Nordstrom Cyber Monday Haulage

Like I said in my previous post (here), I was sick of paying top dollar dinar and still having to deal with all the unpleasantness at the local stores. So, I turned to online shopping and one store that really stood out to me was Nordstrom. They had everything you could think of, including brands that have yet to reach Kuwait (give ’em a year… or ten lawl)! I purchased a ton of skincare and ended up getting a ton of deluxe samples as a “gift with purchase”, all for only KD 100 ($331.52 with tax)!

Everything was properly packaged (not one thing arrived damaged) and was shipped pretty much the next day! They also had great customer service with agents available on the 24-hour live chat pop-up to answer any of your questions! You could tell these guys were trained because they knew exactly what they were talking about and they got back to you instantly (unlike the 15 minute wait at Carriage for them to only tell you “I don’t know” lol so useless). Even on the off-chance that customer service reps at Nordstrom didn’t know something, they’d transfer you to the proper department in a matter of seconds! They were so professional! More importantly, they were all extremely polite and actually quite friendly!

Basically, from the products, to the price, to the attitude of the customer service reps, the whole experience was massively different to the experience of shopping at any given store in Kuwait! You don’t have to take my word for it either! Just compare this Nordstrom Haul to any given Sephora Haul and you can spot the different for yourself! Needless to say, I was extremely satisfied with the whole experience of shopping online from Nordstrom and will continue to do so in the future!

I got some stuff from Herbivore Botanicals and Sunday Riley, both of which are skincare brands that I have yet to see in Kuwait. You wouldn’t think it, but to me, Buxom Lip Creams are one of the most elusive beauty products I’ve ever tried to acquire. It was next to impossible to get my hands on this stuff… and I’ve seriously been trying… for years! +10 years later, I’ve finally gotten my hands on the shade White Russian! I can die happy now! I also got a small size of the infamous ExfoliKate which I’ve wanted to try for years now, but could never find. I picked up the COSRX Low pH BHA Overnight Mask because it seemed like a great starting point to ease my skin into this whole chemical exfoliating business. Also, COSRX is a Korean brand. Arguably the best thing out of this entire haul, was the discovery of my beloved Lancome Oscillation Mascara (full review here), which I was told was discontinued, but apparently is still being sold world-wide, just not in Kuwait.

Oh and if I spent a certain amount on Sunday Riley stuff, I qualified for a Sunday Riley Gift With Purchase (which happened to be out of stock) and if I spent a certain amount on Herbivore stuff, I qualified for a Herbivore Gift With Purchase (which was full size products!) and if I purchased a certain amount of Lancome stuff, I qualified for Lancome Gift With Purchase (slew of skincare and a mascara sample and a lash primer sample!) and just for placing any order, I qualified for a 5-piece samples pack (random and based on availability) and if I purchased a certain amount of skincare in general, I qualified for a 12 piece Gift (deluxe samples from a variety of awesome brands)! They had all sorts of other Limited Edition Holiday Kits and Value Sets and Gifts With Purchase and so on, but I was most interested in skincare, because like I said earlier, my skin had been misbehaving lately and physical exfoliators just weren’t cutting it, which was why I was now turning to chemical exfoliators.

Sunday Riley

Sunday Riley Face to Face Kit ($70 Value) retails for $49.00 (KD 16/000)
Sunday Riley Juno Antioxidant + SuperFood Face Oil retails for $36 (KD 11/800)

Out of Stock – Sunday Riley Gift 3pc ($42 value) free deluxe samples of U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Acne Treatment Face Oil (0.17 oz.) and Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream (0.3 oz.) and Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment (0.17 oz.) with $65 Sunday Riley purchase.

Honestly? I’ve wanted to get my hands on Luna Sleeping Night Oil from Sunday Riley from the day it was released… purely because it was blue (so cool)! Apparently, Blue Tansy was what gave it that delightful blue color! With that being said, I was very interested in giving anything from Sunday Riley a try and what better way than to pick up a Kit that came with several best-sellers in mini sizes, including the all-in-one Lactic Acid Treatment. I also grabbed a full sized Face Oil called Juno (don’t you just love the names?) just for the heck of it, but also to qualify for the 3pc Gift With Purchase (which didn’t arrive because they ran out, I guess, but that’s fine because the stuff I got was awesome)!

Sunday Riley Face to Face Kit ($70 Value) retails for $49.00 (KD 16/000)

What it is: A limited-edition collection of crowd-favorite products to meet the best version of your skin.

Tidal Enzyme Brightening Water Cream (0.5 oz.): an advanced brightening and refining treatment infused into a next-generation water cream.
Ceramic Slip Cleanser (1 oz.): a skin-balancing cleanser that purifies the complexion while visibly tightening the appearance of pores for clear, healthy-looking skin.
Good Genes Treatment (0.3 oz.): a treatment formulated with high-potency, purified grade lactic acid that immediately exfoliates dull, pore-clogging dead skin cells to reveal smoother, fresher, younger-looking skin.
C.E.O. Rapid Flash Brightening Serum (0.3 oz.): a highly potent, fast-absorbing serum infused with 15% THD ascorbate (vitamin C) to fight the look of dullness, dark spots and discolorations while instantly increasing brightness, radiance and luminosity.

The Face to Face Kit came with bright and colorful (if a bit wacky) packaging! It included Ceramic Slip (Cleanser) and C.E.O. (Serum) and Tidal (Water Cream) and most importantly Good Genes (Lactic Acid Treatment) for only $49 ($70 value)! Again, I’d like to point out that the names are absolutely delightful! They did have other Limited Edition Kits, but this one appealed to me the most!

Sunday Riley Tidal Enzyme Brightening Water Cream (0.5 oz.): an advanced brightening and refining treatment infused into a next-generation water cream.

This isn’t your average moisturizer (no siree Bob)! It’s got 2 forms of Hyaluronic Acid and Tamarind Extract to hydrate and plump the skin, and Alpha-Arbutin to visibly brighten the appearance of hyperpigmentation and dark spots, and Papaya Enzymes to smooth and exfoliate the skin!

Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser (1 oz.): a skin-balancing cleanser that purifies the complexion while visibly tightening the appearance of pores for clear, healthy-looking skin.

Less excited about this stuff, but I won’t knock it ’til I try it.

Sunday Riley Good Genes Treatment (0.3 oz.): a treatment formulated with high-potency, purified grade lactic acid that immediately exfoliates dull, pore-clogging dead skin cells to reveal smoother, fresher, younger-looking skin.

The main thing that sold me on the Face to Face Kit was this stuff! Not gonna’ lie, the whole “high-potency” and “purified grade” business (sounds serious) makes me feel a bit anxious, but whatevs. I’m down for trying anything that’s meant for exfoliating (be it physical or chemical)!

Sunday Riley C.E.O. Rapid Flash Brightening Serum (0.3 oz.): a highly potent, fast-absorbing serum infused with 15% THD ascorbate (vitamin C) to fight the look of dullness, dark spots and discolorations while instantly increasing brightness, radiance and luminosity.

15% THD? Sold! Not that I even knew what that stood for, but it sounded legit. Also, the name C.E.O. actually made me lol

Sunday Riley Juno Antioxidant + SuperFood Face Oil retails for $36 (KD 11/800)

What it is: A nourishing oil that gives obsession-worthy radiance and helps restore skin’s natural moisture barrier with a unique blend of antioxidant-rich, superfood seed oils.

What it does: It’s formulated with a botanically active blend of cold-pressed powerhouse superfood seed oils, and nourishes the skin with critical antioxidant, vitamins, essential amino acids, Omegas 3, 6 and 9 and naturally soothing agents for a luminous, radiant complexion. Vitamins A and C help to brighten the skin’s appearance of healthy-looking, natural vibrance, while fortifying the skin with anti-aging antioxidants. It sinks in, leaving skin hydrated, protected and velvety soft. It is formulated without essential oils, for those who are sensitive to the activity of essential oils.

We’re both pretty cute for two ugly people

Yeah so I got this for several reasons:

1) To qualify for the 3pc Sunday Riley Gift With Purchase
2) It seemed pretty popular.
3) Ellen Page.

Not bad for my first haul from Sunday Riley, eh? From the superfood seed oils and antioxidants in Juno, to the 15% THD in C.E.O. to the Lactic Acid in Good Genes, to the Papaya Enzymes in Tidal, the ingredients in these products seemed pretty potent! I can’t wait to give them a try!

Herbivore Botanicals

Herbivore RoseWater Hydration Trio ($75 value) retails for $54 (KD 17/690)
Herbivore Blue Tansy AHA + BHA Resurfacing Clarity Mask retails for $48 (KD 15/720)
Herbivore Gift 2pc ($34 value) free with every Herbivore Botanicals $100 purchase

Another brand I’ve lusted after from afar (for lack of availability in Kuwait) was Herbivore Botanicals. As soon as I spotted the brand, I picked up an adorable little RoseWater Trio and a full size Blue Tansy Mask and qualified for the 2pc Herbivore Gift With Purchase (Mist + Soap)!

Herbivore RoseWater Hydration Trio ($75 value) retails for $54 (KD 17/690) –

Herbivore Rose Hibiscus Coconut Water Hydrating Face Mist 2oz/60mL
Herbivore Prism Natural Fruit Acid 5% Exfoliating Glow Potion 0.5oz/15mL
Herbivore Pink Cloud RoseWater Moisture Creme 1oz/30mL

They had other Limited Edition Kits available, but this one was hands down the cutest! It came with Prism (yet another chemical exfoliater) which was the main reason I wanted this Kit in particular, but also Pink Cloud Creme (doesn’t it just sound lovely?) and Rose Hibiscus Coconut Water Face Mist all for only $54 ($75 value)!

Herbivore Prism Natural Fruit Acid 5% Exfoliating Glow Potion 0.5oz/15mL

A super lightweight serum featuring a rainbow of natural fruit acids and botanicals extracts to exfoliate, hydrate, even appearance of skin tone, smooth + clarify. For your best skin yet, naturally.

Directions: Apply 4-8 drops to clean skin and massage in as a leave on treatment. Use daily or as often as needed. A tingle upon application is normal, especially during the first few uses. When using during the day, follow with SPF. If redness or irritation occurs please discontinue using.

K E Y I N G R E D I E N T S

Bilberry Lactic, Sugar Cane Glycolic, Orange Peel Citric and Apple Malic Acid pair with Vitamin C-rich Kakadu Plum to gently brighten and clarify skin.

Rose Water, Aloe Water, and plant-derived vegan Sodium Hyaluronate combine to soothe appearance of redness, visibly plump and hydrate dry skin.

I figured the travel size version (0.5oz/15mL) would be the best way to try out Prism and see how my skin got on with it, rather than purchasing the full size (1oz/30mL) and possibly not liking it.

Herbivore Pink Cloud RoseWater Moisture Creme 1oz/30mL

Finally, the perfect moisturizer. Pink Cloud hydrates, visibly plumps, and smooths skin leaving it with a glowing + slightly dewy finish. Includes Rosewater, Aloe Water, and White Tea Extract to moisturize, soothe and reduce the appearance of redness. Formulated for all skin types — never greasy, oily, or sticky. Perfect under makeup or worn alone to let your skin breathe.

K E Y I N G R E D I E N T S

Rose Water – Naturally high in anti-oxidants and excellent for reducing the appearance of redness in skin. This is also where Pink Cloud’s natural scent comes from.

Aloe Water – Lightweight, skin soothing and hydrating. Aloe is also naturally rich in salicylic acid to help with clarifying skin.

White Tea Extract – Rich in antioxidants, White Tea Extract helps to boost radiance in all skin types.

Kukui Oil – Rich in linoleic acid, Kukui is effective and hydrating and balancing all skin types.

Sodium Hyaluronate – Vegetable sourced, it penetrates deeply into the skin to attract and lock-in moisture for maximum hydration.

Rice Extract – Helps to brighten and even the appearance of skin tone.

Honestly, I just wanted Pink Cloud as a consolation prize for not being able to get my hands on the Glow Recipe Watermelon Sleeping Mask. Also, Pink Cloud was actually pink and had an adorable name to boot!

Herbivore Rose Hibiscus Coconut Water Hydrating Face Mist 2oz/60mL

A truly natural base of organic Coconut Water is infused with naturally-humectant Hibiscus Flower Extract and moisture-enhancing Rose Water to refresh and hydrate skin. Formulated for all skin types.

K E Y I N G R E D I E N T S

Coconut Water – In Hawaiian, Coconut Water is known as “Noelani,” which translates to “dew from the heavens.” Instantly hydrating and replenishing due to high levels of amino acids, Coconut Water contains skin-refreshing cytokines and lauric acid to refresh and hydrate skin.

Hibiscus Flower Extract – Rich in malic and citric acid to provide natural light exfoliation resulting in a visually more even skin tone. A natural humectant, Hibiscus Flower Extract promotes firmness and elasticity in the skin.

Rose Water – Steam distilled from thousands of petals per ounce of beautiful red Moroccan roses, our rose water helps to hydrate and refresh skin.

I’ve already got a million Face Mists at this point, but it came with the Trio. Plus, you can’t go wrong with Coconut Water, amirite or amirite?

Like I said, the RoseWater Trio was pretty cute! It came with a moisturizer and a face mist and an exfoliating serum all with natural skin-friendly ingredients!

Herbivore Blue Tansy AHA + BHA Resurfacing Clarity Mask 2.3oz/70mL retails for $48 (KD 15/720)

A truly natural mask that gently clarifies blemish-prone skin with Fruit Enzymes, White Willow Bark, Aloe, and Blue Tansy Essential Oil to soothe the appearance of redness.

Directions: Apply a thin layer to clean skin. Slight tingling is normal with this mask as it works to gently exfoliate and resurface the skin. Leave on 15–20 minutes or until the mask is completely dry. Rinse with warm water. Sensitive skin: Leave on 5 minutes and rinse with warm water.

Tips for use: For the first seven days, use every other day for best results. After day seven, use 2–3 times per week to maintain results. Follow this mask with Rose Hibiscus Face Mist and a facial oil for optimal results.

K E Y I N G R E D I E N T S

White Willow Bark – A natural beta hydroxy acid (BHA), it is high in anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial Salicin to help clarify skin.

Fruit Enzymes – Natural alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) including papaya and pineapple work to gently exfoliate and leave the complexion smooth and refined.

Blue Tansy Oil – Naturally high in Azulene which in addition to giving the oil its beautiful blue color, works to reduce the appearance of redness and soothe irritated skin.

All I had to read was AHA + BHA and I was sold! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, exfoliating gives me life! Also, I’m loving that this Mask was actually named Blue Tansy and even has the accompanying blue color to it (so cool)! Now I don’t feel the need to obsess over Sunday Riley Luna anymore because I’ve got Herbivore Blue Tansy!

Herbivore Gift ($34 value) free with every Herbivore Botanicals $100 purchase

This stuff was in bubble-wrap (Nordstrom don’t mess around when it comes to packaging). Once I unwrapped it, I realized this was the Herbivore Gift with Purchase. It consisted of Bamboo Charcoal Detoxifying Soap Bar and Jasmine Green Tea Balancing Toner which I thought was pretty suh-weet! You’d never get something like this (new, not expired, more than one-time-use amount, actual best-seller) in Kuwait, as a free gift with purchase, never!

Herbivore Bamboo Charcoal Detoxifying Soap Bar 4oz/113g retails for $12

Bamboo Charcoal has been used for centuries in the Far East. Bamboo charcoal does wonders to purify the skin by cleansing it of dirt, drawing impurities from deep within your pores. Gentle yet effective, Bamboo Charcoal works especially well to clean and care for oily, combination and blemish-prone skin types.

K E Y I N G R E D I E N T S

Activated Bamboo Charcoal – Deeply cleanses and purifies the skin.

Tea Tree Essential Oil – Tea Tree is an excellent tried and true ingredient for clarifying skin.

Regardless of the ingredients, this stuff smelled delicious, inasmuch that it actually reminded me of Lush “You Snap The Whip” Body Butter (here). On the more practical side, many, many, many people claim that it helped them get rid of their Keratosis Pilaris. So, if you suffer from KP, snatch this sucka’ up! Personally, I don’t think I’ve got KP but hey, prevention is key (or maybe not, I don’t know). In any case, I’m happy I got this stuff!

Jasmine Green Tea Balancing Toner 2oz/60mL retails for $22

Organic Jasmine Water is infused with antioxidant-rich Green Tea and a clarifying combination of Salicin-rich Willow Bark and Aloe Vera. Formulated to bring balance to combination, oily, and blemish-prone skin.

K E Y I N G R E D I E N T S

Jasmine Water – Distilled from thousands of petals, Jasmine Water soothes and reduces the appearance of redness for calm, glowing skin.

Green Tea Extract – Loaded with antioxidants, Green Tea helps to soothe the appearance of redness and increase clarity and balance in blemish-prone skin or any skin type.

White Willow Bark – A natural beta hydroxy acid (BHA), it is high in anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial Salicin to help clarify and balance skin.

Oooh, Green Tea! I’ll bite! This stuff got mixed reviews. Side note – It’s slowly dawning on me that the packaging on the ColourPop Crystal Liquid Highlighters looked suspiciously similar to the packaging on Herbivore Face Mists and Face Toners (naughty, naughty).

Between the AHA + BHA in Blue Tansy (plus the cool blue color) and the 5% Natural Fruit Acid in Prism I dare my skin to misbehave now! The adorable Pink Cloud Creme and Rose Coconut Water Face Mist and Green Tea Toner and Bamboo Charcoal Soap are just the icing on the cake! I’m super stoked with my Herbivore Botanicals haulage!

Lancôme

Lancome Oscillation Mascara retails for $36.50 (KD 11/950)
Lancome Advanced Génifique Hydrogel Melting Sheet Mask retails for $15 (KD 4/910)
Lancome Gift 5pc free with every Lancôme $49.50 purchase

Apparently, Lancome has all kinds of Gift With Purchase deals (like, really really nice ones) going on year-round at Nordstrom. I was not aware of this because this was my first “beauty and skincare” purchase from Nordstrom, ever. I’ve purchased from them only once before, but it was a gift for someone else and it wasn’t “beauty or skincare” related. In any case, I wasn’t obsessed with this particular Lancome 5pc Gift With Purchase, but I knew I had to get my hands on my beloved Oscillation Mascara and that if I picked up one more thing, I would qualify for the gift with purchase anyway, hence the Lancome haulage.

Lancome Oscillation Mascara retails for $36.50 (KD 11/950)

Take your lashes to a whole new level with this revolutionary vibrating mascara that delivers 7,000 oscillations per minute to re-create the application technique of a makeup artist.

What it does: This lash-transforming powerhouse does it all: lengthens, separates and multiplies with just the press of a button. In an instant, you’ll experience a breakthrough sensation in application as the vibrating brush, combined with an exquisitely smooth formula, wraps every lash up to 360°. Your lashes will be utterly transformed before your eyes.

How to use: Push the button to activate the vibrating wand and hold during the application. Apply to the root of the lashes. Gently draw the brush towards the tip of the lash, no need to zigzag the brush. Repeat to build desired lash intensity.

My love! Oh, I’ve missed you so! I don’t know why they stopped selling this wonderful Mascara in Kuwait, but somebody needs to bring it back, rapido! I won’t got into too much detail because I’ve written an entire post reviewing this baby (here), but I will say (despite the silly vibrating option, which I never ever use) I absolutely love, love, love Lancome Oscillation Mascara! From the height and width of the plastic bristles, to the formula, to the everything, this stuff is ah-maze!

I say again, someone (read: anyone) needs to start selling Lancome Oscillation Mascara in Kuwait again!

Lancome Advanced Génifique Hydrogel Melting Sheet Mask retails for $15 (KD 4/910)

What it is: A hydrogel sheet mask that gives skin instant radiance, smoothness and plumpness in as little as 10 minutes.

What it does: It feels like the mask melts onto your skin for a flexible, cocooned feeling. It’s formulated with the brand’s cult-favorite Advanced Génifique serum’s bifidus extract, and helps to strengthen and protect skin’s moisture barrier. Each mask contains the same amount of bifidus extract found in one full bottle of serum. In as little as 10 minutes, skin is left feeling hydrated and fresher. Skin looks more radiant, fine lines and pores appear visibly reduced, skin texture appears refined and skin looks rested for a younger-looking appearance. This sheet mask won’t leave your skin feeling sticky or shiny.

I could’ve asked around at the local Lancome counters and probably found this stuff, but I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t have been priced at KD 4/910. In fact, I’m actually going to ask about this stuff during my next visit to Sephora just to prove my point (to myself lol). That said, I really liked Genefique (haulage here) and I enjoy popping on a Sheet Mask and I needed something to bump up the total to qualify for the Lancome Gift With Purchase so… wins all around.

Lancome Gift 5pc free with every Lancôme $49.50 purchase

Like I said, Lancome has all sorts of Gift With Purchase promos going on over at Nordstrom (they even have one right now) and each one is nicer than the one before. Some come with cool Makeup Bags with legit Makeup in it, like a full size Blush and Lipstick and mini Kohl Liner and so much more. Sometimes, it’s just Skincare. Sometimes it’s a mix of both Makeup and Skincare. I went with this one because it was the Gift With Purchase that happened to be available at the time of my order.

Now get this, each one came with its own little paper that had all the info on it, like ingredients and how to use the stuff and so on! We never get all the information on anything in Kuwait (even full sized products let alone deluxe samples lol)! I’m telling you, even the actual products had a sticker on the bottom that had the expiry date! You knew when to use this stuff and when to hurry up and finish it and when to trash it! Seems like it’d be a simple pre-requisite but nah, not in Kuwait! Over here, you’re playing Russian Roulette with your cosmetics items and skincare, having nothing to go on but the sales assistant’s promises that whatever it was, it was “new” lol

Lancome Rénergie Lift Multi-Action Day Cream 0.5oz/15g

Lancome Rénergie Lift Multi-Action Night Cream 0.5oz/15g

Lancome Rénergie Lift Multi-Action Eye Cream 0.20oz/6g

Lancome Cils Booster XL Vitamin-Infused Mascara Primer 0.07fl.oz/2.07mL

Lancome Hypnôse Drama Mascara 0.135fl.oz/4mL

As I said earlier, I just wanted needed my beloved Lancome Oscillation Mascara, but since I only had to add a couple more dollars to my total, to qualify for the Lancome Gift With Purchase, I grabbed a Sheet Mask and ended up with all the cute minis shown!

Must-Haves

Buxom White Russian Full-On Lip Cream 0.14 fl.oz/4.2mL retails for $21 (KD 6/880)
COSRX Low pH BHA Overnight Mask 1.69 fl.oz/50mL retails for $21 (KD 6/880)
Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment 0.5 fl.oz/15mL retails for $24 (KD 7/860)

I like how the bigger items cost less than the itty bitty one lol There was a Gift With Purchase on Kate Somerville as well, but I was only interested in trying out the ExfoliKate Treatment which I’ve heard so many good things about, over the years. Same with Buxom Lip Cream in the shade White Russian. As for the COSRX low pH Overnight Mask, it was more of a last minute purchase. These weren’t necessarily must-haves for the average person. They were just must-haves to me (for me?) and also, I didn’t know what to title them lol

Buxom White Russian Full-On Lip Cream 0.14 fl.oz/4.2mL retails for $21 (KD 6/880)

What it is: A creamy, plumping, glass-smooth color and gloss with no shimmer or glimmer.

What it does: Hydrating hyaluronic spheres infuse lips with luscious moisture while vitamins A and E keep lips soft, sexy and protected in the brightest, boldest shades to play up a perfect lip look.

As I said at the start of this post, the Buxom Lip Cream was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to track down, because apparently it was only sold at Sephora or whatever (but our local Sephora doesn’t stock Buxom). Even way back when, at the time that Sephora was available on Amazon.com and I attempted ordering this baby, they just excluded it from my order -_- I didn’t wanna’ risk getting something old or expired or tampered with from unknown sellers, so I’ve just had to live without the stuff for all these years… but not anymore, baby!

With that being said, I only felt the need to own this because I’ve been lusting after it for so long. However, you can find the exact same shade with the exact same lip tingling (“lip plumping”) effect from any given brand (MAC – ELF) for a fraction of the price. Just being honest! As for myself, I’m deliriously happy that I finally got White Russian (…issues…)!

COSRX Low pH BHA Overnight Mask 1.69 fl.oz/50mL retails for $21 (KD 6/880)

What it is: An overnight mask that clears away dead skin and dullness while you sleep.

What it does: Formulated with 0.9% BHA, this nondrying mask can be used overnight or double as a moisturizer. BHA aids in minimizing the appearance of large pores and reducing blemishes, while centella asiatica–leaf water soothes redness and heals skin.

This was purely a last minute purchase. Since I got a bunch of stuff that contained AHA and BHA and God knows what else, I figured I’d need to ease my skin into it and slowly work my way up to the more potent stuff. This Overnight Mask said “low pH” which seemed perfect as a starting point for me! Plus, COSRX was a Korean brand, which meant I could trust them, blindly.

Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment 0.5 fl.oz/15mL retails for $24 (KD 7/860)

What it is: A dual-action exfoliator that smoothes and polishes to reveal a glowing, radiant complexion after just one use.

What it does: This best-selling exfoliator is formulated with face-scrubbing natural exfoliants to deep clean clogged pores, while lactic acid and fruit enzymes reveal smooth skin and a brighter, healthier-looking complexion. Papaya, pineapple and pumpkin enzymes are formulated for natural exfoliation of dead skin cells without overdrying; lactic acid acts a natural AHA skin exfoliator; rosewood and cinnamon extracts address dull skin; and vitamin A provides antioxidant benefits.

No wonder this thing has won so many awards over the years! It’s got the best of both worlds! It’s a physical exfoliator (my favorite!) and a chemical exfoliator! I only got the mini size to try this baby out, but if things work out, I’m definitely repurchasing it in the full size! Same goes for all the minis in this haul actually. It’s winking at me, so already we’re off to a good start!

Aveda hand relief Hand Cream (0.34 oz.)

MALIN+GOETZ Brightening Enzyme Mask (0.24 oz.)

Another Enzyme Mask! It’s a sign I’m on the right path! lol For real though, I’ve been a smidge curious about Malin + Goetz but it wasn’t as readily available, locally.

Skin Inc. Coenzyme Q10 Serum (0.24 oz.)

Not sure if this is the same brand I spotted during the Perfume & Makeup Exhibition (pics, here), but either way, how cool does this stuff look? I almost wanna’… drink it!

Erno Laszlo Sea Mud Deep-Cleansing Bar (0.6 oz.)

Stupid cute! Another brand that I’ve seen around a lot. Also, Sea Mud, yaaay!

So these are all the deluxe samples…

This is everything I got from Nordstrom, including all the full size products and travel size versions in the kits and one-time-use samples and deluxe samples, all together. Again, all this only cost KD 100 ($331.52 with tax). My beloved Lancome Oscillation Mascara and the elusive Buxom White Russian Lip Cream were the only 2 makeup-y type items, whereas everything else I purchased was skincare. I think I’m pretty much set on skincare for the next 10 years, at least. I dare my skin to behave after this!

On a more serious note, compare this Nordstrom haulage to any given Sephora haulage or any other haulage in Kuwait (from the sales assistants, to the price, to the samples or lack thereof, to the actual products themselves with nothing but a flimsy piece of tape in lieu of a safety seal and no expiry date anywhere on the packaging). The difference is insane! There is no comparison. Nordstrom is on a whole other level! I’m actually quite glad about the whole Perfume Fail business now (here), because I was finally so fed up enough to look elsewhere! That doesn’t mean I’m never going to shop locally anymore (which is kinda’ hard to do since, y’know, I live here), but it’s nice to have options, man.
