The only reason I placed this order, was because I noticed that Nordstrom was selling Maison Lancôme Ôud Bouquet Eau de Parfum… in a travel size version!!!! I’d been obsessed with Oud Bouquet for quite some time now (spotted here and later here) so finding a smaller and consequentially cheaper version, online, was kismet! Sadly, it kept going out of stock, almost as soon as it’d appeared online. So, I patiently bided my time and waited for it to come back in stock.
That said, my previous Skincare Haul from Nordstrom (haulage here) had included several chemical exfoliators and as such, meant I needed to invest in some decent Sun Protection (mainly the blue Shiseido one, which I’d been eyeing for a minute now). So, I figured I’d purchase some Sunscreen/Sun Block/Sun Protection (while the weather allowed and was still cool, enough not to damage or alter the contents being shipped) and snatch up the ever elusive travel-size Lancôme Ôud Bouquet Eau de Parfum while I was at it!
Again, several of the brands had really cool Gifts With Purchase! Not to mention the Winter Beauty Bundle (20pc deluxe samples) with every $125 spent on Skincare! Once Oud Bouquet popped back up, I placed my order immediately (literally 5 days after my previous order with Nordstrom), making sure that I qualified for most of the Gifts With Purchase (as you can see in the photo below).
Basically, Oud Bouquet was the main reason I’d placed this order, but sadly it went out of stock again and was canceled from my order. On the bright side, at least they still sent over the Lancome Gift With Purchase, which was nice! Plus, the fact that I only purchased 5 items (1 Mascara + 4 different types of Sunscreen) and managed to accumulate a whole bunch of other stuff, along with them, was pretty suh-weet! The subtotal was $169 (around KD 50) but with $15 (KD 4/500) for tax, ended up being $184 (around KD 55).
– Lancome Oscillation Mascara retails for KD 11/950 ($36.50 )
– Lancome Gift With Purchase: (receive deluxe samples of Bi-Facil Face Bi-Phased Micellar Water (1.7 oz.) and Crème Mousse Comfort Creamy Foaming Cleanser (1.7 oz.) and Bienfait Multi-Vital SPF 30 Sunscreen Cream (0.5 oz.) and Génifique Eye Cream (0.2 oz.) with your $49.50 Lancôme purchase. Online only.*)
Like I said, the main reason I placed this order was for the travel-size Maison Lancôme Ôud Bouquet Eau de Parfum which coupled with the Lancome Oscillation Mascara qualified me for the Lancome Gift With Purchase. Sadly, despite being available at the time of my order, the Perfume went out of stock and was therefore canceled from my order. They still sent over the Lancome Gift With Purchase though (even though I no longer qualified for it without the Perfume). So, that was nice!
Plus, I just love the Lancome Oscillation Mascara! I’ve actually reviewed it ages ago (here) and repurchased it more recently in my previous Nordstrom Skincare Haul (here), which is why I won’t go into too much detail over it. Rather than waiting for mine to finish up, and then having to re-order it during Kuwait’s unforgiving summers (and risk it possibly drying out, or at the very least, getting its life-span considerably shortened, due to the heat), I decided to snatch a back-up, while the weather still allowed.
As for the deluxe samples (Lancome Gift With Purchase), aside from the Bi-Facil, I’m pretty excited to try them out! For starters, I’m loving the Genifique range (based on an itty-bitty sample that was part of a Set that I purchased here) so I’m happy I got an Eye Cream from the same collection! It’s funny that a Sunscreen Cream was also included (I’m totally gonna’ take it as a sign that I’m not crazy for purchasing x4 Sun Protection products… in one go)! Lastly, the Creme Mousse Comfort Creamy Foaming Cleanser (took me 3 tries to get that right) just sounds lovely!

“A lightweight SPF 50+ sunscreen in a clear formula that becomes more effective when exposed to water. This powerful sun protection features WetForce technology, which provides the skin with a protective veil that becomes stronger as it comes into contact with water or perspiration. Ideal for outdoor activities and sports, it provides high sun protection yet is comfortable and gentle on the skin. It protects the skin against UV rays and is water-resistant for up to 80 minutes. To activate WetForce technology, expose the applied area to water or perspiration for 30 minutes.”
Shiseido Urban Environment Oil-Free UV Protector Broad Spectrum SPF 42 retails for around KD 11 ($35.00)
“Ideal for everyday protection, this ultra-light, oil-free sun protection lotion for the face controls excess sebum and gives skin a matte appearance while guarding against daily environmental aggressors. It promotes the natural beauty of skin by protecting against the three major causes of cell damage—UV rays, oxidation and over-production of sebum—for beautiful, healthy-looking skin. Water-resistant for up to 40 minutes, this lotion contains paeonia albiflora root extract to help reduce the look of visible pores and scutellaria baicalensis extract to promote the appearance of youthful-looking skin.”
Like I said earlier (here), I’ve been on the hunt for some decent Sun Protection stuff, for a minute now, and I’ve had my eye on Shiseido, specifically. I picked up these two; one for the body (legit activated by sweat and water. I mean… gross, but also, handy, for summahtime fun at the beach/pool and so on lol) and one for the face (because after using all those chemical exfoliators, mah face would be more susceptible to sun damage… and stuff). I don’t know about you but the description (for the Blue one) and the reviews (for the White one) totally won me over! I wanted something lightweight but powerful and these two seemed to be just that!
As luck would have it, Shiseido also happened to have a Gift With Purchase for every $75 spent, which was exactly the total both those Sun Protectors (sun protectori? juuust kidding!) amounted to! The Gift With Purchase included the Treatment Softener and another Clarifying Cleansing Foam (which coupled with the Lancome Creme Mousse Comfort Creamy Foaming Cleanser makes two deluxe samples of cleansers) and something anti-age-y (it’s a word ‘cuz I said so) in a mysterious and adorable tiny little pot!
“Inspired by the bathing ritual of the Japanese, Treatment Softener contains pure Kirishima mineral spring water from Japan to help support skin’s ionic balance and to balance skin and support better absorption of treatment products that follow. It features the comforting scent of ImuCalm Compound that contains soothing fragrance ingredients of rose and lotus elements and a green floral fragrance that evokes a sense of relaxation and new energy”
lolwut? ok, well that just sounds insanely cool to me! Basically, I’m really feelin’ the samples too!
– Clinique Mineral Sunscreen Fluid for Face Broad Spectrum SPF 50 retails for around KD 9 ($28.50)
– Clinique Gift With Purchase (receive a Cosmetics Bag and deluxe samples of Rinse-Off Eye Makeup Solvent (2 oz.) and Liquid Facial Soap Mild (1 oz.) and Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ (1 oz.) and High Impact Mascara in Black (0.14 oz.) and Pop Lip Color & Primer in Cherry Pop with your $28 Clinique purchase. Clinique Mineral Sunscreen Fluid for Face Broad Spectrum SPF 50 retails for around KD 9 ($28.50)
Ultra-lightweight, this mineral sunscreen by Clinique is incredibly comfortable, even for those with sensitive skin, and is gentle enough for use around the eyes. It’s formulated with Invisible Shield Technology, which forms a protective veil that’s virtually invisible on all skin tones.
Clinique has always been synonymous with Skincare… at least in my mind, so, it was only natural that I turn to Clinique for Sun Protection stuff. This thing had SPF 50 which seems to be the universally agreed upon “magic number”. Also, someone in the reviews said “it wasn’t greasy”, which was what actually convinced me. Lastly, for such a small and relatively inexpensive thing, it came with a whole bunch of stuff! The Cosmetics Bag looks so kitschy lol which is not my thing, but it’s kinda’ cute, I guess. I don’t care much for their Rinse-Off Eye Makeup Solvent (doesn’t remove my mascara, yo!), but I’m down for trying the Liquid Facial Soap (I think I’ve actually purchased it before, at some point) and the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ (definitely purchased it before) and the High Impact Mascara (I wanna’ say I used to buy this stuff off of Drugstore.com/Beauty.com way back when), but the Pop Lip Color & Primer definitely looks like it has some shine to it (no bueno). Still, it’s the Sun Protection stuff that matters, and the rest is all a bonus, and I’m just grateful I got them (to play with)!
Kiehl’s Activated Sun Protector™ Water-Light Lotion for Face & Body Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 retails for KD 9 ($29)
This cooling and refreshing weightless sunscreen lotion for your face and body by Kiehl’s features UVA/UVB protection with patented Sun-Filter Technology. It transforms to a unique, water-like texture on your skin while antioxidant vitamin E protects.
Another brand that’s synonymous with Skincare (to me) is Kiehl’s (despite lack of availability… I mean it was available at The Avenues at some point, sorta’ facing Sephora, but apparently didn’t do well). There was no Gift With Purchase on this baby, but it had good reviews (namely “no residue” which is a pet peeve of mine) therefore, sold! Didn’t expect it to be this big though (really giving you a bang for your buck)!
Sample Pack (5pc) is free with every order, except normally you get your pick of only 3 Samples but sometimes they’ll have these pre-selected 5pc Sample Packs. Either way, pretty cool!

Since the total for my order was $184 (KD 55) I qualified for the Winter Beauty Gift With Purchase! The Cosmetics Bag was actually pretty cool! Funny enough, the samples included something from both Clinique (mostly the same stuff I got in the Gift With Purchase except in tinier amounts) and Kiehl’s lol Not gonna’ lie, I’m super excited to try out the GlamGlow TropicalCleanse because I’ve had my eye on it for a minute, except it gets terrible reviews so I’ve been kinda’ iffy about purchasing it (spotted it earlier at our local Sephora, at some point). Also, I love that the Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser is more than a one-time-use sample! Also, how cute is the Living Proof Hair Spray! Also, Clé de Peau and Omorovicza? Foncy, foncy! All in all, aside from the Fragrance Sample Pack (haulage here), this is actually one of the nicer Sample Packs (click on pic to enlarge)!
Sun Protection stuff + Mascara
So this is the stuff I actually purchased.
And this is the stuff I bought alongside everything else that came with them! Noice! Bummer about Oud Bouquet being out of stock, but super stoked about the rest of this stuff! Now I can happily exfoliate my face off (issues…)! Once again, Nordstrom has exceeded my expectations!
