Bath & Body Works Haul (Water Collection + Sea-Tox Collection)

The last time I actually purchased anything from Bath & Body Works was almost a year ago (haulage here). I’d still pop in for quick peek, from time to time, but most of the releases were quite underwhelming (leaving me less than impressed).

So when I walked into the Mishref Co-op branch of Bath & Body Works that day and spotted both the Water Collection (in-depth deets here) and Sea-Tox Collection (in-depth deets here) I was delighted to find that everything (from the light and fresh scents that were absolutely perfect during hot and stifling weather, to the feature ingredients being Hyaluronic Acid and Seaweed, to the pretty and playful packaging, to the inclusion of fun products including Hair Mists and Facial Mists in addition to the Masks and Scrubs) was ridiculously appealing!

Even better was the fact that Bath & Body Works had an awesome promo (full size items for KD 2/750 and travel size items for KD 1/250) regardless of the sticker price, on both of the newer collections! Has someone at Bath & Body Works been reading my blog? I mean, I’m constantly complaining about new items not being included in any sales or decent promos, so this was quite a nice surprise! Obviously, I had to take advantage of the sweet deal and stock up!

I’ve got an entire post featuring the Water Collection (here). However, these are the only items I actually purchased from the Water Collection. Loving all the blue and the fact that this collection is legit called Water!

Not unlike the issue I had with the CocoaShea Cucumber Really Refreshing Foaming Scrub (haulage here), I could almost swear that the Water Collection smells like either sweet pears or sugar melons, but my friends are like “umm… that’s actually cucumber”. In any case, it’s a lovely, light, fresh and clean scent!

Secret Time: I picked up the Aqua Burst Body Wash purely for aesthetics. What with the clear packaging, blue gel and Vitamin E Beads (that burst when you squeeze them) suspended in the the blue gel, the whole thing just looked so cool! That said, I’ve been getting kinda’ sick of all my overly sweet and perfume-y shower gels lately (haulage here), so aesthetics aside, this particular scent was a much-needed respite! Plus, the Water Collection Aqua Burst Body Wash pairs so well with my CocoaShea Cucumber Really Refreshing Foaming Scrub (haulage here) as well as the Water Collection Mineral Body Polish!

As for the Mineral Body Polish, normally I can’t stand oil-based scrubs (not gritty enough, plus residue), but this stuff both exfoliated and hydrated my skin efficiently, leaving me with baby soft skin! Heck, I’d even say it’s comparable to the scrubs they use on you in the salon (when you’re getting a mani-pedi). That’s actually why I’ve gotten into the habit of using this stuff dry (pre-shower), about twice a week. It’s emollient enough for use on the more sensitive areas (including the face), in addition to the less sensitive areas (elbows, knees, feet, etc…). That said, I used the Body Polish on freshly shaved legs and it burned so bad (somehow it’d slipped my mind that this stuff consisted mainly of sea salt lol)! Despite what it may look like in the photos, the tub is huge (largest I’ve seen from Bath & Body Works, to date) so you’re getting a really generous amount of product too! Plus, the actual product is a gorgeous minty blue! If you can only get a single product from the entire Water Collection, make it the Mineral Body Polish!

Personally, I’ve been enjoying my showers a lot more, now that I’m using the Aqua Burst Body Wash (to cleanse) and finishing off with the Mineral Body Polish (to buff and hydrate)! They look great, perform great and most importantly smell great!

Apparently, Hyaluronic Acid is currently having a moment in the Beauty World, because I’ve been noticing it popping up, more and more, in the most unexpected of places, the most recent being Bath & Body Works. I couldn’t decide between these two, so I just got them both. They smell equally wonderful!

The Body Gel Lotion has a gel-to-water consistency (which is so fun to apply) making it perfect as a summer moisturizer, whereas the Hydrating Body Cream has more of a richer consistency, making it perfect for winter! Best of all, the scent is light enough that it doesn’t interfere with any of my other scented stuff. I’m not sure if there’s actually any real benefit to it, but if you happen to be insane (like me), you can even try applying both the Body Gel Lotion and Hydrating Body Cream together (over each other)!

Tips&Tricks: When I’m feeling too lazy to bust out my face moisturizer, I’ll just use whatever is left on my hands from the Body Gel Lotion and apply that to my face instead. So for those of you who don’t have sensitive skin, the Hyaluronic Acid Body Gel Lotion can double as an impromptu face moisturizer!

I’ve got an entire post featuring the Mermaid Approved Sea-Tox Collection (here). However, these are the only items I actually purchased from the Sea-Tox Collection. I appreciate the lovely packaging and the fact that it wasn’t marketed solely towards tweens (with an over-abundance of iridescent rainbow vomit) Secret time: grown women find mermaids enchanting too! I especially adore what looks to be like The Great Wave of Kanagawa as well the RPG-esque Mermaid on the packaging!

Scent-wise, I love the direction they went with this collection! They could’ve easily gone the more juvenile route (candy scent overload because… well… mermaids), but instead, they scented everything in the Sea-Tox Collection with a straight up masculine scent, which was unexpected and absolutely charming! The scent is fresh and zesty (lemon leaves?), quite light and most definitely masculine (“unisex”). I’m pretty sure I’ve purchased items from their men’s range that had this exact same scent before, but unfortunately, I can’t quite remember what the range was called, at the moment.

Like I said earlier, my overly sweet and candy-scented products (perfume, skincare, hair care, etc…) have began to annoy me. Lately, I find myself more interested in scents that are light, fresh, clean, unisex (if not masculine), or even all of the aforementioned, combined. As such, the Sea Mineral Body Wash was a God-send! I know for a fact that this particular scent is straight out of the For Men section, but I just can’t quite place it at the moment. It’s fresh and zesty but also light and not overly perfume-y (for once, the fact that the quality of B&BW scents has gone down is a good thing)! Best of all, it pairs so well and is awesome for layering with all my other products that have a zesty and uplifting scent (Garnier Ultra Doux 5 Plants Vitalizing Shampoo and The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Body Scrub and Lierac Purifying Cleanser and Nivea Lemongrass & Oil Soap and Nivea Fresh Comfort Anti-Perspirant and Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Perfume)! The packaging is meh but that’s okay because I’m more interested in the product inside. I’m enjoying my showers a lot more now thanks to this stuff as well!

As for the Body Polish, it’s literally the exact same as Jasmine & Green Apple Clay Body Scrub (haulage here) which I’ve been rationing up until now. Now that I’ve got this stuff, I can finally finish up what was left of the previous one. This version is a white-based pink and had a faint yet delightful scent to it! The main reason why I’m obsessed though, is because it’s amazing at sloughing off dead skin (literally revealing a whole new YOU)! Also, a little bit goes a long way! If you can only get one product from the Sea-Tox Collection, make it this one!

The Great Wave of Kanagawa is a woodblock print created by the Japanese Artist Hokusai, during the late Edo period. I thought the packaging on some of the products in the the Sea-Tox Collection was reminiscent of that particular print and as such, was even more smitten by the packaging! So purely for that reason, I had to snag the Seawood Body Cream in the full size (because it depicted the Wave Print). Unfortunately, products that come in this particular packaging start to smell like play-dough (in a little under a month or so) for some reason. It’s such a shame too, because the formula is the most superior of all the Bath & Body Works Moisturizers, by far!

As for the travel size, I had to get it too, because other than being cute, it’s quite practical! I tend to stash these minis in my handbags, because I’ll usually realize that I’ve forgotten to moisturize only after I was already out the door. In those instances, I’d just grab the nearest mini and proceed to slather it on. Also, like I said, the formula is awesome! Also, also, also, the scent is amaze!

Can’t very well have a collection revolving around Mermaids and not include some Hair Products! Be it long, short or medium-length, the Hair Foam is great for those who naturally have some texture (wave/curl) to their hair! When I’m not in the mood to mess around with my hot tools (for upwards of an hour) or when I’m short on time, I’ll just apply some of the Sea Wave Hair Foam straight out of the shower and run out the door. By the time I’d have reached my destination, my hair would have air-dried into “wet-look” waves/curls. Speaking from personal experience, regardless of how humid it might be outside, the curls/waves won’t lose their form. Also, the Sea Wave Hair Foam smells particularly gorgeous!

I kinda’ regret getting the Sea Mineral All-Over Mist. As much as I adore the scent of all the products in the Sea-Tox Collection, there’s just something about this particular All-Over Mist form that just bugs me and really makes me not enjoy spraying it on my face. Plus, I’ve already got the CocoaShea Cucumber Really Refreshing All-Over Mist (haulage here) to finish up. Honestly, I had my heart set on the mini version of Sea Mineral All-Over Mist (so tiny and cute!), but went with full size only because of the promo. That said, the packaging of the full size is quite pretty and I guess with use, the actual product might grow on me (I might learn to love it).

Not much to say about the Sea Salt Hair Mist (I haven’t actually used it yet), aside from the fact that I love all Sea Salt Hair Mists indiscriminately. Plus, it’s been a minute since I’ve actually purchased one. So, obviously I had to get this baby! It was only available in travel-size, which I thought was odd. It’s neither here nor there, but I’ve got a top that says “Mermaid Hair Don’t Care” (purchased from New Look a couple years ago) too!

Obviously, I had to grab one (from both collection) just to try. Unfortunately, the cut-out holes were quite awkward (according to the cut-out holes, my mouth is supposed to be much, much lower, and as such, I kept getting some of the serum in my mouth). Also, for whatever reason, there was an extra strip of cloth on each side of my nose (kinda’ like the nose pads on glasses) which kept getting in the inner corner of my eyes and was uncomfortable, to say the least. The Sheet Mask was sufficiently wet (doused in product) which made it stick to my face for all 10-15 minutes, before it began to dry up and consequentially start separating from my face.

I’ve only used the Sea-Tox Mer-Mazing Sheet Mask so far, but didn’t notice any actual difference in my skin. The next day however, I got several angry breakouts (my skin rarely breaks out, if ever) which I will attest to the Sea-Tox Mer-Mazing Sheet Mask. Now, I’m kinda’ wary of using the Water Collection Hyaluronic Acid Sheet Mask.

Nice to see Bath & Body Works coming out with Sheet Masks! The next step is to work on a more skin-friendly formula (I have faith in you, guys! You got this)!

Not quite sure which collection these two items are from (or if they’re even from the same collection at all), but I had to get at least one of each, as soon as I spotted them (here). I payed full price for them but… worth it!

Stupid cute! Doesn’t seem very practical though. Have you ever seen anything more precious? I kinda’ don’t have the heart to use this thing now, because I kinda’ don’t want it to end up looking anything less than pristine (issues….).

I’ve never seen these at Bath & Body Works before either, so I picked up just the one. I have yet to use it though.

So this is everything I got from both the Water and Sea-Tox Collections at the Mishref Co-op branch of Bath & Body Works.

Instead of paying KD 64.500 for all 15 items, I ended up paying only KD 33/250 so I’m pretty pleased about that, as you can imagine. It helped that Sales Assistants at Bath & Body Works were an absolute delight (as mentioned here) unlike the ones at the Perfume & Makeup Section (as mentioned here). Despite the appeal of both collections and the promo, I wouldn’t have been willing to purchase as much as I did, had the Sales Assistants been unpleasant.

Honestly, obsessed with both the Water Collection and the Sea-Tox Collection!!!! Do yourself a favor and check ’em out!

The KD 2/750 promo has now been extended to all full size skincare items (for a limited time only)!
