Spotted at Sephora (January)

KILIAN created MY KIND OF LOVE, an entire new fragrance collection for young lovers: five scents inspired by moments of seduction without inhibitions, audacious declarations of love and the will to love freely.

I was pretty much stalking Sephora ever since I discovered Black Phantom (Memento Mori) by Kilian, which was how I stumbled on them setting up the display for the new Kilian Perfumes! They had cute packaging and absurdly long names, but were considerably less expensive than Kilian Perfumes from previous collections. Sadly, as you can see, not all 5 made it to our little Kuwait, but hey, 3 is better than none, amirite or amirite?

I also spotted the “gender neutral” Fragrance brand called Commo̲dity (pics below) and last but certainly not least, they’ve finally started selling Farsáli at our local Sephora!

Expect the unexpected at all points of the game, as even the bottle is more than meets the eye.

A little bomb of seduction inspired by contemporary art, it is both a mini sculpture and a bold declaration.

Grab its weighted sphere on top, turn tradition upside down, and remove the bottom square pedestal for spritzing instant sex appeal. On the black bottle’s pedestal, each playful phrase is put on graphic exhibition in glossy lipstick red and gold.

Available in 30 ml, 50 ml or 100 ml—its irresistible silhouette invites you to stroke it.

I Don’t Need A Prince By My Side To Be A Princess

“I wanted to amp up the girl power with a unique scent calling out all fierce females. Gourmand with a kick, PRINCESS is like sipping on a green tea mocha with a tip of ginger on the nose for sassy spice.” – Kilian Hennessy

Prince Charming, take note—this Princess ain’t waiting at home for your comeback call.

Notes: Ginger, Green Tea, Marshmallow

Bad Boys Are No Good But Good Boys Are No Fun

“I wanted to invite you to take a walk on the wild side with a scent made for misbehaving. BOYS is a very sexy and very fresh scent thanks to the instantly recognizable cola accord made of nutmeg, cinnamon and lime.” – Kilian Hennessy

Bad boys are our guilty pleasure but, honestly, what would your Saturday night be without them?

Notes: Cola, Cinnamon, Cedarwood

Yes I Was Madly In Love, But That Was Yesterday

“I wanted to express the almost insane sensuality and sweetness of first love. MADLY IN LOVE starts with red raspberry, sweet to the senses like summertime love. Then a heart of blond tabacco and a black leather base make it very smoky and infinitely more complex.” – Kilian Hennessy

Long-lasting love has a very short memory. Who doesn’t need a daily raspberry kiss, to fall madly in love again?

Notes: Raspberry, Tabac Blond, Black Leather

1.7 fl.oz/50mL bottles retail for KD 37
3.4 fl.oz/100mL bottles retail for KD 50

We seem to be missing 2 Perfumes from the My Kind of Love Collection:

Kissing Burns 6.4 Calories An Hour. Wanna Work Out? Eau de Parfum
– Let’s Settle This Argument Like Adults, In The Bedroom, Naked Eau de Parfum

Like I said, I also spotted the brand Commodity! So exciting! Despite the fact that some of their scents lean more feminine while others lean more masculine, they’re all meant to be unisex. I’m kinda’ bummed that we didn’t get Book, but here’s hoping they bring it over to Kuwait… eventually. So far, I’ve only spotted these 3 and all of them happen to be from the White Collection.

Mimosa (White Collection)
Top Notes: Blood Orange, Mandarin, Grapefruit
Middle Notes: Black Pepper, Jasmine, Geranium
Base Notes: Tonka Bean, Ylang-Ylang, Heliotrope

Tea (White Collection)
Top Notes: Citrus Accord, Sicilian Lemon, Bergamot
Middle Notes: Freesia, Muguet, Jasmine Sambac
Base Notes are Sandalwood and White Musk

Gold (White Collection)
Top Notes: Bergamot, Juniper Berries, Camphor
Middle Notes: Amber, Haitian Vetiver, Benzoin
Base Notes: Sandalwood, Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Nubian Musk

These retail for KD 32 a pop.

Farsali finally made it to our local Sephora! Previously, I had to purchase this stuff from Debenhams (here and here) which thanks to the sales assistants was a total nightmare! Thankfully, I can just repurchase this stuff from Sephora now (where they retail for KD 20/750 each).

Farsali Rose Gold Elixir (white)

Hope you enjoyed this post! ^_~

  1. Hi Sonia! I’ve only ever used the Unicorn Essence (and LOVED it!) so I can’t really say much about the Rose Gold Skin Mist, but the ingredients and reviews look promising. I’d suggest finding a tester and spraying it on while wearing foundation before actually purchasing it. Maybe test it out a couple of times (like weeks apart) too.

Initially, I fall in love with stuff all the time, but after the second or third use, that’s when the “issues” start, but by that same token, I hate stuff at first, but after the second or third use, I start liking them. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help!
