I visited Sephora again (seriously, they need to move the store to a more accessible area of the Avenues already, like maybe switch out Sephora with Next so people can access Sephora both from inside and outside the mall for quick drive-bys. I mean their current location is so out of the way from everything else!) and also, because I still didn’t get my Brand Gift (for reaching 200 points) even though I’ve already received the e-mail from the Dubai branch of Sephora. While there, I spotted several new displays (as shown above), new products and new brands!!!!
For starters they had a Mini Mania display (sooo cute!) mostly of cult fave products available in mini-sizes separated into 4 categories (all of which we’ll be taking a much closer look at, below) ranging from Speedy Sport – Sunny Beach – Trendy Work – Funky Party.

Sorry for the awkward angle but I’m not allowed to take photos in Sephora so I had to be discreet.
Sephora Cream Lip Stains retail for KD 6/500 per pop
How fun is this display? I’ve already purchased one of the Sephora Cream Lip Stains in the shade 03 Strawberry Kissed earlier (haulage here), but I’m definitely going to be picking up a few more! They’ve got 12 shades in a metallic finish and +80 shades in a matte finish! It seems they’ve increased the price on the Sephora Cream Lip Stains by 500 fils for whatever reason, because I purchased mine earlier for exactly KD 6/000. Although unnecessary, the price-increase is nothing drastic and there truly is a shade (all swatches here) for everyone!
Sephora Color Adapt Lip Balm retails for KD 6/750
Lip Balm that goes on clear and changes color on your lips? Yes, please! You know I’m gonna’ be all over that! Sephora Color Adapt Lip Balm comes in Pink and Orange! Seeing as how certain color-changing lip products in Pink go on clear but turn into a bright fuchsia on my lips, I’m learning more towards the Orange. Yaaay for options!
Sephora Collection Face Stuff (Blush – Bronzer – Highlight)
Playing around with Bronzers and Highlighters brings me such joy! Sadly, any time I so much as blink in the direction of this particular display (based on previous experience as well as this time), I get pounced on by no less than THREE sales assistants at a time, which is highly distracting (and annoying). That’s why I’ve developed a sure-fire way to shop in peace at any store while being effectively invisible (I’ve hinted at it earlier, but I’ll definitely be making a whole post about it soon).
They’ve got a stunning new Face Shimmering Powder (retails for KD 7/000) in that gel-to-powder hybrid formula (kinda’ like the MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish, for example) that I simply love, and next to that they’ve got Blush and Luminizer On The Go Sticks (retails for KD 6/250) in cutesy packaging that’s reminiscent of Korean Makeup, but I’m not sure of the texture (does it apply all patchy? is it oily? etc…) so I wanna’ read up on them online, maybe skim through a few reviews beforehand. Next to those are the MicroSmooth Baked Sculpting Contour Trios (retail for KD 8/500) which I’m definitely going to skip, because as much as I loved Baked Products (all domed and pretty), I can’t stand Duos and Trios anymore, because it’s just harder (not impossible but not easy-breezy) to pick up a certain shade without getting some of the bordering shades on your brush. Plus, I’m pretty sure these have been sitting out for a good long while now (probably expired or close to being expired at this point, meaning so not worth purchasing and definitely not worth paying full price for, at this point).
Same issue with the Sephora Colorful Blush (retail for KD 6/250) which seem to have been on display since forever. Case in point, the Colorful Face Powders – Blush, Bronze, Highlight, & Contour on the website all have updated packaging. Also, we seem to be missing several shades. Regardless, I’ve been having an issue with dry skin lately so I’m not to keen on purchasing an over-priced powder blush, especially not one that’s been sitting out forever. Next to that are the Sephore Must-Have Face Palettes (I’m not saying these are must-haves… that’s their actual name) (retailing for KD 9/750 each) that come in a cream-to-powder formula. The first tester is for the Contouring Palette, the next one is for Blush Sculpting Palette, and as you can tell from the green shade in the next palette it’s for Color Correction and finally the Strobing Palette. Not that it matters but the actual palettes come with the shades all in one row as opposed to how they look in the testers. Yeah, so according to the website, these Face Palettes are old and have also already been substituted with much prettier and larger 6 pan Face Palettes, so save your money.
The packaging on the Sephora Bronzer Powders (KD 7/500 – KD 7/000) looks appropriately fun and summer-y except these were released in 2011. So… pass. Same with the Sun Disks (retailing for KD 8/250) which are meant to be used on the Face and Body. They’re not even available on the Sephora website anymore, which just goes to show you how old these really are. Basically Sephora (Kuwait) is a mess. Next to that is the Sephora Wonderful Cushion Luminzer (retails for KD 6/750) and is relatively new (for a chance)! I believe these were released around 2016 and arrived to Kuwait in 2017 and unlike the other products in the Wonderful Cushion range (Wonderful Cushion Foundation and Wonderful Cushion Matte Lip Cream which apparently were really, really bad) these babies are awesome! I know because I swatched them and fell in lurrrve! Although relatively new, these are not available on the main website. In fact, most of these products only appear on the Australian Sephora webite and are usually sold out. Lastly, more of the MicroSmooth Luminizer (retailing for KD 7/000). Ugh, these look so stinkin’ cute to me! I just can’t resist Baked Products, all domed and cutesy, and I totally blame MAC and then Milani for this… fetish (kidding but not kidding)!
Light up your features with understated shimmer using a micro-smooth face powder. Each delicate colour has a weightless, silky texture that veils the complexion with a unique mirror effect for instant, subtle radiance.
Stunning new Face Shimmering Powder (retails for KD 7/000) in that gel-to-powder hybrid formula (kinda’ like the MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish, for example) that I simply love! Sorry for the glare! Again, I was trying to be “discreet”. Apparently, these come in 2 shades (01 Delicate Glow and 02 Natural Glow) but I only noticed that we had 01 Delicate Glow in Kuwait.
Gorgeous! I simply adore the embossed design that usually accompanies all those gel-to-powder hybrid formula products! My first was MAC Whisper of Gilt Extra Dimension Skinfinish (haulage here) but I’ve gotten Laura Mercier Indiscretion Face Illuminator and the Nars Dual-Intensity Eye Shadows (haulage here) and the L’Oreal Color Rich Eyeshadows (haulage here) as well as the Makeup Revolution Pink Lights Vivid Highlighter (haulage here) to name a few, nevermind the ones I purchased but never got around to actually blogging about. I just live for this gel formula! It’s insanely pigmented yet super easy to manipulate (whether you wanna’ intensify the shade or just blend it out) and there’s literally no fallout! Basically, the hybrid formula is a thing of dreams! ♥
Here’s a close-up of the Sephora Face Shimmer Powder and for only KD 7/000 the price is relatively decent, especially in comparison with the rest of the sub-par products from the Sephora Collection that have a much higher price point. After swatching this baby, I was completely smitten and can honestly say that this thing is comparable to some of the more high-end Highlighters! I’m telling you now ladies, the Sephora Face Shimmer Powder is absolutely stunning and a definite must-have!
Sephora Wonderful Cushion Natural Glow Face Luminizer retails for KD 6/750.
Inspired by the latest makeup innovations in Korea. This luminizer rewrites the rules! A new generation luminizer with a creamy formula applied using a built-in applicator cushion. Illuminates the areas of the face that naturally catches the light to boost the complexion’s radiance.
Varies instantly without overloading the skin or leaving an oily finish. A natural effect and long lasting makeup result. A pearly champagne-colored base that shimmers and adapt perfectly to all complexions.
Built-in applicator cushion, practical and easy to use, especially designed for completely even application. A unique application method that involves dabbing the product over the areas you wish to highlight.
I wasn’t all that interested in this thing until I noticed it had the word cushion in the name, so I decided to swatch it and that was it! Honestly, I’m not one for champagne-y highlights because they tend to clash horribly against my Middle-Eastern complexion. Overly light highlighters, like ones that are blatantly pink-y, can come across as frosty and make me look ashy. By that same token, overly dark gold highlighters are just as bad on my sallow skintone. That’s why I usually tend to go for white-leaning-towards-yellow gold highlighters. On paper, the Sephora Cushion Natural Glow Face Lumizer which is straight up described as a pearly (a word I tend to stay away from when it comes to makeup) champagne-colored base (also not for me, as I just explained) and shimmers (which usually translates to glittery mess) sounded like everything I would not want in a highlighter and yet somehow… it just works! I’m guessing it has something to do with the creamy formula and cushion applicator but this Luminizer is very, very pretty on the skin! It might not be to everyone’s taste, but I’m totally feelin’ it! The next time you’re at a Sephora, give this thing a swatch and see how you like it!
Sephora Color Hit Nail Polish Promo (Buy 3 Color Hit, Get 1 Egg Box)
Of course they’d have a promo after I’d already purchased all the shades I was interested in getting (haulage here). The Color Hit Nail Polishes are available in 50 shades (not including the clear Color Hit Top Coat) that all come in the ultra-cute egg-shaped packaging, but we only get a handful of random shades (out of all 50, I don’t think we even have 10) in Kuwait. They retail for KD 2/500 per pop and according to the promo, if you purchase 3 (for a total of KD 7/500) you get an Egg Box (while supplies last) to store the egg-shaped Color Hit Nail Polish. Effectively useless but pretty cute nonetheless! Again, sorry for the glare. I was trying to be discreet.
Sephora Collection Skincare
I went back to staring at the Face Creams (lawl) that I’d been eyeing up last time (here), before finally coming to a decision. Speaking of Skincare…
We finally got Pixi and Boscia in Kuwait!!!!
I’ve been ordering from the Boscia website pretty regularly for years now, but I’ve never gotten a chance to try out anything from Pixi before (they don’t deliver) so I’m pretty excited that they’ve finally made it to my country!
Pixi Makeup Setting Mist with Rose Water & Green Tea retails for KD 7/000
Pixi Rose Oil Blend with Rose & Pomegranate Oils Nourishing Face Oil retails for KD 11/500

GlamGlow x My Little Pony #GlitterMud GravityMud Firming Treatment retails for KD 23/000
Cute collab! … just not for me #sorrynotsorry
Kat Von D Alchemist Holographic Palette retails for KD 11/500
I’ve made it somewhat of a ritual to walk up to the Holographic Palette and stare at it every time I visit Sephora. I want it (so badly), because it intrigues me, and yet I know for a fact that I won’t get much use out of it (the shades are a bit cray, plus I’ve already got a handful of dupes) if any. I mean it’s not even that expensive, but I just can’t bring myself to purchase it, but I also can’t bring myself to forget about it and just let it go. So, since we’ve reached an impasse… I guess I’ll just continue staring at it every time I walk into Sephora lawl
Kat Von D Super Limited Edition 10 Year Anniversary Collection Eyeshadow Palette retails for KD 17/500
This actually looks pretty… pretty lol especially that one shade called Kelly (fourth from the right, wedged between the shimmery purple and the matte light taupe, directly beneath the shimmery gold), which looks to be a fun duochrome! Unfortunately, the lighting doesn’t seem to be doing this thing any favors, but you’ve got a pretty decent selection of colorful bright shades, darker shades and lighter neutral shades in different finishes. Personally, only the matte green and the matte grey (directly beneath the green) appeal to me, so I’m definitely going to have to skip this thing. However, the 10 Year Anniversary Palette would make a lovely addition to your collection if you don’t happen to have as many eyeshadows and you enjoy playing around with color or you could just get it as a gift for a Kat Von D fan (who seem to be decreasing by the second based on her latest scandal about the whole baby vaccination thing) or as a Birthday Gift or Anniversary Gift (lawl) or whatever else. If you’re interested, don’t sleep on it, because this thing is a Limited Edition so once it’s gone, it’s gone, baby, gone.
Fenty Beauty Moroccan Spice Palette
Gwaan bad gyal, Riri! … sometimes even I wonder about myself lawl So anyways, the reviews for the Moroccan Spice Palette seem to be pretty mixed. Some people love it. Some people claim that it’s too dry. You decide. The only shade that appeals to me is that matte grey (all the way on the left). Also, I absolutely hate the packaging! The way the square pans are tilted to look like diamonds just bugs me so much. The pans in the Tarte Mermaid Whatever Palette (pics here) bug me slightly more than this palette though. It goes without saying that I’m definitely skipping the Moroccan Spice Palette. I still worship you, Riri and have faith that you’ll do better next time!
Lancome Sparkling Black Collection
I can’t decide if the sparkling black fuchsia ombre packaging is really, really pretty or really, really ugly. Regardless, I love Lancome (always have and always will) and once I opened up those eyeshadow compacts, I fell in love with each and every single one of them. Total collector’s item, at the very least! So mothersparklin‘ pretty!
NudeStix retail for KD 9/250 a pop
I’ve always heard of NudeStix for what feels like forever, but I was never actually interested in them, mostly because they weren’t as easily accessible to me (couldn’t find them locally and couldn’t purchase them online). Plus, I’m kinda’ over all forms of Chubby Sticks (be they for the eyes or for the lips or… I’m not even gonna’ finish that sentence lawl). Now that they’re finally available in my country, my interest has been sparked… somewhat.
Dolce & Gabanna
I only snapped a photo because the model seems to be wearing a Hijab which I thought was… different! I don’t believe I’ve ever purchased any makeup-y bits from D&G, but I do repurchase Light Blue (review here and latest haulage here) pretty regularly so maybe it’s time to amend that and dive (or maybe dip a toe) into their makeup line too.
Everyone raves about Armani makeup and the names are absolutely hilarious (Maestro lawl) but for those prices, I need to be certain that whatever I get won’t be a dud. Plus, the red packaging seems so… gaudy. That’s why I don’t recall purchasing any of their makeup-y bits, ever.
I thought it was straight up bizarre when Marc Jacobs threw his hat in the makeup-world ring! Few years later, Marc Jacobs has practically become a staple in the makeup world! Everyone is either raving about one of those ginormous Bronzers or Coconut Water something or other. My only experience with Marc Jacobs Makeup is the Sephora Birthday Gift (haulage here) I got for free for my, well, birthday lol The intent to purchase Marc Jacobs makeup-y bits is there, but everything is so extra (I rarely finish up any of my makeup products so why would I go and purchase a thing of Bronzer that would last me for several lifetimes, y’know?) and as for the stripe-y Blushes, I mentioned my aversion to products that literally border each other (so you end up with both shades on your brush when you only intended to get one). I rarely hear people gush about the Eyeshadow Palettes… at least not as much as before, so, I dunno…
Finally, we come to the “Aisle of Doom“! Basically, it’s just rows and rows of adorable minis and travel-sized versions of your favorite products (cuteness overload!) intentionally situated at the check-out counter (practically surrounding you). As you can tell from the people queuing in line for the check-out counter, we’re all powerless to resist! It’s sheer genius, really!
Rows and rows…
You’ve got all kinds of travel-size Hair Care and Skincare stuff.
Not to mention all kinds of Makeup Tools!
I mean… I didn’t even know what that first one (BeautyBlender Defender) was supposed to be up until I googled it! It’s pretty much a protective case you can use to store your BeautyBlender (so it doesn’t get gross) or to take with you on the go (so you can just toss it in your bag). Sounds so simple and obvious, yet so practical! Why hasn’t anyone thought of this before?
BeautyBlender Defender retails for KD 3/500
BeautyBlender Micro Duo Pro retail for KD 5/000
Starskin The Master Cleanser Foam Detoxing Sea Kelp Leaf Cleansing Foam retails for KD 5/500
Tarte Ready, Set, Radiant Skin Mist (no price found)
So many interesting products and we haven’t even gotten to the makeup minis yet!
BeautyBlender Micro Duo retails for KD 5/000
BeautyBlender Mini retails for KD 6/000
GlamGlow Youthmud (mini) retails for KD 7/500
Tony Moly Pocket Bunny Moist Mist retails for KD 3/750
What an unfortunate name for such an adorable product.
They were selling the Makeup Eraser (which is essentially a face towel) for KD 7/500
Sephora had its own version of the Silicone Makeup Sponge for KD 5/000
I was still fascinated with the BeautyBlender Defender, honestly.
BeautyBlender Sur.face Simple (essentially a mixing palette) retails for KD 6/250
If I wanted to mix my foundations or whatever, I could just get a whole thing of Paper Plates. Just sayin’.
Speaking of mixing…
Ettang Modeling Take Out Cup (Charcoal) retails for KD 2/000
I thought this stuff seemed so cool! It’s essentially a Face Mask that you prepare yourself! Open the thing, take out the powder, pour water into the cup, toss the powder into the water, mix it all up and apply to your face for 30 mins, wash it all off, aaand you’re done! I’ve actually purchased something pretty similar from the Sephora Collection years and years ago except instead of a Yogurt Cup-looking container, it came in a Sport-y Water Bottle-looking container. According to the reviews, these Ettang Modeling Take Out Cups don’t allow people enough time to apply it to their face because they dry way too fast. Despite all the negative reviews, I’m kinda’ intrigued!
Ettang Modeling Take Out Cup (Yogurt) retails for KD 2/000
Oh and they come in 9 different variations (flavors? scents? I dunno’ what the proper terminology is here. It’s probably staring me right in the face and I’m missing it lol anyways, you get the idea) Mulberry – Peppermint – Acerola – Yogurt (as shown) – Charcoal (as shown) – Calendula – Collagen – Chlorella (lol what the heck? I have to try Chlorella based on the name alone), but of course we only get 2 in Kuwait out of all 9 :/
Some more info on the brand:
“Ettang” means “this world” in Korean, i.e., the “earth that we breathe and live in,” and represents “we will develop healthy cosmetics by using the high quality ingredients on earth.” With the belief that the products will be used by one’s own family, this is a natural cosmetic brand developed with no harmful chemical ingredients.
Sephora Contouring Brush Set retails for KD 15/250
Develop your contouring skills with this set of three Made in Sephora brushes. It’s got everything you need to sculpt, define and highlight your best features.
The beveled brush draws, sculpts and refines, while the illuminator brush brightens and the blender brush delivers seamless results.
I thought Bevel was an area! Anywhooo, this adorable mini Brush Set was not in the Aisle of Doom but I’m gonna’ include it here anyway. It looks insanely adorable to me and seems practical too, but I just can’t justify (to myself) getting it for that price. Again, these are not full-sized Brushes. Also, it’s from the Sephora Collection, not Nars or Hakuhodo. I’m probably gonna’ cave and purchase them at some point (maybe when there’s a Friends&Family Sale or something, if those do ever happen in Kuwait).
Anastasia Travel Brow Kit (no price found)
From barely-there to full brows, this kit helps any set of brows create the perfect look.
The Mini Tweezer let you pluck even the finest hairs, while the Mini Brow Wiz brow pencil in Chocolate or Dark Brown shades allows you to define a natural-looking, bold brow. Then set brow color in place with the Mini Brow Gel in Clear, for flake-free hold that lasts all day.
Use these essentials to create a flawless finish, even when traveling or on-the-go.

Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Minis – Blushed Nudes – Lip Set retails for KD 12/500
Huda Beauty Winter Solstice Mini Lip Strobe Collection retails for KD 12/500
Sorry for the quality but cameras tend to hate me. Also, the security guard had already asked me to stop taking photos, at this point.
Tony Moly Delight Dalcom Banana PongDang Lip Balm retails for KD 2/500
Sweetness of Banana and Moisturize feeling of Milk and gives nutrition and moisture on your lips. Tonymoly Banana Lip Balm is a deliciously scented lip balm that contains banana extract, coconut oil, milk protein extract, and Ceramide 3. Tony Moly Mini Peach Lip Balm retails for KD 2/500
Tony Moly Mini Cherry Lip Balm retails for KD 2/500
Supah cute! Unfortunately, as I’ve stated earlier (here), I can’t stand the scent of artificial peaches or cherries (ugh) so… pass.
Tony Moly Mini Green Apple Lip Balm retails for KD 2/500
Lancome Energie De Vie Masks (travel-size) retail for KD 4/750
Ouai Dry Shampoo (travel-size) retails for KD 4/500
Where were you last time (when I needed you)? I purchased and reviewed the full size earlier (here), but I figured I might as well snap a quick pic in case anyone was interested but didn’t wanna’ spring for the full size.
Lastly, you get to pick a 3-piece (mini) Kit from either GlamGlow or Becca for accumulating 200 points, which I must say is pretty sweee~eeet! Finally, something that’s more in line and actually reflective of what people associate with Sephora!
With that being said, I showed the guy at the check-out counter the e-mail (with the gift voucher for the Brand Gift proving I’d already accumulated 200 points) on my phone and he was all “Soz! We’re out stock, but leave your number and we’ll be sure to contact you as soon as they’re back in stock!”. My heart sank when he pulled out a huge notebook (we’ve already been through this before with MAC, jotting down names and numbers in a huge notebook probably with illegible handwriting is NOT EFFICIENT lol), already filled with names and numbers (waiting list for the 200 point Brand Gift which they’d all rightfully earned) and proceeded to write down my name and number, promising to contact me “soon”.
Phew! These “Spotted” post really take a lot out of me, but they’re so fun and therefore worth it! Hope you enjoyed this post (and spotted a few interesting things you’d like to try for yourself)! ^_~
