (2018)

I saw them appear online only a few days before the sale and was itching to give them a sniff. The other scent in this collection that’s not shown was Sweater Weather, which I’m definitely not interested in. That said, even the matching Fragrance Mists came in matching boxy packaging.

These were reduced from KD 5/500 each to just KD 1/500 each.

Tahiti Pink Lily and Bamboo Shower Gel

An exotic bouquet of wild lily petals, bamboo leaf, pink ginger, fresh fig & sauna wood

Get swept away to Tahiti with this lush fragrance that captures the essence of dewy pink lily petals & tropical rainforests.

I enjoyed using the travel-size version of this Shower Gel so much (purchased here), that I decided to get it in the full size! It’s just smelled so fresh and delicate and… clean!

I couldn’t find it in-store though, so I had to order it online.

Havana Tropical Vanilla and Cherimoya Shower Gel

A fresh & floral blend of tropical vanilla, cherimoya fruit, tiare flower, bergamot & ocean driftwood

Inspired by the vibrant coastal city of Havana, this warm, tropical fragrance is full of life.

I’ve purchased the travel-size version of the Fragrance Mist for my niece twice already (here and here).

While I’ve come to associate the Fragrance Mist with my niece, I just can’t get over the “chlorine-quality” of the scent. I have a sneaking suspicion it would make my bathroom smell wonderful during the colder months (when I can only dream of swimming in an outdoor pool).

I actually found this stuff in-store but all of them look dirty and gross, so I decided to order it online instead. As you can see, it arrived in pristine condition (as expected).

On The Waves Shower Gel

A fresh, sparkling, breezy blend of clear blue waters, sparkling mandarin, water lily & ocean driftwood

Shimmering waters. White sands. Warm sunlight. Life is good on the waves.

I must have missed this release. I didn’t even see it online!

However, in-store, they had an entire display solely dedicated to On The Waves, ranging from a Fragrance Mist and a Body Scrub to Body Moisturizers all in the same scent of the same name.

The packaging was what initially attracted me (blue usually means aquatic/unisex scent) but the notes are what hooked me!

On The Waves smelled absolutely delightful and was clearly a Summer release (which I tend to enjoy) so I grabbed the full size Shower Gel. I was tempted to get the full size Fragrance Mist too (hoping for a possible D&G Light Blue family dupe), but restrained myself.

Mediterranean Blue Waters Shower Gel

A clean splash of sparkling passionfruit, Mediterranean fig, coconut water, drenched woods & ocean musk

Sparkling waters & flowers in bloom make for a picture-perfect sunny day in the Mediterranean!

This was from the Mediterranean Market Collection which was another Summer release. It was a pretty big collection that consisted of several scents in several forms ranging from 3-Wick Candles and Body Care all the way down to Hand Soaps and PocketBacs.

I actually purchased a 3-Wick Candle (upcoming post) and Wallflower Refill Bulb (upcoming post) and PocketBacs (haulage here) and several Hand Soaps in different scents (haulage here) and even a Hand Cream (bottom of this post) all from the Mediterranean Market Collection.

This Shower Gel was the only scent that appealed to me from all the other Shower Gels in this collection. Again, it was the packaging that initially attracted me (aquatic and unisex are my “go to” scents for showering) and honestly, I didn’t even bother giving the other Shower Gels from this collection a sniff. I was tempted to get the full size Fragrance Mist in the same scent as well, but again, restrained myself.

Desert Wildflower Shower Gel

Green. Lush. Woodsy. With notes of wildflowers blended with jasmine & creamy sandalwood.

Not my most favorite packaging in the world (blech, florals) but I do like the green liquid (so pretty I almost wanna’ drink it!) and this was from the new-new Fall 2019 release, Wild Wonder Collection.

The collection consisted of several large 3-wick Candles and Hand Soaps in several different scents but only two different scents for Body Care (as far as I know) so I snatched up both Shower Gels from this collection. Surprisingly, they were included in the sale!

Based on the description on the back “Green” and “Lush” and “Woodsy”, I was pretty much sold!

I’m hoping Desert Wildflower will smell nice and clean like Tahiti Pink Lily and Bamboo. I mean, I did give it a sniff in-store, but I’m quickly learning that Shower Gels are a whole other animal (they smell quite different during use, especially the more masculine ones which are horribly musky).

If not, at least I got it on sale!

Cactus Blossom Shower Gel

Bright. Floral. Sweet. With notes of bright cactus petals blended with sun-kissed coconut & vanilla.

Awww How cute is the packaging! I’m not one for florals but I’ve always found succulents to be particularly adorable! Also, the pink liquid makes my heart happy! Nice contrast against the black cap as well.

Cactus Blossom was the other Body Care scent that was a part of the Wild Wonder Collection. My nose was burnt out by then, but according to the notes, between the coconut and vanilla, it sounded great! Also, it was included in the sale!

Autumn Nights Shower Gel

Inspired by Friday Night Lights, Cool Air & Varsity Leather Jackets

Remember those Autumn Nights? Crisp air. The smell of brand new varsity jacket leather. There’s a seat waiting for you under the Friday night lights!

Accidentally grabbed the Fragrance Mist of this thing in-store but thankfully realized my mistake before paying for it.

Not a clue what it smells like (“Crisp Air. Varsity Leather Jacket” lolwut?) but I added it to my online shopping cart anyway.

In-store, I gave it a sniff and it smelled… interesting. I decided I’d come back for it later, which is when I accidentally grabbed the Fragrance Mist. The stupid boxy packaging all looks the same to me lol

This is what I mean by B&BW making up stuff for their fragrance notes. In any case, I liked the name and the packaging (how cute is that little crescent moon and those little stars?) and I liked the color scheme and the notes and scent seemed intriguing ipso facto I had to get it!

Pumpkin Picking Shower Gel

Inspired by Cinnamon-Spiced Cider, Fresh Pumpkin Pie & Hayrides to the Patch

Pumpkin pie and nutmeg-dusted lattes. Warm afternoon sunshine blankets the farm. The hayride wagon is hitched up, so hop on! It’s Pumpkin Picking time again!

This was also in my online shopping cart. I googled it and found out it was actually released during last year’s fall (typical Kuwait).

I gave it a sniff in-store and was instantly smitten! While I may not love the packaging, it was appropriately Autumnal and I do so enjoy a good pumpkin-y scent and figured this would be great during the cooler weather. I mean, they can’t all be “freshies” (aquatic, uplifting, unisex, fresh scents), amirite?

Body Scrubs

Lovely Dreamer Exfoliating White Clay Scrub was reduced from KD 7/250 to KD 2
Cactus Blossom Exfoliating Body Polish was reduced from KD 7/250 to KD 2
Cactus Water Hyaluronic Acid Mineral Body Polish was reduced from KD 7 to KD 2

Some of the Body Scrubs from B&BW are trash, while others are simply divine! I’m not a big fan of their Sugar Scrubs and Salt Scrubs as evident by my Bath and Body Works Empties 2 Post (here). Those things barely did anything!

I am however a huge fan of their Clay Scrubs such as the Jasmine & Green Apple Clay Body Scrub (haulage here) and Sea-Tox Sea Mineral Body Polish (haulage here) because those babies exfoliate my skin absolutely beautifully!

Lovely Dreamer Exfoliating White Clay Scrub

Lovely Dreamer is fluffy clouds floating across an endless blue sky, the idea that anything you dream is possible. It’s a soft, graceful, always optimistic blend of fluffy musk, clean woods, white iris & fresh bergamot.

Get that cloud-soft skin you dream about with Lovely Dreamer Exfoliating White Clay Scrub. Made with natural white clay & rich volcanic minerals, our scrub helps smooth & buff dry, rough areas to whisk away dead surface skin. All that’s left is a silky-smooth body & endless possibilities.

I spotted the Lovely Dreamer Collection last year around December (photos here). The packaging was kinda’ cute but I didn’t find the notes to be the most exciting or intriguing. Then, when B&BW launched their website (dis), I noticed that a Clay Scrub was in fact part of the Lovely Dreamer Collection.

I wasn’t sure if the consistency was the same as the previous two that I’d loved so much, Jasmine & Green Apple Clay Body Scrub (haulage here) and Sea-Tox Sea Mineral Body Polish (haulage here) and I sure as heck wasn’t going to spend KD 7/250 on another Body Scrub that I may or may not use, especially one that was almost already 12 months old.

Once the sale started, I was more inclined to buy the Lovely Dreamer Scrub for only KD 2. Still, I didn’t want to end up with a wasted product (even if it was free), so once I got the chance to go to the nearest brick and mortar store, I tried the Lovely Dreamer Scrub at the sink (with the help of the unhelpful sales assistant who was very stingy with the product and barely dispensed anything onto my hands but thankfully I already knew what to look for).

It was the same consistency as the other two that I’d loved! Sold!

I’ve already used this baby once (because technically it’s the oldest and might expire first) and I’m sooo happy with its performance! Also, the scent while floral is actually nice and delicate and kinda’ reminds me of my beloved Jasmine & Green Apple Clay Body Scrub (haulage here)!

I’m so glad I finally purchased it!

Cactus Blossom Exfoliating Body Polish

Bright Cactus Petals, Sun-kissed Coconut, Vanilla

Natural white clay, rich volcanic minerals, quickly removes dead surface skin, helps smooth & buff dry, rough areas to reveal beautiful skin

This was from the latest Fall release, the Wild Wonder Collection. As far as I know, this was the only Body Scrub in the collection. Again, the packaging (cute succulents and all that purple) and notes (coconut and vanilla) strongly appealed to me.

After the success of the Lovely Dreamer Scrub I asked the unhelpful sales assistant for any other similar Body Scrubs. I kept enunciating “Clay Body Scrub” but she kept cutting me off and handed me the Gingham Whipped Sugar Body Scrub, which was not only not what I asked for, but also one of the few Body Scrubs not included in the sale. It retailed for KD 7/250. Seeing as I was going to get nowhere with her, I thanked her and moved on until I found this baby on my own.

Despite the discrepancies in the name, the back mentioned “clay”. That was all I needed to know. I grabbed the tester and headed towards the sink to try it out, on my own. Same wonderful gritty texture. Sold!

I couldn’t leave well enough alone and went back to the unhelpful sales assistant and showed her the back where it clearly read “clay”, which was what I had been asking for, y’know, just for future reference. My God, if looks could kill. She cut me off again “okokokokok” and went back to chatting with the hot guy at the cash register. Whatever, I was just happy I managed to find this stuff so I could buy it.

Honest to God, these babies exfoliate beautifully! Some of them even smell great too! I have yet to use Cactus Blossom in the shower, so I can’t comment on the scent just yet. I mean, I’ve purchased it as a Shower Gel (top of this post) and Body Scrub (as shown) and Body Lotion (below) so I’m hoping it smells pleasant. If not, its performance is more important and also, it was on sale.

Cactus Water Hyaluronic Acid Mineral Body Polish

Lightly fragranced with notes of dewy cactus, sparkling bergamot & white tea

Infused with purifying sea salt & hyaluronic acid, our rich, oil-based scrub renews & exfoliates dull, thirsty skin to leave it feeling silky smooth.

They added some new additions to last year’s Water Collection (previewed here). Basically, they introduced a whole slew of products in two new scents Rose Water (hard pass, fool me once and all that) and Cactus Water.

I’ve already purchased the original Water Collection Mineral Body Polish when it was first released (haulage here) and enjoyed it so much that I repurchased it towards the end of last year (haulage here).

I’m down to the dregs of the first one that I purchased, but I figured I might as well buy the Cactus Water Mineral Body Polish now since it was on sale. I mean, it was a good deal and I do enjoy this stuff. It’s not as abrasive as what I usually go for, but something about it just works (for me)!

For whatever reason, I find the circular tub with cut-out letters on the packaging quite cute! I loved the blue shade of the previous ones I got, but this seafoam green shade looks very appealing too!

I couldn’t find it in-store though, so I had to purchase it online. It came swathed in cardboard packaging, along with the rest of my 3-wick Candles lol I can’t wait to find out what it actually smells like!

Cactus Blossom Aloe Lotion

Bright. Floral. Sweet. With notes of bright cactus petals blended with sun-kissed coconut & vanilla.

Infused with vitamin E, coconut oil & soothing aloe, our cooling & refreshing aloe lotion leaves your sun-kissed skin instantly moisturized.

This was from the latest Fall release, the Wild Wonder Collection. As far as I know, this was the only Aloe Lotion in the collection.

Man, the last time I saw one of these Aloe Gel Lotions at B&BW was back in 2015 (haulage here)! I loved that thing so much! I even wrote up an entire post about “Summer Moisturizers” that was inspired by it lol (linkage here)!

The packaging looked so pretty! It kinda’ reminded me of the packaging on the French Lavender & Honey Body Scrub several years back from the Provence Collection (haulage here)… only this was prettier!

The previous ones I had, smelled impossibly wonderful, so I’m really, really hoping that Cactus Blossom does not disappoint, because so far, I’ve picked it up as a Shower Gel and Body Scrub and Aloe Lotion. I didn’t bother with giving it a sniff in-store because it was the only scent available, so it was either this or nothing.

Cactus Blossom Aloe Lotion was reduced from KD 6/250 to KD 2

Wild Wonder Collection (Fall 2019)

That’s everything I got from the new-new Fall Collection during the sale. Still can’t believe it was included in the sale but very happy about it (even if my wallet doesn’t agree)!

Bali Black Coconut Sands Body Cream (Travel Size)

An alluring, tropical mix of coconut milk, tonka bean, jasmine, sea salt musk & black sand

Sail away to Bali’s beautiful black sand beaches with this exotic coconut fragrance.

This was from the Tropical Summer 2019 Collection.

I’ll admit, this was an unnecessary purchase (as opposed to the rest of this haul lol) because I’d already purchased the full size Shower Gel (haulage here) and already knew that I did not enjoy the scent.

Sure it was on sale, but it didn’t seem that great of a deal (still over-priced for an itty bitty thing). I mean, I usually stuff these travel size versions in my purse and get a lot of use out of them, on-the-go. However, the main driving force behind this particular purchase was the packaging. I thought the packaging on the Body Cream was absolutely gorgeous!

I had to have it! Since I couldn’t find this baby in-store, I went ahead and ordered it online.

Bali Black Coconut Sands Body Cream (Travel Size) was reduced from KD 2/750 to KD 1

Bahamas Pink Passionfruit and Banana Flower Body Cream (Travel Size)

A tropical cocktail of passionfruit, pineapple leaves, freesia petals, banana flower & amber

Grab a bungalow & bask in this tropical fruit fragrance, inspired by the many varieties of bananas that grow year-round in the Bahamas.

This was from the Tropical Summer 2019 Collection too.

I haven’t finished up the one I purchased previously (haulage here), but I’ve been enjoying the scent so much that I wanted to repurchase it, in case I run out.

You might think that if I loved the scent so much, I could’ve just purchased the full size Body Cream instead, but I’ve mentioned my issues with the packaging on Body Creams several times now (they go bad very quickly).

I couldn’t find anything from the Bahamas Pink Passionfruit and Banana Flower range in-store, so I had to order this baby online as well.

Bahamas Pink Passionfruit and Banana Flower Body Cream (Travel Size) was reduced from KD 2/750 to KD 1

Bahamas Pink Passionfruit and Banana Flower Fine Fragrance Mist

A tropical cocktail of passionfruit, pineapple leaves, freesia petals, banana flower & amber

Grab a bungalow & bask in this tropical fruit fragrance, inspired by the many varieties of bananas that grow year-round in the Bahamas.

This was also from the Tropical Summer 2019 Collection.

I have been living for the travel size Fragrance Mist (haulage here) all Summer!

The spritzer or atomizer on the travel size was cheap and annoying (you had to exert extra force to get it to mist you properly), but unlike the rest of the cheap-y scents from B&BW, something about the way this particular scent reacts with my body chemistry, especially in the heat, has been giving me life!

I’ve been enjoying the scent so much that rather than risk finishing up the travel size version that I had and never seeing this stuff again, I decided to get the full size Fine Fragrance Mist.

I couldn’t find it in-store and the unhelpful sales assistant kept trying to get me to buy the full size of Bali Black Coconut Sands Fragrance Mist “Ma’am, ma’am, it’s the #1 bestseller ma’am!” but instead I just ordered Bahamas Pink Passionfruit and Banana Flower Fine Fragrance Mist online.

Bahamas Pink Passionfruit and Banana Flower Fine Fragrance Mist was reduced from KD 7 to KD 2

Tropical Summer Collection (Summer 2019)

That’s everything I got from the Tropical Summer Collection during the sale. Like I said before, such a great collection (there’s something for everyone) and really worth checking out!

Hand Creams

I actually saw a bunch of these online but completely disregarded them because I thought they’d have that sticky “Vaseline” type of consistency that I do not enjoy. I prefer a lighter, airier, more whipped texture when it comes to Moisturizers… of any kind.

I’ve never actually tried them before, meaning I had clue what they actually felt like on my skin. I was just assuming.

However, in-store, I spotted the one that I had been eyeing online, which was in the scent Sunlit Apple Blossom and had an adorable mermaid’s tail design on the packaging that read 99% Mermaid.

On one hand, I turn 35 years old in December. On the other hand, cuteness! I unscrewed the tester and applied it to me hands. Lo and behold, it had a lovely light cream-y texture, not the greasy vaseline-y texture as I’d feared! The scent was slightly too floral for my taste but there were a bunch of other scents to try!

I played around with those (layering them on top of each other) and ended up with the ones shown above! They were all purchased on the spot, in-store.

Hand Creams were reduced from KD 2/250 each to KD 1 each

In The Stars Hand Cream

Make every moment glow with an addictive fragrance that radiates from start to finish like the stars above. In The Stars is a warm, sparkling blend of starflower, sandalwood musk, sugared tangelo, white agarwood & radiant amber

Add sparkle to any day with our warm & captivating In The Stars Hand Cream! With moisturizing shea butter and vitamin E, this luxurious hand cream absorbs quickly to leave hands feeling soft, nourished & radiant. Its truly unlike anything on earth!

This baby was from the In The Stars Collection (which I previewed back in March).

The entire range smelled simply divine! Although it’s not listed anywhere in the notes, I get a strong whiff of sweet, sweeeeeeet pineapples and I honestly cannot get enough!

I wholeheartedly love my In The Stars 3-Wick Candle (haulage here) and full size In The Stars Shower Gel (haulage here)!

While the rest of the In The Stars range was not included in the sale, the Hand Cream surprisingly was! Naturally, I had to snatch that sucka’ up!

Vanilla Buttercream Hand Cream

Tahitian vanilla, whipped buttercream & powdered sugar

Not a clue which collection this stuff was from but after testing it out, I grabbed x2! I figured they’d be perfect for the upcoming Winter!

What can I say? As much as I complain about them annoying me on occasion, I still do love my gourmands!

Turquoise Waters Hand Cream

A calming blend of bergamot, day lily & sea spray

Based on the packaging, I believe this baby was from the Mediterranean Market Collection (but don’t quote me on that).

I’ve actually purchased Turquoise Waters previously as a Deep Cleansing Hand Soap (haulage here) and more recently as a PocketBac for my niece (here). It’s another one of those “freshy” scents that I enjoy! That said, had it been available in Bergamot Waters, I totally would’ve gone for that instead.

I tried to walk away from it… but I ended up going back for it lol
