Sephora Summer Haul (Exchange)

Like I said in my earlier post (here), I went back to Sephora the very next day, to exchange the unsealed Tony Moly Mini Green Apple Lip Balm for a sealed one. Plus, I thought I’d get to pick up the “Brand Gift” that I’d qualified for (accumulating a little over 200 points) only a day before. No such luck. Even the Sephora App didn’t reflect my progress (it still showed that I needed to accumulate 15 points to reach the 200 point mark).

The dude at the check-out counter (same guy from the day before) informed that I need to wait for at least 72 hours (why didn’t he just say that the day before?) for the Sephora App to get updated to reflect my current progress. He also said I needed to wait for either an SMS Message or an E-mail from Sephora (UAE), before being able to actually pick out the “Brand Gift“. He also threw in a few more samples of the Kat Von D Trooper Tattoo Liner (x3) and another Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation (in yet another random shade), I suspect in his efforts to appease me (read: so I could hopefully go away and leave him alone lol) at least that’s what I believe.

Kat Von D Trooper Tattoo Liner

Nothin’ makes whipping out a killer Kat Eye easier than award-winning Tattoo Liner. The innovative brush tip glides across lids in silky, smooth strokes for effortless, precise application. Plus, it’s loaded with a highly pigmented, 24-hour wear formula for bulletproof lines every time.

A lot of people rave about the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner and a lot of people complain about it too. Either way, I’m pretty excited about finally getting to try it and deciding for myself! The dude actually gave me 3 this time, in addition to the previous 3 (from the night before), making a total of 6 to play around with! It’s available in the shades Trooper (Black) and Mad Max Brown (Brown).

Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation

Finally — the ultimate photo filter in foundation form. Born in 40 boundary-breaking shades, Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation gives skin an instantly smooth, pore-diffused, shine-free finish that easily builds to medium to full coverage. The oil-free formula is made with climate-adaptive technology that’s resistant to sweat and humidity, and won’t clog pores so that wherever you are, it’s going to work on your skin. Best of all, this longwearing, light-as-air texture is undetectable on skin — so you always look like you.

He also tossed in another Fenty Beauty Foundation (sample) in yet another random shade (I honestly believe that he just grabs whichever is nearest to him at the time lol). The shades are divided into Light – Medium – Tan – Deep. The shade he gave me the day before was #340 (cool) from the Tan range, and the shade he gave me the day after was #210 (neutral) from the Medium range. I’m not complaining though. In fact, I believe I might be able to mix the two, to come up with something closer to my actual skin-tone, maybe.

Tony Moly Mini Green Apple Lip Balm

This too-cute-for-words fruit shaped lip balm is not only adorable but also extremely hydrating and soothing. The lightweight and creamy formula melts into lips for long lasting moisture leaving lips happy and hydrated. Oh, and it smells delicious– you won’t regret it!

So stinkin’ cute! I only spotted the Peach (I mean it looks so freakin’ adorable but I just can’t stand the scent of peaches) and Green Apple. However, these babies are also available in Cherry (the only thing I hate more than the scent of artificial peaches is the scent of artificial cherries) and Blueberry (doesn’t look as cute as the rest, honestly) and Cherry Tomato (I mean… LOL Seriously, I’d totally try it if they ever sold it in Kuwait. Other than being cute, it’s actually… different, which is pretty cool)! So these retail for $10 up on the official website and are actually being sold in Kuwait for KD 2/500 (sounds about right) meaning there’s no insane mark-up which pretty cool! As you can see, my newer one has tape a seal preventing anyone from digging their grimy fingers in so I’m happy about that too! They didn’t even give me a hard time about exchanging the older one (unsealed) for the newer one (sealed), granted I’d purchased the older one only a day before, but still, I was thankful that they didn’t give me much grief over it (like they usually do, with others) which was nice.

These are all things I got on my latest trip to Sephora on June 6. My previous trip to Sephora (here) was a day before, on June 5.

After 10 days of radio silence, I decided to e-mail them (Sephora UAE) on June 16 about my Sephora App not reflecting my current status and also about the “Brand Gift“, and they promptly got back to me on June 18 (so professional, unlike Sephora Kuwait where they would’ve probably just ignored my e-mail lawl) with a printable Gift Voucher and a choice between 2 “Brand Gifts”; Mini 3-piece Set either from Becca or GlamGlow! All I had to do was go back to Sephora, show them the e-mail (on my phone) and claim my “Brand Gift“!
