On our way back from The Avenues (dis) I stopped by LuLu Hypermarket (no relation lol) for some snackage. Everything I got was pretty much new to me.
Nivea Fresh Comfort Deodorant (150mL) retails for KD 1/075
I love this scent! I’ve already purchased it multiple times now (dis). However, I’ve only ever purchased it as a Roll-On and never as a Spray. Naturally, I had to snatch this up!
Pringles Paprika (200g) retail for KD /760
Not quite sure what’s going on with the graphics (I’m pretty sure William Tell did his thing with an apple), but whatevs. As someone who enjoys adding Paprika to everything, I had to give this thing a try. Also, I’m a Sagittarius. That said, this stuff was just okay.
Walkers
It said 6 pack on the packaging and I read it… but somehow was still expecting a single large bag lol
Walkers Mega Monster Munch Pickled Onion (6 x 22g) retails for KD 1/590
The graphics were hideous, but based on the shape of these things, I thought they’d taste similar to Fico Dracula (dis). I thought for sure the flavor was Pizza and only realized it was actually Pickled Onion once I started taking pics for this post lol
Honestly? Pickled Onion sounded horrible! To make matters worse, there were 6 bags (albeit tiny ones) of the stuff, as opposed to 1 large bag as I’d initially thought. I was all set to be disappointed, as I opened one up. The smell alone was… eye-watering lol
However, the taste was everything! It tasted like Salt & Vinegar x 1,000! The texture was nice and crunchy too, but unlike Fico Dracula, this stuff was not rock-hard! All in all, I was pleasantly surprised by good this stuff tasted!
Walkers Salt & Vinegar (6 x 22g) retails for KD 1/790
Yes.
This stuff came in 6 smaller bags inside the large pack as well, but it tasted so very different from all the other Salt & Vinegar offerings in the Middle East and North African region (MENA)! It tasted like the stuff I grew up on! Obviously, we stan!
Mackies Prawn Cocktail Potato Crisps (150g) retails for KD /550
Not unlike the previous version from Marks&Spencer (dis), this stuff both smelled and tasted awful. The texture was nice though, but not nice enough to make up for everything else.
I vaguely remember picking up Takis, and a ton of Slime (from Al-Shanakel in Sharq) and a bunch of other junk, and stuffing them in Goody Bags to hand out at my niece’s birthday party last year. I never did try Takis though. Several months later, all three kids were still just as obsessed with the stuff. So I decided to get one for each of us…
x4 Takis Fuego Hot Chili Pepper and Lime Tortilla Chips (113.4g) retails for KD 1/310 each
Yeah, so here’s the thing. Takis actually cost KD 1/300 each! It’s a bit too much lol
The other two polished off theirs, while the eldest struggled with hers and ended up saving the rest of it for another day. Curiosity piqued, I opened up my bag of Takis and instantly felt my mouth pucker up! This stuff was insanely sour and spicy and just… perfect! Fuego, indeed! No wonder the kids were so obsessed with this stuff!
Takis Guacamole Tortilla Chips (113g) retails for KD 1/330
I also spotted Takis in the Guac flavor, but although nice, it was nowhere near as mindblowing as the Hot Chili Pepper and Lime flavor!
x2 Kinder Bueno White Chocolate Bars (39g) retail for KD /195 each
The elder two picked these out for themselves.
x6 KitKat Raspberry Blast (20g) retail for KD /120 each
Meanwhile, I hoarded this stuff for everyone at home. They just looked so stinkin’ cute!
Sadly, they smelled so boozy (ugh) and tasted like cherry-flavored cough medicine.
So, so, so bad!
I ended up spending KD 13/445 which I feel like wasn’t that bad… kinda’.
