Sephora Brand Gift (Tarte)

Despite my previous Sephora Haulage (here), I only qualified for the Brand Gift after I had purchased the Too Faced Chocolate Bar (KD 21/000) as a Birthday Gift for someone. The Brand Gift I received this time was the Tarte Pamper Me Pretty Color Collection which I’d spotted much earlier at Sephora (here).

Tarte Pamper Me Pretty Color Collection:
– Amazonian Clay Sparkler 12-Hour Highlighter
– Tarte Tarteist Get It! Lip Paint
– Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara

The Lip Paint in the shade Get It! (described as an Apricot Nude) was a nice and wearable everyday shade. The Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Highlight in the shade Sparkler (described as a Rose Gold) although pretty, was a tad too chunky and consequentially problematic to apply. The Lash Paint Mascara was quite lovely and gave me no trouble, as opposed to the other two shades which were a smidge too dark for my complexion. That said, I can totally imagine them looking infinitely nicer on anyone even slightly darker!

I’m trying to be nice here, but I’m starting to suspect that they just grab the worst-performing products or the ones that don’t sell too well, lumping them together and foisting them on us as a “Brand Gift“, at least in this area of the world. In any case, you can always work your way around the issue, whatever it may be (for example, Lip Paint too light? Line your lips with a slightly darker Lipliner. Highlight too dark or glittery? Use it as an Eyeshadow instead. And so on), but I just don’t feel like exerting any extra effort, at least not all the time.

On a completely unrelated note, I haven’t gone back to Sephora since.
