L’Occitane Haulage

I was looking for a gift for a friend who’d just found out she was preggers and usually L’Occitane has what I’m looking for, but this time, the products I had in mind were only available in a travel-size set (and were consequentially much cheaper), so I ended up getting her something else, from somewhere else. However, I did end up hauling some more of that divine Verbena goodness for myself to use during the upcoming Summer!

Longtime readers of my blog, already know that I stan the L’Occitane Verbena range hard! And to think… it all started when I raided the bathroom amenities at a certain hotel abroad (reviewed here) lol Like I said, the scent was fresh, crisp, citrus-y, uplifting and most definitely unisex! As such, I’ve been a big, big fan of the line ever since! They had other Larger Gift Sets and Smaller Gift Sets and even Travel-Size Gift Sets and everything in-between, but the ones shown (pic, above) were the ones that appealed to me the most.

Classic Verbena Trio reduced from KD 35 to KD 25/500

Classic Verbena Trio includes:
– Verbena Eau de Toilette
– Verbena Icy Shower Gel
– Verbena Icy Body Gel
– Verbena New Summer Travel Tote

This particular Gift Set caught my eye because everything was Verbena this and Verbena that. Even the Tote Bag had Verbena Leaves in different shades of Green (which kinda’ reminded me of the Green Elephant Crossybody Bag that my brother brought back for me as a souvenir from Sri Lanka, here), but this one was a bright vivid Green on the inside and had Silver hardware, which I thought was also pretty cool! Best of all, the price had been knocked down from KD 35 to just KD 25/500!

– Verbena Eau de Toilette (100mL)
– Verbena Icy Shower Gel (250mL)
– Verbena Icy Body Gel (150mL)

The Tote Bag came with these 3 products inside, all full sized! The icing on the cake was the fact that the products were described as “Icy“, meaning they were definitely going to have some sorta’ cooling effect (which I always love)!

Verbena Eau de Toilette (100mL)

I’ve actually purchased the Verbena Eau de Toilette before (here), except it was a Travel-Size Rollerball (the ball kept sticking in place) so I’m super happy with the actual Eau de Toilette because I can just spritz it on without any hassle! Plus, it came in a glass bottle (cute lil leaf embossed on the side) with substantial weight (it don’t feel cheap). I’ve mentioned this before, but I really adore the no-frills, utilitarian aesthetic of L’Occitane!

If you like Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Eau de Toilette (reviewed here), be sure to give L’Occitane Verbena Eau de Toilette a sniff, because they’re in the same “uplifting scent” family!

Verbena Icy Shower Gel (250mL)

I’ve only ever tried the regular Verbena Shower Gel (here and here) but never this “Icy” version, which apparently contains some form of menthol! Also, how pretty is the vivid Green and how adorbs is that little leaf! It looks good, smells good and supposedly feels good! Super excited to try this baby during the Summer!

Verbena Icy Body Gel (150mL)

Also only ever tried the regular Verbena Body Lotion (here and here) but never this “Icy” version, which also contains some for of menthol! Not a fan of the tub packaging (I prefer to pump my moisturizers into my palm and then slathering them all over my body, as opposed to scooping some out and then contaminating the whole thing with air and also having to screw the cap back on, one-handed, bit of a hassle really), but the packaging is quite cute nonetheless! Even the product itself looks so appropriately Summer-y!

Verbena Festive Star (My Fresh Essentials) (Travel Size) (Limited Edition) retails for KD 5

My Fresh Essentials includes:
– Verbena Body Lotion
– Verbena Cooling Hand Cream Gel
– Verbena Leaf Soap
– Limited Edition L’Occitane x Castelbajac Star Tin Box

As soon as I spotted this baby at the check-out counter, I asked the sales assistant how much it cost. When she told me it only cost KD 5, I just had to get it!

For starters, it had the whole wonky quirky take on the celestial theme (Castelbajac collab) which I recognized from the window display they had up (photos, here) about a month or so prior. I liked the message behind that collab and also, good karma! Second of all, the Star-Shaped Tin was kinda’ cute and could totally be re-purposed for something else (I have a lot of lil knick-knacks that I’m always losing track of and apparently I have a thing for storage tins/boxes/containers/etc… so, wins all around)! Clearly, it was meant to be a Christmas Tree Ornament (hence Limited Edition Holiday Collection) or something equally Christmas-y (Secret Santa Gift, Stocking Stuff, etc…), but this was about a month or so after Christmas.

The star opens to reveal 3 energizing Verbena surprises. Verbena Soap to gently cleanse and exfoliate followed by the Verbena Hand Cream and Body Lotion to nourish and protect the skin, leaving behind a bright invigorating scent.

Inside the Star-Shaped Tin were 3 products, all travel sized (portable and cute)! They were other Castelbajac Travel-Size Gift Sets but I chose this one in particular because all 3 were from my beloved Verbena line; Verbena Body Lotion and Verbena Cooling Hand Cream Gel and Verbena Leaf Soap (with crushed Verbena Leaves)!

Verbena Body Lotion (1fl.oz/30mL)

Exactly the same as the one I first looted from the hotel (here) and then later, purchased (here). Ideal for layering (with my more “zesty” fragrances) and just all around nice and portable!

Verbena Cooling Hand Cream Gel (0.3oz/10mL)

Yet another “cooling” product from the Verbena line! The packaging sorta’ reminds me of the Hemp Hand Cream from The Body Shop (haulage here), no? I don’t really see the purpose of a cooling hand cream, especially since my hands and feet are always freezing lol but sure, why not? It’ll be interesting to play around with, at the very least.

Verbena Leaf Soap (0.8oz/25g)

Exactly the same as the one I first looted from the hotel (here) and then later, purchased (here). Ridiculously cuuute!

UNICEF Solidarity Shea Milk Soap Duo (1.7oz/50g each) retails for KD 4/500 as a Duo (but just KD 2/250 each)

I’m not a huge fan of the Shea Milk range or the creepy packaging but I figured since these were for charity, I might as well pick up a Duo.

Here’s a shot of the stuff all together, so you can see how big or small they are in comparison to each other.

x6 Aqua Reotier Ultra Thirst-Quenching Gel
x5 Immortelle Divine Cream
x8 Reine Blanche Whitening Cream
x3 Shea Butter Ultra Rich Body Cream
x3 Almond Shower Oil
x3 Almond Milk Concentrate

The sales assistant was nice enough to replenish my stock of L’Occitane Samples too! As you can see, she was pretty generous with the Samples!

Instead of spending KD 44/500 I ended up spending KD 35 for everything. As always, I had an extremely pleasant experience at L’Occitane from start to finish!
