I was running
low out of my Personal Care favorites and had to replenish my stock. By now, regular readers will know that my “go to” was Sultan Center (Souq Sharq). While there, I snatched up some random snackage, which turned out to be yummy! Unfortunately, I seem to have lost the receipt (meaning no prices will be listed).
Walkers Pure Butter Shortbread Triangles (15pc)
Wedges of Pure Butter Shortbread with a light dusting of sugar.
Baked in the Scottish Highlands from just 4 wholesome ingredients: Butter, Sugar, Flour, Salt.
After the unpleasantness of the Chips Ahoy! Brownie Filled Cookies (dis), I was craving something more… plain (think along the lines of Mariebon). While browsing the Biscuits & Cookies Aisle, I clocked the Tartan packaging out of the corner of my eye, and was instantly drawn to this stuff!
Walkers (no relation to Walker’s lol) had a variety of biscuits in all kinds of flavors. I went with the Pure Butter Shortbread, because they seemed like the most plain (no choco-chips, no ginger, no raisins, no nothing). Also, they were shaped like Triangles, which was kinda’ cute, and on the more practical side, optimal for dunking in Coffee/Tea.
Back home, I couldn’t stop myself from eating the entire thing… in a single sitting! I only wanted to try one, but before I knew it, the whole thing was gone! They were just that good!
They were not crumble-y (they didn’t fall apart in your hand). They were not overly sweet (they did taste sweet, but it was more of a buttery sweetness). Best of all, was the way they just melted in your mouth! Basically, they were perfect!
Maple Joe Pure Organic Maple Syrup
I don’t like Pancake Syrup on my Pancakes. I don’t like Honey on my Pancakes. I don’t like Chocolate Syrup on my Pancakes. I like my Pancakes plain (no choco-chips, no fruit, no nothing) and
drizzled doused in Maple Syrup.
For whatever reason, that seems to be asking for too much. I can never find Maple Syrup at any of the local co-ops! It literally takes a full-on search, to find this stuff! Thankfully, I can find Maple Syrup at certain branches of Sultan Center.
I’ve never tried this particular brand before, but since Canada produces 95% of the World’s Maple Syrup, I figured I couldn’t go wrong with something that says “Product of Canada”. Plus, the glass jar with the lil handle looked kitschy-cute lol
Jolly Time The Big Cheez Ultimate Cheddar Popcorn
This was the flavor I kept referencing in my previous Popcorn posts. Nobody in our entire household likes this stuff, apart from me. Even my friends don’t like it. Sure, it stinks up not only the microwave, but the whole kitchen, when you pop it in the microwave. Sure, it stains your fingers and nails a hideous dark orange that refuses to wash off with regular Soap (Bath&Body Works Deep Cleansing Hand Soaps take care of that in a jiffy). Sure, your throat is parched for the next few hours after indulging. However… worth it!
Pro Tip: Use Chopsticks to eat finger-staining Popcorn. It’ll help you avoid getting them stained and as a bonus, it’ll up your Chopstick Game!
Doritos Meatlovers Pizza Crackers
I came across a huge display of Doritos Crackers in about 3-4 different flavors. There was plenty of each of the different flavors, except the Meatlovers Pizza which just had the one. I figured since there was only one left, it must taste pretty good. So, I grabbed the very last one to share with the kids. As expected, it tasted pretty yummy!
Nivea Lemongrass & Oil Soap
What can I say about the Lemongrass & Oil Bar Soap that hasn’t already been said? It smells ah-mazing, it does the job and it’s affordable! That’s why it’s been a constant repurchase (dis)! Love!
Nivea Fresh & Cool Shaving Foam (For Men)
Personally, I prefer using Shaving Foam as opposed to Shaving Cream or Shaving Gel or whatever else. My all time fave, is this specific one, which is marketed towards Men, because it smells great and has a slight cooling effect to boot! I’ve even written up an entire post, years ago, solely dedicated to this stuff (dis)! It used to be called Cool Kick, but has since been renamed to Fresh & Cool (dis and dis). Love!
Gillette Blue II Disposable Razors
I love the Men’s Razors from Gillette so much, that I’ve actually written up an entire post, years ago, solely dedicated to them (dis)! Long story short, as opposed to the disposable razors targeted towards Women, I find that the ones for Men give a much closer shave. I will stray, from time to time (get something different from either the Men’s or Women’s range, from other brands), but when I’m not going for a wax, my “go to” is usually Gillette Blue II Plus.
Colgate Slim Soft Charcoal Toothbrush
Finally, out of all the different variations from the Colgate Charcoal range (dis), the “Soft and Slim” were definitely my fave, because it almost felt like simultaneously brushing your teeth and flossing, at the same time! I’ll replace the one I use every couple of months, but whenever I open up a new one and start using it, I make it a point to go out and get a back-up.
