Spotted at Sephora (December)

I really wish I’d gotten this post up sooner (like, December), but you know… life. In this post, I’ll be going over some New Items, Skincare, Hair Care, Perfume, cute stuff at the “Aisle of Doom“, the Brand Gift of the month, and most importantly, a few of the discounted items during “Beauty Friday” (Sephora’s version of Black Friday)! I’ll start by going over all the Sephora Holiday Sets.

Sephora had released a whole slew of Gift Sets for the Holidays! You could differentiate them by their lovely navy blue packaging (to mimic the night sky) with a golden moon and stars scattered all over them! Around every corner there was a different Holiday Display. At first, it was a bit overwhelming, but I quickly realized it was mostly the same stuff, except rearranged differently. I tried to take pictures of as many of them as I could. I believe I managed to get all of them (sorry in advance for the glare in some of the photos!)

This (shown above) was literally on the opposite side of the Too Faced Counter. All the other Holiday Displays scattered throughout Sephora featured several of the same products, which led me to believe that this was the main display.

Sephora Glowy Surprise Cracker (Blush & Highlight Set)
Sephora Midnight Surprise Cracker (Mascara & Eyeliner Set)
Sephora Cream Lip Stain Collection (6 Lip Stains)
Sephora Enchanted Sky Palette (8 Eye Shadows)
Sephora Midnight Wishes Palette (16 Eye Shadows)
Guerlain Santal Royal Perfume

LOL I’m guessing they added the Perfume to the display because it sorta’ matched the packaging of the Sephora Holiday Gift Sets.

Origins GinZing Set
GlamGlow SuperStar Set
Smashbox Holidaze Palette
Sephora Star Catcher Eyeshadow Palette
Urban Decay Born To Run Eyeshadow Palette

Tarte Pineapple Of My Eye Palette
Sephora Once Upon a Night Palette
Origins Skincare Set
Tarte Life Of The Party Clay Blush Clutch Palette

GlamGlow SuperStar Set

Closer look at the GlamGlow SuperStar Set. As you can hopefully tell by the packaging, it came with a full size SuperMud and a travel size GravityMud (glittery pink) and another travel size GravityMud (purple) and some Star-Shaped Stencils. I’m guessing the cute colors are for Instagram-Worthy Selfies. The Stencils further cement that theory. All in all, it’s a pretty cute Set… just not for me.

Origins Skincare Set

Drink Up (Overnight Mask)
Clear Improvement (Charcoal Mask)
Mega-Mushroom Relief & Resilience (Soothing Treatment Lotion)
GinZing Eye Cream
GinZing Gel Moisturizer
Super Spot Remover
Checks and Balances (Frothy Face Wash)

Closer look at the the Origins Skincare Set. It’s actually a great way to try out travel-size versions of their best-sellers! That said, I’ve already owned the majority of them (at one point or another) so I’m kinda’ bored of Origins. I was mainly interested in the GinZing range, so I had to skip this baby.

Smashbox Holidaze Contour + Spotlight Palette (6 shades)
BeautyBlender Sweet Indulgence Beauty Sampler Set (4 Sponges + 4 Soaps)
GlamGlow Dream Team Set

This was on the side of the Too Faced Counter (back) and the side of the main display (front).

Smashbox Holidaze Contour + Spotlight Palette (6 shades) retails for KD 16/000

Very pretty Palette, despite the hideous packaging! I love how 5 out of the 9 shades has a certain design embossed on them too! That said, judging from what I know of Smashbox and their issue with pigmentation (terrible pigmentation, at least on my skin) and for that price, I had to pass this up.

BeautyBlender Sweet Indulgence Beauty Sampler Set (4 Sponges + 4 Soaps) retails for KD 19/750

This would make a lovely gift for the girl who goes through BeautyBlenders like water! You get 4 colorful BeautyBlender Sponges and 4 Cleansers/Soaps to match! Bright and cheery!

GlamGlow Dream Team Set retails for KD 18/000

Travel Size GalactiCleanse
Full Size WaterBurst
Travel Size ThirstyMud

Between the SuperStar Set and this Dream Team Set, honestly, GlamGlow was killin’ it! The packaging was so stinkin’ cute! The actual box had that whole holographic effect thing going for it! Plus, between the Michael Jackson nose, and the botoxed lips, and over-drawn and over-arched brows, and lashes for days, the girl depicted on the packaging was very reminiscent of a Bratz Doll… or as is more common (recently), an Instagram Model (girls be getting surgery to make them look more like their snapchat filter… tsk tsk).

Cute? Sure! Would I personally go that far though? Nah. Anyhoozles, this set came with ThirstyMud which I love (it smells and feels great!) and WaterBurst (which I’ve been meaning to try) and GalactiCleanse (no feelings, either way). Come to think of it… I’m not quite sure why I didn’t purchase the Dream Team Set

Edit: Oh right, I totally forgot. I’d placed an online order for some Skincare, so I didn’t wanna’ get stuck with 100 different Moisturizers. Otherwise, I totally would’ve purchased this incredibly appealing set from GlamGlow!

Sephora Midnight Surprise Cracker (Mascara & Eyeliner Set)
Sephora Once Upon a Night Brush Set
Sephora Once Upon a Night Palette

Like I said, it’s mostly the same stuff, just rearranged differently. Compare this display to the main display (first photo in this post) and you’ll notice the Midnight Surprise Cracker and Once Upon a Night Palette both being featured over there as well.

Sephora Midnight Surprise Cracker (Mascara & Eyeliner Set) retails for KD 8/000

Cute? Very!
Worth 8 Kuwaiti Dinars? Nope!

At the end of the day, we’re talking about a Sephora Mascara and Sephora Eyeliner here, meaning the quality is sub-par and the Christmas Cracker packaging, although adorable (I mean, look at those little owls), just doesn’t justify the price.

Sephora Once Upon a Night Brush Set (3 Mini Brushes) retails for KD 8/000

Again, very, very cute, but too expensive for 3 tiny Makeup Brushes. I probably would’ve picked it up had it been more reasonably priced, like somewhere around KD 5 (if not less).

Sephora Once Upon a Night Palette retails for KD 17/250

They could’ve given this out to me for free, and I still would’ve been like “no thanks, keep it!”

I hate, hate, hate any Palette that consists of Lipsticks and any sort of powder, because over time or just with regular use, the powder ends up getting all over the lipsticks (which grosses me out). This particular lay-out seems very old-fashioned. Plus, these “Blockbuster” Palettes, generally aren’t the best quality. If anything, this would be a nice gift for someone who is just recently starting out with makeup, to experiment and play around with (possibly a teen), because to me, that’s what this looks like… “play makeup”.

Sephora Midnight Wishes Palette (16 Eye Shadows)
Sephora Enchanting Colors Eye and Face Palette
Sephora In The Blink Of An Eye Eyeshadow Palette (3 Eye Shadows)
Sephora Star Catcher Eyeshadow Palette (36 Eye Shadows)
Sephora Enchanted Sky Eyeshadow Palette (8 shades)

Again, I’d like to point out that I’m seriously loving the theme of the Sephora Holiday Palettes! If you’ve happened to have read my Moon Jewelry post (here), you’ll know how deep my obsession goes (and goes and goes and goes) and this sorta’ thing plays right into it. Also, just how pretty do all the Sephora Holiday Palettes look, displayed together like that!

Sephora Midnight Wishes Palette (16 Eye Shadows) retails for KD 10/750

I was really feelin’ the shades on this baby (despite the fact that they were numbered, as opposed to having names). From the long design of the palette to the simple lay-out (lighter shades on one side, darker on the other), the whole thing actually seemed pretty appealing! If you clicked on the photo (to enlarge it), you could see that each of the shades had little stars embossed on them! So stinkin’ cute!

Sephora Enchanting Colors Eye and Face Palette retails for KD 8/250

Now I see why Sephora stuck with numbering their previous Eyeshadow Palette… they’re horrible with naming shades lol That aside, you get 8 Eyeshadows in a mixture of shimmers and mattes, and at the bottom, you get a Highlighter and Blush and Bronzer, all full sized. I’m not a huge fan of the shades (or their names lol), but for under a tenner, it aint too bad.

Sephora In The Blink Of An Eye Eyeshadow Palette (3 Eye Shadows) retails for KD 3/250

This thing was tiny! Look at the photo of the Holiday Display and you’ll spot this Eyeshadow Trio on the bottom shelf (situated next to the Cream Lip Stain Collection). The fact that it’s so small makes this “Palette” ideal as a Stocking Stuffer. However, I felt it was over-priced and should’ve just been given away a “gift with purchase” (for example with every KD15 purchase from the Sephora Collection or any other brand… since it was the Holidays and all). As inexpensive as the price was, this thing was way too tiny (and frankly the shades didn’t appeal to me either), so I wasn’t interested.

Sephora Star Catcher Eyeshadow Palette (36 Eye Shadows) retails for KD 16/500

Love the packaging and the name! Unfortunately, not a huge fan of the lay-out of the actual shadows themselves. There seemed to be many duplicates (albeit with barely perceptible differences). Also, out of all 36 shades, I was only loving the green row (going across). Also, knowing what I know of Sephora’s Eyeshadow quality, the price seemed absurd. I’d much rather get something else for that same price, from another brand (that I knew for sure would deliver better results).

Sephora Enchanted Sky Palette (8 Eye Shadows) retails for KD 6/500

Not a huge fan of the bling-y packaging, but loving the lay-out! Everything was all circular and cute! Plus, the shades seemed nice and price was actually decent!

Origins GinZing Set* (couldn’t find the actual name)
Tarte Pineapple Of My Eye Palette
Tarte Life Of The Party Clay Blush Clutch Palette
Sephora The Masked Surprise Face MultiMasking Set

Tarte Pineapple Of My Eye Palette (comes with Kitten Eyeliner + Low Key Lip Paint, as shown in the display) retails for KD 23/000

Origins GinZing Set* (not actual name) retails for KD 15/750

Tarte Life Of The Party Clay Blush Clutch Palette retails for KD 13/500

Tarte Pineapple Of My Eye Palette retails for KD 23/000

I despise the reflective packaging (it hurts my eyes) but otherwise it’s actually a pretty decent Palette. Plus, you get an Eyeliner and Lip Paint to boot. I took a better photo of the Palette actually opened, over at the Tarte counter.

Tarte Life Of The Party Clay Blush Clutch Palette retails for KD 13/500

The Amazonian Clay Blushes are absolutely lovely! That’s why I so down to pick up this particular Palette! Even the Clutch design was adorable! However, I couldn’t get past the glittery over-the-top packaging (I knew it would bug me too much) therefore, pass.

Sephora The Masked Surprise Face MultiMasking Set retails for KD 3/750

Nose Mask (new)
Eye Mask (horrible, fits all weird)
Lip Mask (never tried)

More Stocking Stuffer-esque stuff! Cute and reasonably priced (sorta’)!

Sephora The Charcoal Kit
Fenty Beauty Killawatt Foil Freestyle Highlighter Palette
Sephora Luminizer Stick* (not actual name)
Sephora Moon Phase Palette
Sephora Masks Set (4 Masks)
Sephora Silver Mask (Glow Booster)
Sephora Gold Mask (Skin Perfector)

Sephora The Charcoal Kit retails for KD 6/500

Sephora Charcoal Face Scrub
Sephora Charcoal Face Mask
Sephora Charcoal Nose Strip

I’m kinda’ over the whole Charcoal Skincare thing, because I find that it tends to dry out my already dry to begin with skin, so no thanks. However, it is a cute albeit over-priced Kit.

Fenty Beauty Killawatt Foil Freestyle Highlighter Palette
Sephora Luminizer Stick* (not actual name)
Sephora Moon Phase Palette

Sephora Masks Set (4 Masks – Mud – Primer – Bubble – Charcoal)
Sephora Silver Mask (Glow Booster)
Sephora Gold Mask (Skin Perfector)

Fenty Beauty Killawatt Foil Freestyle Highlighter Palette retails for KD 20/750

Pretty! Kinda’ reminds me of the Becca Ocean Jewels Palette though (spotted here). Love the holographic packaging as well!

Sephora Moon Phase Palette retails for KD 14/500

So, so, so pretty! Out of all the Sephora Holiday Gifts, this one is my favorite, by far! You get 9 shades in total. The 3 full moon shades are Highlighters. The 6 half moon shades are matte/pearl duos! So the circular shades are meant to mimic a full moon and inside of those matte shades are pearly shades shaped like a crescent moon! How adorable is that!

Kat Von D Trooper Black Eyeliner Obession Eyeliner Collector’s Edition (5 Eyeliners)

The older Filipina lady at the Nars counter was all “You can’t take pictures. Not allowed, not allowed”.

Meanwhile, opposite the Nars counter was yet another “Holiday” display (the one that had the Kat Von D Eyeliner Set, as shown) and that lady (a young, soft-spoken, empathetic veiled woman) actually lifted up the reflective glass (well, perspex) just so I could take a better picture. I didn’t even ask her to. She saw me struggling trying to find an angle that wasn’t reflective (I kinda’ looked ridiculous alternating between standing on my tippy-toes and then squatting immediately after) so she came over and gave me a hand and a genuinely warm smile afterwards once I thanked her. I wish all the Sales Assistants were as nice as her!

Based on my limited experience with Kat Von D products, I was really interested in picking up this 5-piece all-black Eyeliner Collection (it looked so cool!), but between my recent Milani purchase (haulage here) and E.L.F. purchase (haulage here) and previous Kat Von D samplage (here), at the moment, I was fully stocked up on Liquid Liners. More importantly, I don’t actually use Liquid Eyeliner as much, so there’s that too.

There was a display of Sephora Makeup Brushes over by the Sephora Collection of Face Powders and Concealers and such, by the the entrance (last row, facing the Armani / Privé Haute Couture Fragrances).

Sephora Once Upon A Night Brush Set retails for KD 8/000

As I said earlier, quite cute, but over-priced.

I believe that concludes all the Sephora Collection Holiday Gift Sets.

Benefit Holiday Sets

Goodie Goodie Gorgeous (blue cake tin) retails for KD 12/500
Hoola Matte Bronzer (full size)
The POREfessional: Pearl Primer (mini)
They’re Real! Mascara (jet black) (full size)

Triple Decker Decadence (hot pink cake tin) retails for KD 17/000
High Brow Brow Highlighting Pencil (full size)
BADgal BANG! Mascara (full size)
The POREfessional Face Primer (full size)
Gogotint Lip & Cheek Stain (mini)

Gimme Some Sugar (light pink cake tin) retails for KD 19/000
The POREfessional Face Primer (full size)
High Beam Complexion Highlighter (full size)
Hoola Matte Bronzer (full size)
Roller Lash Mascara (full size)

Not gonna’ lie. At first I was a bit overwhelmed! The Cake Tins although absolutely adorable were just too many! Once I took a closer look, I realized it was just the same 3 Cake Tins (Blue – Hot Pink – Light Pink). Let’s just get this out of the way, the Cake Tin packaging was ridiculously adorable! However, I only really like the Roller Lash Mascara out of all the ones they offer, and I’m already stocked up on Hoola (in all kinds of different sizes) and The POREfessional isn’t really my favorite. Still, these would make wonderful gifts either for yourself or for someone else. Also, they’re all being sold at a much lower price over at Benefit.com now that the Holidays are over.

Tarte

The Pineapple Of My Eye Palette (hate the reflective packaging) also came with Kitten Eyeliner (Black) and Low Key Lip Paint (nude) all for only KD 23/000 which seems pretty decent actually. I mean, look at all the eyeshadow shades and the oh-so-pretty blush shades! I passed on it, because I can’t stand the packaging. I kinda’ wanted the Blush Clutch Palette (because those Amazonian Clay Blushes are bomb), but the glittery packaging (which you can partially see, cropped out of the photo) turned me off.

Smashbox

Honestly, I don’t like Smashbox, but I take pics of their new(er) stuff anyway, for those of you are fans of the brand.

Nars Climax Mascara (new) retails for KD 10/000

This thing is always sold out! Also, the sales assistant was not nice.

Chanel

I wonder why the Chanel counter is always abandoned… or maybe it hasn’t been assigned to anyone? During all my “visits” to Sephora, I rarely find a sales assistant at Chanel. Weird. Anyways, I was interested in the Limited Edition Holiday Collection Nail Polishes but couldn’t find someone to ask, so I moved on.

Clarins

Yas, Clarins, Yaaaas! They’ve got the Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil (haulage here) and the Water Lip Stain (haulage here) in all the colors now! Well, technically a few of them were Sold Out, but I’m sure they’ll be restocking them soon. This display makes my heart so happy!

Skincare

Clinique

Oooh, bright colors! I’m still mad at Clinique for starting this whole gym makeup business, but I can’t stay mad at them for too long. I mean, look at all the cutesy packaging! If I was on-board a spaceship and was woken up from my cryogenic sleep, this is is the stuff I’d be using. I mean, it looks the part (at least to me, lol).

Dr Jart+
Boscia
Pixi

I’ve been through all of these in my previous “Spotted” posts. Those are the same products, except they’ve moved them to a different area now.

Lancome Skincare

Shiseido Skincare

The infamous Shiseido Sun Protection/Sun Block in the adorably rounded packaging! At last, we meet in person!

Chanel Skincare

Stupid cute!

Hair Care

Ouai Hair Care

Oooh, new stuff! On one hand, I really wanted to try the Air Dry Foam, but couldn’t find it, which is why I went for the Dry Shampoo (haulage here) and also, I’ve been dying to get my hands on the Sun of a Beach Ombre Spray. On the other hand, after the Dry Shampoo I got from this brand was such a huge fail, I’m a bit hesitant to give them another shot (once bitten, twice shy).

Ouai Sun of a Beach Ombre Spray retails for KD 9/000

It’s a sun-activated hair lightener (modern version of the old-school Sun-In lol). Seeing as how I’ve gone back to being blonde, I think I’ll have to avoid products that mess with my hair color, sadly.

Briogeo Blossom & Bloom Ginseng & Biotin Volumizing Conditioner
Briogeo Blossom & Bloom Ginseng & Biotin Volumizing Shampoo
Briogeo Blossom & Bloom Ginseng & Biotin Volumizing Spray

These retail for KD 7/250 each

Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-Exfoliating Shampoo retails for KD 11/000

Kinda’ like Lush Big Shampoo (review here) ♥

Fragrance

Maison Lancome

The only one I wanted had a completely empty tester. A month later, the tester was still empty. Just like the Chanel counter, I could never find anyone at the Maison Lancome counter. Still, I’m so thankful that it’s even available in Kuwait! Also, the hefty price tag is a fixed price, meaning these will cost the same, whether you make your purchase at Sephora or VaVaVoom or wherever else (just a lil FYI).

Maison Margiela Replica

So. Much. Yes.

First we get the foncy foncy Maison Lancome and now Replica? I die! At first, I kinda’ wanted Beach Walk but my nose was pretty burnt out by then (I’d kinda’ gone crazy sniffing Givenchy Perfumes beforehand, because I was convinced that I’d gotten a fake, but apparently not, because even at Sephora, Givenchy Ange ou Demon still smelled like Orange Juice to me). I did spritz Beach Walk on the sleeve of my Sweater (so I could hopefully sniff it back home), but I’d also spritzed many, many, many other perfumes all over my Sweater (apparently, my perfume kick was still going strong) and obviously had lost track of which was which and gotten them all mixed up. Still, super happy we have Replica in Kuwait! I can’t wait to give By The Fireplace a sniff!

Beauty Friday

I was absolutely devastated when I noticed this shelf. Apparently, Sephora had had a “Beauty Friday” which consisted of huge discounts on everything (Makeup + Perfume + Skincare + Hair Care) on Black Friday… and I’d missed out.

Bvlgari Mon Jasmin Noir L’eau Exquise Set reduced from KD 29/000 to KD 15/000

For example, this Perfume Set which had been significantly reduced.

Creed

As were these! Normally, Creed costs an arm and a leg… and a kidney and your first-born and your soul and the list goes on. As such, I was kinda’ bummed out that I’d missed out.

Loewe Aura

I’d purchased the flanker ages ago (haulage here) and have consequentially fallen in lurrrve (even though it had “floral” in the name, it smelled like a gourmand)! Since I was running dangerously low, I would’ve loved a chance to repurchase it at a lesser price (granted, I did purchase it at a discount the first time around as well).

Odict

I’ve never even heard of Odict before, but heck if I wasn’t intrigued! With names like Cloud Nine and Dusk and Mystic Drop how could I not be? Apparently, Odict was the brain-child of Omar Al Houli and Abdullah Al Dossari (Arabs representin’, yo!) and their fragrances are meant to be unisex. I would’ve loved to give them a sniff the testers were empty (do people drink them?) so I decided to come back for them later (I wouldn’t mind purchasing them at full price to support the founders) except they were nowhere to be found again and the sales assistants (not even one of them) knew what I was talking about :/

GlamGlow Volcasmic Set reduced from KD 35/750 to KD 12/500

Urban Decay Eyeshadows reduced from KD 7/450 to KD 3/500

Sephora Colorful Eyeshadows “reduced” from KD 6/250 to KD 3/000

Korean Beauty + Skincare

Moving on from the “Beauty Friday” counter, I couldn’t help but take yet another photo of the Korean Beauty Corner display. Normally, most of the photos are taken from the other side (facing the entrance), but this one was taken on the opposite side (facing the check-out counter). Everything just looked so organized and clean and pristine (just enlarge the photo to see what I mean)!

Too Cool For School Dinoplatz Escalator Mascara retails for KD 8/500

This Mascara came with an adjustable wand, hence the name Escalator (which made me giggle)!

Too Cool For School Pumpkin Sleeping Pack retails for KD 6/250

So basically, you apply this to your face and go to sleep and this stuff will exfoliate your skin… while you sleep!

These retail for KD 3/000 (?) each

I believe these were the latest additions to the Sephora SuperMask Collection and consisted of a Foiled Gold and Foiled Silver (for the Holidays?) which I thought was deliciously appropriate!

Pixi Glow Tonic (travel-size) retails for KD 4/500

GlamGlow Minis retail for KD 8/500

GlamGlow X Becca We Know Glow Kit retails for KD 8/250

GlamGlow GravityMud (exclusive pink shade) (mini size)
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector (Rosé Glow) (mini size)

Unexpected collab, but then again, why not? The end result seems absolutely lovely!

Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow To Go retails for KD 7/500

I really wish they’d leave a tester out for this thing, because I kinda’ want it and I kinda’ don’t want it, and a tester would help, like, a lot.

Fenty Beauty Two Lil Mattemoiselles (Plush Matte Lipstick: Chill Owt Edition) retails for KD 8/500

Basically, its 2 itty-bitty matte lipsticks in the shades Spanked (dusty rose) and Griselda (bold burgundy) and they come in the cutest lil ornament (as shown). I love the packaging! I love the ornament! I love the tiny sizes of the lipsticks! I love the price! Sadly, I hate the actual shades of the lipsticks. Me and rose, we aint friends.

Urban Decay Meltdown Makeup Remover retails for KD 4/750

So… they don’t have testers for anything else at the “Aisle of Doom”, but this they have testers for? smh

In case they didn’t get you at the “Aisle of Doom”, they also had a few more Sephora Masks literally at the cash register.

200 Point Brand Gift

Tarte Pamper Me Pretty Color Collection
– Tarte Tarteist Get It! Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint (full size)
– Tarte Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara (travel size)
– Tarte Amazonian Clay Sparkler 12Hour Highlighter (full size)

Black Card Gift + Gold Card Gift

Black Card Gift (Left) – Gold Card Gift (Right)

Not exactly sure if these were part of a promo (spend x amount and get one of them) or just given out to everyone with any purchase as a “Holiday Gift” or whatever, but the woman at the cash register gave one to me. When I asked her “What was this for?”, she replied “For you” so that answered that (as far as I was concerned, that was a great answer lol).

Black Card Gift

Gold Card Gift

Aww so cute and festive! They had them in several corners (well, I only noticed the two shown) throughout Sephora.

Hope you enjoyed this post!
