It delights me to no end when my worlds collide!
I’d like to preface this by saying that my all-time fave Reality TV Show was, still is and always will be Survivor, only the American Version because all the other versions don’t even come close!
With that being said, it’s no secret that I’m pretty much obsessed with “British Telly”. That obsession was at peak in 2016 (dis) and has continued on until today! One of my all time favorites was Big Brother, but only the U.K. Version because the American Version was just… unwatchable! Love Island was another one of my new-found favorites offerings from “British Telly” (dis), but again, only the U.K. Version because the American Version is nowhere near the same! Sadly, Big Brother was discontinued (dis) which pushed Love Island in the lead as my new favorite UK-based reality TV Show! That stuff is so addictive, it’s basically crack!
Rachel Johnson who was one of the female contestants on Celebrity Big Brother UK – Season 21 and my favorite (dis), but sadly she was the second contestant to get evicted from the Big Brother House (dis). During her stay, the other housemates would constantly ask Rachel Johnson about her brother, Boris Johnson. That’s when I first learned of Boris Johnson and so when he was elected Leader of the Conservative Party and appointed as the Prime Minister of the U.K. this year, I felt like I was actually interested and somewhat more invested in the news (as if I somehow personally had a stake in all this lol well, technically we all do, it’s our world, but you know what I mean… maybe?) and it’s all thanks to Big Brother UK lol
This was the busiest summer of my life (by far) and the latest season of Love Island almost (not quite but almost) slipped by me, unnoticed! I only found out, around the last few episodes of the season, but managed to binge-watch the whole thing and thankfully got all caught up in time. One of the contestants was Tommy Fury, the younger brother of the famous professional boxer Tyson Fury. Previous to this season of Love Island, none of those names meant anything to me. However, I listen to Joe Rogan’s Podcast (dis) pretty much religiously and right around the time this season of Love Island ended, Joe kept mentioning Tyson Fury and once again, I was actually interested and more invested in what was being said, because now, I kinda’ knew a little bit about Tyson Fury, thanks to Love Island!
Like I said, it delights me when my “worlds” collide! It’s kinda’ like that one time, few years back, when I was watching a Korean Drama and outta’ nowhere, I notice Conan O’Brien on the the Korean Drama… as a talking fish! It. Blew. My. Mind.
However, on the finale season of Orange Is The New Black, when Fig was watching Love Island (the British Version, mind you), it occurred to me that all these coincidences were getting to be a bit too strange lol
