H&M Haul Part 3 of 3

Like I said in my previous clothing haul post, I was actually at H&M first, with a pile of knit-wear in hand, which I unceremoniously dropped in a corner of the changing room area, to skip over to Zara and pick up a few things over there (haulage here), before returning to H&M to leisurely try on the tops that I’d stashed away in the corner.

I’m not really a “clothes” type of person (obviously I wear clothes, but I’m not as invested in getting the latest and greatest) as my interest lies more with makeup and skincare/shower stuff/everything that smells nice. As such, I didn’t really buy that much clothes throughout the year. This was my final clothing haul of 2018.

Burgundy Marl Cable-Knit Jumper retails for KD 7/990

Jumper in a cable-knit cotton blend with ribbing around the neckline, cuffs and hem. Available in Light Beige and Light Pink and Grey Marl and Burgundy Marl and Dark Blue. 50% Cotton; 50% Acrylic

They might classify this as burgundy, but I thought it was an absolutely lovely rich chocolate brown that would pair well with any of my many jeans. However, I actually purchased it because I figured it might possibly pair well with my Stripe-y Wide-Leg Pants (from my H&M Haulage part 1 of 3) and see me through Winter. As such, I tried this baby on in a Small and X-Small, but ended up going with a Small, because the X-Small felt too cropped. As someone with a shorter midriff, I prefer longer tops, to elongate my torso.

That said, I liked that it was somewhat short, because it meant there was less fabric to contend with (no unseemly bulging that would create the illusion of a beer belly), if I ever decided to wear the top tucked in my skirts or trousers. Also, I liked the wider neckline, which meant I could wear a shirt underneath and have the collar on full display (for that collegiate vibe)! Lastly, the term 70’s Brown has been recirculating recently and while this may not be the best example of it, it still plays into that whole trend.

Side Note – The model has my hair!

Light Grey Melange Cable-Knit Turtleneck Sweater retails for KD 7/990

Cable-knit sweater in a soft cotton blend. Wide, rib-knit turtleneck and ribbing at cuffs and hem. Stocking-stitched back section. Available in Light Beige and Light Grey Melange and Dark Blue. 50% Cotton; 50% Acrylic

I liked the color (I have a soft spot for all things grey) so I tried this on in a Medium and a Small and X-Small. The X-Small was too tight and I wanted the option of being able to wear this on its own without feeling self-conscious, whereas the Medium was too chunky and I wanted the option of being able to wear it underneath my coats and jackets without feeling constricted. So, I ended up getting the Small which was nice and fitted enough to wear under other stuff, but also loose enough to wear on its own. I figure I could pair this top with everything from my my Black Mini Flare High Waist Jeans for a contrasting look (haulage here) or with my Light Grey Denim Super Skinny Low Jeans for a monochromatic look (haulage here). The mishmash or melange of light and dark grey, makes this top more versatile, for pairing it with other stuff.

White Rib-Knit Jumper retails for KD 9/990

Jumper in a soft rib knit containing some wool. Wide ribbing around the neckline, and long sleeves with wide, sewn-in turn-ups at the cuffs. Available in White and Light Grey Marl and Dark Grey Marl. 56% Acrylic; 23% Polyamide; 12% Wool; 5% Alpaca; 4% Elastane

This looked so fluffy and cute! It even felt quite soft! They only had 2 pieces left, which were a Size Small and X-Small so I grabbed both, tried them on, couldn’t decide between the two and just went ahead and purchased both… logic! That said, I hate the collar! I wish it was either higher (as in a turtleneck) or lower… and wider. This in-between thing looks… dumb. Still, I absolutely love the long sleeves and I especially love the turn-up cuffs! This goes without saying, but white pairs well with almost everything too.

Blue L’Amour T-Shirt With Printed Text retails for KD 10/990

T-shirt in cotton jersey with a printed text design, small embroidery detail at front, and a straight-cut hem. Available in Red L’Amour and Blue L’Amour. 100% Cotton

I walked past this t-shirt in red without a second glance, but once I spotted it in blue, I just had to have it! Both the red and blue had L’Amour printed on them (with Paris in a much smaller print and a little cartoon-y heart underneath). Personally, I just really really liked this particular shade of blue, regardless of what was printed on it. I tried it on in several sizes, but ended up going with a Size 10. Oddly enough, this t-shirt was the most expensive item out of everything in this entire haul lol

Burgundy Marl Cable-Knit Jumper retails for KD 7/990
Light Grey Melange Cable-Knit Turtleneck Sweater retails for KD 7/990
White Rib-Knit Jumper (x2) retails for KD 9/990 each
Blue L’Amour T-Shirt With Printed Text retails for KD 10/990

So I spent a total of KD 45/950 on these x5 tops, none of which were particularly warm, despite what they might look like lol Still, I love the way they look, as each one has its own charm!
